P.S. Cuppa, the Keep Calm comment was aimed at you as you seem to be quite patriotic! The sweets are just own-brand rhubard and custards, and I can make one last for nearly 30 mins, so it's not too many calories.

I haven't had them for a long time, reminds me of my childhood.
While giving up smoking was by no means easy, I think it would be much easier to go back to drink than nicotine. For me, alcohol is cunning, baffling, powerful, and patient.
And more relationships and lives are wrecked by drinking. You don't often lose you job and end up homeless because of smoking, but it happens to some because of drinking.

I used to find it awkward to be a non-drinker, but not any more. It gets easier over time. If people have a problem with me not drinking, it's their problem, not mine.

Wise words Graham and so true. Although I was very much put off my sarnie at work yesterday when I smoker colleague had clearly just had a fag and then plonked themselves right next to me to read a paper. Didn't do much for that working relationship!
morning finally think i have turned a corner with this icky bug thing although I have an uber sexy rasping hoarse vocal output .... good excuse not to speak to people!

Glad to hear your feeling much better missrlr.

Today I feel absolutely shattered, but have to work and do all the usual house things. I also feel very emotional and keep crying. It was hard to see DH go away again last night and i'm missing him so much. He isnt coming back tonight now (which in some ways is better as its upsetting me), so i won't see him till sunday when he comes to take the children out for the day. He spending time with a good friend of his and they are taking the children to a country show.

It feels like in many ways its easier for him to do this seperation. He only has himself to think about and go to work etc. When he gets back he has free evening time and has his mate to talk too. Even this weekend when he sees the children he will be doing something HE wants to do and with HIS friend for company. I'm left at home juggling all the day to day stuff with mostly myself for company and the children. Especially in the evening.

The sad thing is on Sunday when I have this day to myself I don't actually know what to do with it. All my friends will be having family time and are unavailable. Maybe I'll just have to catch up on some sleep and a few things around the house.

Right I must pull myself together and stop wallowing.

Shaggy, please can you add another 1 AF and amend my TF to 16 days please. Thank you.

Moving house today - need to keep calm and relaxed.

Good luck with the move Graeme.
Hope that you manage to avoid the rain!

5 AFDs for me too please shaggy :)

Hmm not sure what to do tomorrow night, a couple of friends would like to go out which I know means go and do a lot of drinking, which I'm trying to avoid at the moment... but they are going travelling for a bit so I won't see them otherwise! Not sure whether I will be able to go out and resist though.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down cuppatea. Do try to be strong. You really need to think through whether missing your DH is enough when you weren't happy with what you had before. As for the weekend, do they have any beauty places open near you on a Sunday? You could have a manicure/pedicure. Whatver you do, pamper yourself. You deserve it.:T on another AF day.

I'm pleased I managed to be AF day today. We had a warm, sunny day for what feels like the first time in weeks and I wanted to celebrate. I resisted stopping at a country pub on the way home (DH did ask) and then stopped myself sitting in the garden with a glass when I got home. I can't pretend it's been easy this week but the discipline has been good for me and I really feel I've acheived something.

    4AFDs for July please Shaggy.

:T on your 5 days. I can see that as you're on a roll you want to keep going but looking at your target, you've allowed yourself 3 planned days for drinking this month. Maybe a night out with your friends before they leave is worth using a day for. Only you can decide. If you do decide to drink you really must get straight back on the wagon afterwards. It's about you being in control of the booze not the other way round. Good luck, let us know what you decide.
