Sorry if you think i am letting you down
No cleggie you're not letting anyone down. We're here to support each other not to judge. Some of us want to control our drinking, others want to stop. Some of us drink when we feel like it, others have planned nights. And some of us set out to do one thing and end up doing another!
For me I feel ok if I'm drinking or not drinking because that's what I've planned. What freaks me out is when I've planned to be af and just carry on drinking anyway (most of December) then I feel bad for drinking and even badder for failing - double bubble!0 -
Thanks fakeplastictwee.
I got the end of my 2nd glass and have put the reat of the bottle back in the fridge. I have enjoyed those 2 gasses, but i dont fancy anymore, so i will save it for another time. I never have managed to leave an unopened bottle in the fridge before!
Well then that is progress and control
I have a glass of red wine now. At least I can say it's sort of medicinal!0 -

alcohol is fine when you're choosing it, not it choosing you. My aim is to be a cutter-downer, not a tee-totaller. It's the times I pour without thinking and then keep chucking it down my neck that I want to avoid.
I do feel that I want a glass this evening. I've pledged 30 now though so don't want to fail too badly.
Couldn't say it any better.
It's difficult on here because there are people who want/need to cut down and there are people who want/need to stop. For some cutting down will work fine for others total giving up is what is needed. The thread, I hope, has room for everyone.
I think what this thread does for everyone is remind them that alcohol is a powerful thing, and whilst it is still a legal and socially acceptable drug it needs to be treated with respect.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I've managed the grand total of three nights since the first of Jan. (Christmas booze left over). Must try harder next week. Partner is finally coming round to cutting back due to clothes becoming a wee bit tight.0

Good evening to you all,
Crazymum sometimes my head is just in the right frame of mind not to have a drink sometimes its a very real struggle not to have a drink and sometimes i just give in.
Really pleased with my jewellery last night took it in to the shop that asked me to make them some this morning and they phnes this afternoon they had sold some and could I make them some more. So tonight is af aswell.

The only person that is disappointed by having a drink is the person who is drinking.
Hope you all have a good evening

Hello all, hope everyone has had a good day....and enjoying the evening.
Cleggie you enjoy your winea little treat every now and then is no bad thing. I need to be AF because it was ruining my life, unfortunately I drank to excess too many times....the drink controls me, I simply do not control the drink anymore. Quite shocking really, but there you go - better for me to face facts than to pretend otherwise
.
Legsand - how brilliant to be selling your jewellery - what sort of stuff do you make ? I have to say I like little girl jewellery and rainbows and pink sparkly things - I quite often share stuff with my 9 year old. If anyone gives me grown up stuff I pass it on to my 21 year old daughter.
365 days - the book is going well, need to put more time into it. I had a bit of an emotional moment in realising it is the book I need to be reading - I suppose I never imagined that I would get to this stage with drinking and I suppose I'm very ashamed. But there you go, it is how it is and the best way to move forward is to deal with it. I actually feel quite relieved to know that I need to give up - I've tried for some time to get the drinking in order....and it's just not something I can do. So at least I have a straightforward task - just give it up. Still walking and still AF
Hugs to all and I hope you all have great evenings0
