Bell clanging moment has now passed, so i'll declare 1AF for today please.

I'm learning to recognise its definitely habit the times I want a drink, now i've eaten i'm not so fussed at all and quite happy with my fizzy squash.

The challenge will be to change the times of habit.

Thanks OBNW. Demons? It's like a haunted house in my head sometimes.

Cuppa - sorry your not feeling so good now. Hard day I guess? I've never had the sort of hard day you're having with so much to protect and look after.

Be strong though - do it for the children - and yourself!:T

I will update on the book. ATM, it's still an unimaginable future to be AF forever, but as it was for smokefree forever (little doubt there now).

Keep calm and carry on (or any variant that has currently been hijacked for marketing purposes in this Jubilee year).:p

Always feel free to PM me if you want to let fly (but I can't promise I'll get it straight away)
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p

Thanks Mark, could feel the urges come back to BP too combined with needing the loo. So I took myself to the toilet first and then unexpectedly started crying. Made me realise that my emotions were going to be released via food (and if it wasn't for this thread alcohol) and i've managed to stop. Head is still wobbling around a bit though, so i think i may have retire early to pre-empt any mistakes.

DH has just texted asking how I am and if the kids are being good. I'm ignoring it. He is coming home tomorrow night to look after the children whilst I go to work and he asked me to leave a list of anything that needs doing. I do that anyway as we cross over with minutes to spare. Its usually nothing too much just odds and ends of the day stuff. But I guess he may as well make himself useful. Will feel funny seeing him tomorrow though, making my stomach churn thinking about it. How awful about my own husband.

Luckily the children didn't even seem to notice that I didn't speak to Daddy and got them to be the answer service. Not quite sure what I would have said if they had. They seem quite happy with my current work explanations though.

Mark, your Keep Calm and Carry on comment made me smile, thanks it was much needed.

I'm very proud of No.1, he made great progress in his swimming lesson this evening, even his teacher commented on how hard he is trying.

I won't be around much tomorrow, out most of the day with No.2 then working in the evening. I'll probably check in on thursday.

Mark just read your sig, that's great well over 6 months, a living success story. Bet your wallet is happier too. Whilst I was swimming today you popped into my head about the boiled sweets trick, don't ask me why i thought of it, but i did. I got wondering what brand they were?

Right I'm going now before temptation gets too much.

    Night all.

To Maman - are you male or female btw, you have me totally confused!! Lol

    Thank you, sound advice.

Good luck, its always harder at home with no distraction and the usual habits to hand. I'll be around later i suspect, so call in if you need to.:D

 Thanks for the support cuppatea. I was confused why you might think I was a man then realised there's 'man' in my virtual name. No I'm a woman and a mum and a bit of a francophile so hence my choice.

You sound to have handled this evening well. Like MrsR I hope you get the outcome you want but I read that part of that is to have your DH treat you like a wife rather than a housemate. It's only two days so far but be strong. You'll be busy tomorrow so it should be a bit easier. Well done on your AFness (and DS's swimming):T

I heard a minor tinkle today, a woman at the checkout in Waitrose was heading home with a bottle of rose to enjoy and I did feel a tinge of envy. Fortunately the feeling was gone when I got home, so it was mugs of tea for me instead. I find hot drinks better for me. When I started cutting down I used to have water or tonic and I had to keep a full glass constantly at hand. I find because I have to sip hot drinks I'm not so manic about it.

2 AFDs for July please Shaggy.

Another struggle getting off to sleep last night, but having had much less to drink I felt happy about it.

Planning to go to the gym tonight after work and then hopefully less tonight than last.

More book reading today in my breaks too.

    Have a good day all:A

P.S. Cuppa, the Keep Calm comment was aimed at you as you seem to be quite patriotic! The sweets are just own-brand rhubard and custards, and I can make one last for nearly 30 mins, so it's not too many calories.

    Hi All,

You are doing really well Cuppa, The first few days is bound to be hard, and it's brilliant that you are holding things together for the children. Just go with what feels right for you.

Mark, Well done for being smoke-free for 6 months :T. I'm guessing it's probably easier to give up smoking than alcohol. With smoking you either do it or not (I have never smoked, MrR did and has been smoke-free for nearly 4 years), but with drinking it's often seen as an occasional thing and it's often seen as odd if you avoid alcohol altogether.
It's a difficult one and I applude all of you who have cut down or stopped completely :T
