Welcome Cazzy, please join in, we're very supportive of each other here :-)

Unself, welcome and good luck with what could be a battle. GC is right to say you may need other help as well, but also use this site is another support.

I'm reporting only one more AF day since I last logged on, but did manage to keep Christmas Day and Boxing Day to just one small glass of wine with the lunches, as I was the designated driver (and the drive was many hours afterwards). My pattern is home drinking due to boredom.

Thankyou satchmo I agree with you home drinking due to boredom it's not good! 2nd of jan is my start date, as then the temptation will not be there:)

  • No more AFD's to report, but I have just signed up for Cancer Reasearch's Dryathalon, so looking forward to a sober AF January. Hopefully it will set me up for the following months too!
If I don't get back on here before New Year, hope you all have a fabulous one, and thank you all for your support during 2012.

  • I would like to join the frum please, many of the stories are the same as mine. Bored and drinking at home, and can't seem to break the habit. Think I will also look at the cancer research dryathalon.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Morning all.

I haven't been around for a long time but please can I join you again? I'd like to set a target of 20 for January please Shaggy.

Hi to anyone who remembers me and also to all new folk and good luck in achieving the targets you set for yourself.

Thanks for your post Antonic. It is inspiring to hear that you find life so good without alcohol.

Good morning, I'm dropping by to keep up with my healthier living plan. I had a good christmas, but it has been too merry. A bottle of sherry topped up by champagne was my low point. I had to come here to get focused again.

I managed to stay af yesterday, and plan to be so today. That will be approximately £12 saved, which I will use to eat well.

I am going to set a target of 15 af's for me for January please Shaggy. It might not be a lot for some, but it will be better than my paltry 7 so far this month. If I can't do that, I know I have issues.

Antonic's post has inspired me too. It's great to wake up clear headed, with lots of energy. Well done Shaggy on your stop button. x
