EVERYONE WELCOMEWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Hi Everyone
9 Af please Shaggy
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, and congrats to all on those wee achievements whether its not drinking at all, drinking less or using the stop button, its all good. We went to a family party on Fri so i volunteered to drive so no alcohol at all for me, last night had some wine but stopped after small glass number 2 and stuck kettle on. going to BBQ later on today so will have some wine.
Mrs R it seems it was only a matter of time until this impacted on MrR's work, as others have said i hope it gives him the wake up call. It may give him a bit of a shock as its been 'exposed' outside of the home if you know what i mean. A worrying time nonetheless for you. Thinkin of you xIt’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts0 -
Hi all, just read through the last month, sorry i've not been around, but i've not been out of control either.
Sorry to hear about your troubles with family members Shaggy and MrsR, I really hope things work out for you all, please continue to update us.
I have been having AF days, i've been intentionally measuring my units and trying to be sensible. I haven't been counting AF days for august nor have I set myself a target, as I wasn't in that place. However I have been trying to be moderate.
The reason why.......well I am still a single mummy and today hasn't been a good day, I feel very tearful, fragile and low. Mostly I haven't felt like this, so I think i am allowed an off day and let myself cry when I felt the need so its gets out of my system. Tomorrow is a new day. Also the kids are away this weekend, so i've been on my own today which when your down and its a sunny sunday for families, i found it hard and very lonely. However I did take myself for a walk, have spoken to a friend on the phone and went for a swim this evening. I also had an early ish dinner to avoid the drinks. I did have a lot last night as I went to a friends for a girls night, well I didn't have the kids nor need to get up in the morning for them, so I did indulge. Knew about it this morning.
DH, well as I said, he's still not back, some days i think we have moved forward, some days definitely back. Neither of us know, we are on week 8 now and im in limbo. He is taking our lad away next weekend and he's hoping to think more then and hopefully another fortnight after that all those work pressures will be off, so maybe he can then invest some time into our marriage. If we still have one that is. Both sets of parents know we are temporarily separated now, some friends know, but its not total public knowledge yet. Just in case, I guess.
It seems our main problem is communication, lack of it, misunderstanding of it and making assumptions of it too. Now we've both realised this its something to work on.
I'm drained emotionally and physically today, but AF.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
9 for August so far, please Shaggy, thanks
I'm target-free this month because of holiday, and I'm taking time off my freelancing to get things done in the house and with my DDs.
DD2 got 3 A*s last week, so pretty pleased about this, and have allowed myself more non-AFD's than normal. But still apprehensive about DD3's GCSE results this Thursday - poor mite worked like a Trojan but is very worried.
I hope everybody is OK. Keep strong, Cuppa.

44 weeks AF for me now.0

Morning
I will be doing the SNC again this week........feeling better about it than last week.
Drank a bottle of wine Friday, Saturday and Sunday night...not really sure if I enjoyed it though, think its more of a habit and because I bought 3 bottles I felt the need to drink it all
Good luck everyone trying this week xx0 -
Morning All
Cuppa, it's so good to hear from you. Sorry that it's not been going too well. I hope things will becom clearer once his work situation settles down. It's good that your parents know, that will give you extra support. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was tell me mum that my (ex) husband had moved out. Keep us updated when you can.
Pricey, 3A* are brilliant!! Well done DD2. And good luck to DD3 for this week.
Well done Antonic, getting closer to that 1 year mark
Thank you for your supportive words. I still don't know what to do. MrA has been a friend of MrR's for 25 years so he knows he is a drinker. I don't think MrR's sister has been in touch yet, and I just don't know how to approach the subject.
It's fair to say I'm a little bit stressed.
On a different note, did anyone see fiX-factor on saturday. I don't normally watch the auditions. But the lad from Swindon, Jehmene, works in the same A*da store as me. All the staff were talking about it yesterday and I don't think anyone expects him to come back to work (he's on a 6 month career break)
Have a nice Monday everyone

Hello All. Just having a quick catch up as have been a bit out of things last few days. Not feeling brilliant but on the mend now. Upside was didn't feel like drinking so I've 3 more to report!!
:Tto your DD pricey, that did call for celebration. Sorry to hear you're still in limbo cuppa. Strikes me your DH is in a very muddled, stressed place at the moment. Part of me is angry for you in that while he takes time out to sort his head out you have to cope with the strains of taking on full responsibility for the home, family etc. The other part says he's not well and needs time to recover. Hopefully a break from work will help him. I certainly don't blame you having a girlie night, take any pluses while you can there's enough minuses to the situation.
MrsR, I'd let it rest for a day or two and then maybe when a week's gone my text your SIL and ask her has she done anything. Let someone else have a go to persuade him/explain to him.
So far I'm 9AFDs for August (and I completed last week's SNC).
I don't know what I'm doing this week. Normally I'd be AF but after a dry weekend I might take it as it comes.0
