What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

:T on your 5 days. I can see that as you're on a roll you want to keep going but looking at your target, you've allowed yourself 3 planned days for drinking this month. Maybe a night out with your friends before they leave is worth using a day for. Only you can decide. If you do decide to drink you really must get straight back on the wagon afterwards. It's about you being in control of the booze not the other way round. Good luck, let us know what you decide.

    ....and watch those units :D

Have fun whatever you decide. :)

Have a great holiday Shaggy, you deserve a break after keeping track of us lot!! Thanks for all you do, it is much appreciated

Things been quiet on here today, but its the weekend and so it should be i guess, we are all busy doing nice things hopefully.

For me it seemed strange to wake up on a saturday morning on my own, but having the kids around helped and I deliberately kept jolly all day for their sakes. As long as I set out their breakfast the night before, they are able to pour milk on their cereal and turn on the tv, so i managed a lie in till 8.30. They like the independance and I like extra dozing. Its amazing how Cbeebies can still penetrate a dream from a distance though.

Today I decided we would have a slower paced day, the week is generally so full on. So we leisurely got going, kids played in pjs for a while and I had a cuppa and we chatted. Then we went into town armed with umbrellas, which they thought was great fun and did some errands and a trip to the library. Got home for lunch and then the kids wrote/drew on DH's birthday cards (in a few weeks time), as I thought it would be a good opportunity. DS did an amazing drawing and then coloured it in. I hope DH will be suitably impressed and he spent a lot of time on it. I've really noticed an improvement in his drawing and colouring since starting school. He draws from imagination and much better than me, i'm still on stick men.

At the library the kids got some books and we rented "The Smurfs", which they loved. We then wrapped a load of presents and wrote cards (a busy birthday July) and after went to the park before dinner. Ended the day with the kids watching Garfield on TV and playing shops in the lounge. Its been so easy looking after them, we've just rubbed along nicely and all the jobs, school work etc has been done without hassle.

But the finale, was seeing an advert on TV about the Butlins Sale. The children have been really keen to go back from about 2 year ago. We havent been able to afford it, but I got a really good deal online, within the budget I had, so we secured the last 1 of 3 and off we go in a few weeks. Its lovely to see their faces so happy and smiley that we are off to Butlins again - with or without DH. I've included him but that's as far as it goes for now.

At some parts of today I've felt angry that he gets a lovely stress free weekend with no responsibility whilst i'm doing all the leg work. But I guess that is the way it is, i forced this seperation, so I have to deal with the fall out. Its just unfair that 95% of the work will fall to me. But ultimately, the kids are happy, safe and secure in their own home and they haven't really noticed DH not being here.....surprisingly. But they have spoken to him every day and are very much looking forward to going out tomorrow with him. One more sleep as DS says.

I had to laugh when I asked DH how he was renumerating his friend for his kindness. He won't take any payment in the short term, so i suggested a bottle of something or a fancy box of chocs as a thank you. DH said, "I thought i'd take him out for a meal". Well whoopie do, considering we haven't done that for over a year due to finances and babysitters, it didn't go down too well. Yeah you go out and enjoy yourself whilst i babysit and stay at home monitoring the budget.

I realise that isn't how it meant to come across, but i can't help but feel life is extremely 1 way.
Live for the moment and plan for the future

Glad you've been busy with the family Cuppa. Sounds like a great day with your most important people :) I'm sure your DH will soon realise what you mean to him and you'll all be back together happily.

Went to counselling today - nearly walked out while I was waiting but glad I didn't. Its nice to tell someone everything, no holds barred, and get positive, constructive advice. I don't feel so much like scum now.

Anyway, good day really, nice long run, helped out parents with some stuff, turned down a few opportunities for a beer, and then enjoyed a quiet few drinks at the local with DW - all completely civilised and a very nice chat.

So, one Saturday without losing control. That's a small win, and they add up.

    Have a good night all.:A
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p
