    23 please, Shaggy, thanks

Bells are tolling at the moment  But I think I have to collect DD2 from station at around 11:00 pm tonight, so absolutely cannot drink anything :) Unless she phones to say her friend's mum is collecting them .... :)
  • Hi Shaggy and everyone. Not been here for a few days now, and have not been AF either! At least I can report to not drinking nearly as much as I was.
I'd like to set a JULY TARGET of 14 AF days please. I'm on holiday for one week in July, and have a couple of things planned this week, but I aim to come back from holiday and knuckle down to the diet (which involves cutting down on the alcohol too!)
Thank you once again for organising this for us all.

I haven't read back much but welcome to oldies and newbies alike.

Back from my holidays and wanted to update you on my experiment with a month away from the thread. I think I can well and truly say I've become a 'normal' (whatever that means;)), social drinker again thanks to all the support on here. I haven't had many AF days due to holidays and other social things but the amount I've had has been incredibly controlled. I haven't had a single hangover. On holiday, I've been stopping at a single glass with lunch and then just a few gins in the evening. After that I'd have a cup of tea and copious amounts of water.

Unfortunately the downside of my holiday was too much food and my jeans are feeling decidely tighter.:( So I'm going to join the thread for July to make myself get back into the habit of AF days during the week and cut back on the calories.

May I have a target of 10AFDs for July, please Shaggy?

Hi all and well done to everyone whose keeping up the good work. I'm currently rerunning my life from just over a month ago, despite really making progress. Been to all my counselling sessions feelng great but could not get up this morning for the very reason I go to counselling! The irony.

Got to keep trying as there is no alternative. Woe is me and all that. Tomorrow WILL be better.

Still glad this thread is running -really helps mentally when Im messed up.

    Thanks all.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi All :j

I have been so busy that I really don't know what to do with myself. Have just spent a morning sorting budgets, paying bills etc now to stick to them as they are tight, with no room for excesses of any kind!
I have had 1 AFD since I last posted, but last night was a I need a large glass of wine now night (which became 3 ) oh well over the week my consumption has been much less than of late so I am taking positives from that!

So Shaggy can you please add 1 more AFD to my total, thank you :D

Markman Chin up, you have been doing so well, remember today's a new day and you can wipe the slate clean and start again.

maman sounds as if you had a lovely break and congratulations on being able to find that elusive stop button :T

ChocolateCupcake and missrlr Well done on the cutting down and stopping before you have had too much! :)

Hope everyone else is OK and enjoying their Saturday :D

Off to watch DS play cricket in a bit, think I may have to take a blanket! Where is the sunshine it feels like Winter here today, but at least it's not raining (yet)!

    Take care,

    Mari xx

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
