It's not too late to set an October 2012 Target

    Everyone Welcome.
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Shaggy, you should feel really proud of yourself showing the willpower to resist dealing with the stress by hitting the drink. Well done you.
And you keep us lot in order which is such a great help to the thread. Thanks
    Trying to keep in budget.

    Hi

I'm proud to report 6/20 AF days to date, and had a great weekend in Glasgow and Ayr. It was work, not a holiday, and I'm exhausted now, but it was totally worthwhile as the results were record-breaking.

I had a large glass of wine on Thursday, and now there's none in the house. Told DH that I wasn't going to buy any "for a little while". He thinks it's to help with my weightloss (which is going well). I also saw a fab dress for his firms posh Christmas do, so not spending on the wine will pay for the dress.

There seem to be lots of positive posts today = brilliant.

Hello all..it's been a long time since I posted on this thread, but I do still try to catch up when I can.

Life has quite honestly been carp over the last few months and I can't see anyway out of it at the mo.

Mum died 6 months ago 2 days ago (and boy was that hard to write). I have drunk (and I mean been drunk) every day since she died apart from 4 days in September when I had a massive panic attack and ended up in a&e. That was not pleasant.......

DH has had some bad news at work as they are closing the depot where he works. Not sure how we will cope...will mean he will have to work back in south london again which will mean him getting up at 3am and not getting home til late.

I was given 10k today straight into my account from mums' estate. Yes it has paid off my overdraft and a credit card with a bit left over...........but I feel no sense of relief......I just feel so down and sad. I will be debt free by the end of the year but I'm so not happy about the way it happened........

Tomorrow I think I'm going to see if I can get an appointment with a private hypnotherapist as the NHS councillor said I wasn't suitable for their services.

Just wish I could get back on the AF route......but am typing this after about 6 pints.....................

Rachel welcome back. I was so sad to read about your Mum. I have been where you are now and it is a very dark place. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. I hope ths doesn't sound trite but how about a few books on grief? I know there were a couple that helped me. Try looking on amazon - there maybe one that suits you.

For the moment, maybe you should start trying to reduce your alcholol intake little by little by moving the time of your first drink back 1 hour each day, making it later and later into the evening?

Hope that helps and I hope you keep posting.

  • Morning all.
1AFD to add for me please, making 5/15 and we're only the first week into the month!
Thats a huge achievement for me and means I'm a 3rd of the way to my target with 3/4's of the month left to do it in!
