Similar to me, though I am not WEAK willed where alcohol is concerned, but I have NO will at all.
I have lots of will power in other areas of my life, but not around alcohol.

When I have that first drink, I want that second more than the first, and sixth more than the fifth, etc

I didn't always get drunk after having a drink, but I could never guarantee I wouldn't get drunk after one, regardless of the consequences. So because I wasn't in control all the time and regularly drank more than I intended, I was NEVER in control.

I look at it like driving a car - if I had a crash 3 out of 10 times I drove, you'd say I was never in control of the car, even when I didn't crash. That's the same with my drinking.

Good to post and connect again with the thread.
Hop your days are all great!

Hi Greame, likening drinking to driving the car has really got me thinking, thank you for sharing you experiences.

Well done de1amo, that's a good total!:T I think I read that you live in Turkey.

What would you normally drink? I'm off there on Monday and I don't find the wine up to much. I'm not a beer drinker so no Efes for me either. I usually have Turkish gin & tonic but the resort I go to doesn't do diet tonic, so far too many calories. Sorry to ask questions about drinking, not very tactful.:o

I'm doing OK this month without joining the challenge. I'm not really having AFDs but that's partly because of expected social stuff and partly because I'm treating myself. Last night I had a single glass, basically because I could but I didn't really enjoy it much. Plus it's so cold that I'm craving hot drinks more! So briefly, I know I can control my drinking and I am but I really believe I could go back to AF days if I wanted to.

Good luck everyone who's planning an AF Wednesday.

the wine here is dire and expensive which is surprising for a country with its own industry.
İ used to drink tubourg fici from a bottle because its clean and 'mature unlike efes that is produced with a chemicaly taste!--the efes fici is not much better.--fici means cask. its no problem talking about alcohol because you're going/coming on holiday!!!
if you dont like your liver the real men drink raki with ice and water but dont drink it like flavoured water because it has the kick of a mule!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
