Massive congrats to fakeplastictwee! I became DF about this time past year, and it was like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders
And just thinking about all the money we can all save by cutting down/out drinking too!
I had a few bells ringing today when a friend opened a really nice bottle of single malt that he'd bought himself for the new year... Stayed strong though, so 1 more afd for me please shaggy!0 -
Btw if there are any people out there with an iPhone or iPod touch, I really recommend the NHS drinks tracker app - I started using it about a month ago and it's been really satisfying to see my weekly and monthly unit averages dropping since I started trying to be AF in earnest (quite shocking that I've been AF for 9 days now and my last 30 day average is still 2.5x the recommended amount... lol

ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Morning All!!
I'm waaaaayyyyyyy behind on the thread. So much has been going on!! But it looks like everyone has been doing well.
On the few posts I have seen I have noticed some of you mention that your OH's drink, that it's hard for you to stop drinking when they continue, and also how their behaviour changes wheh they've had a drink. So my question is...................... Did you notice the changes in them before you choose to cut down? Or was it that as you were both drinking it was all kinda normal? And do you look at them now when they've had a drink and think "I hope I didn't behave like that?"
I only ask as MrR turns in to a right evil "bar-steward" when he's had too much. And as he doesn't know when to stop drinking I ususally ahve to wait until he passes out on the sofa.
Did anyone see Inside Out last night? I kind of "forced" MrR to watch it. I suggested that it might be interesting for him (especially as he hasn't kept his promise......) Anyway, after the programme I caught him looking in the fridge at the bottles of beer to see how many units they were :rotfl:He has said that he will have 2 days off the drink this week (as suggested in the programme), Wednesday and Friday. I'm all for supporting him but has he always buys enough wine so he won't run out i'm concerned that there will be some leftover from tuesday/thursday. I'll just have to wait and see i guess.
I can't believe I have waffled on for ages. This was only meant to be a short post!!!!
Have a good day all!!
