Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I had my second counselling session which was actually very useful. I didn't realise that the body was also craving the sugar in alcoholic drinks, so I've stocked up on some nice boiled sweets for the early evening - it's got to be worth a try.

Kept to my targets on all days so I'm feeling pretty good at the moment. I've also lost two pounds in the last week, so cutting down is helping my waistline too :D

    Have a good day everyone.
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p

    Hi All

Mari, it's good to see you back

Pricey & Cuppa, it's good to know I'm not the only one with DH issues.

Markman, Sounds like you're doing really well. Good luck with the boiled sweets.

Sorry for being AWOL. BabyR has been very demanding recently. And MrR had a week off last week, which was mostly spent sitting on the sofa with a drink in his hand.

Have a good day everyone, and don't get too wet in the rain

Hi MrsRainman, i guess relationships are never easy esp if there are children, money or addiction issues in tow.

I hope you don't mind me asking but I get the impression you are here on behalf of your husband as you feel like a single parent most of the time due to his drinking? Have I got that right? My apologies if i'm off the mark. Did you ever get around to showing him your chart and if so how did he react? Also I've just seen your signature, how old is Baby Rainman?

Mark, it all sounds good your end, well done! Hope the sweets work.

I feel a little dissappointed with myself as I planned to be AF last night and i wasn't. I wasn't silly or anything just a couple and went to bed feeling fine and got up this morning fine. Its just I want to keep sunday an AF as much as possible so I feel able to start the week with a clear head and able to get out the door on time, without stress or being late for school. Anyway none of those things happened as I only slightly indulged, where as before coming back here I would have over indulged.

Right so here is the start of a new rainy week and I hope to do 3 AF days and not go silly on the other 4. I've actually noticed when i've had a few AF days together the first non day after I do kind of go the other way, which is daft and pointless. Stupid me.

    Hi all
Am a bit disappointed in myself as had a drink everyday over the weekend, well and extended weekend, Thu to Sun :(
On Thu had a few, Fri I only had 1 pint, Sat I lost count, and yesterday I had 3 halves
Back on the wagon this week - it isn't helping that I am now seeing the guy I met from the singles night, so going out alot more than previously
He is taking me and the kids out for tea tonight, have already told myself I will be on the diet coke!!!

MarkMan - congrats on going to the counselling, this type of therapy has sorted my life out on numerous occasions - always helps to get a stranger analysing your life :)

So, I think I am at 3AF for June, terrible....
Will aim to be AF for the rest of the week

At least the sun has disappeared, not beer garden weather now :)

Tracy, try not to beat yourself up too much, I know its easy to say that, but praise yourself as well for recognising what you want to achieve and for not being in denial of what you haven't achieved. I'm sure I could have been more eloquent, but hope you get my jist.

I'm in a similar situation and debating in my head about whether I'll have a drink tonight or not, i keep going from yes to no - no to yes. In essence I will only have a sensible couple of units as I have to be up and organsised in the morning, so why bother at all, just drink tea and fizzy and leave it at that. Yet, part of me is looking forward to something this evening.

I find I wake up in the morning full of good intentions and by lunchtime I'm wavering, by tea-time, well.............unless its a work evening of course, that keeps me more accountable.

Anyway have a lovely evening with said bloke and I hope the diet coke is sufficient to not get tempted.

    How is everyone else?

    Thanks CuppaTea

I did well and had a lime and soda, whilst sneaking some of the kids refillable fizzy :money:

My money saving may put this spendaholic man off lol

I know what you mean about the shall I, shan't I - like did I really need to have some beer yesterday, would have felt the same if I had lemonade!
I hope you are drinking tea now lol

Well you'd think so wouldnt you, but no. Straight from school i took the kids to see some friends in a neighbouring town, they had their tea and we didnt get home till nearly 7pm, so it was them to bed/their school reading etc, so was 7.45pm by the time I was dithering with what to drink.

Then a neighbour popped by to request a favour, resulted in being invited in by DH, the box of wine sitting in the fridge was raided and I found it hard to say no with two of them on the sofa drinking and i'm already wavering.

However, as AF as i'm not, i'm in control and will be able to get up hassle free in the morning and within my sensible units.

But sorry guys, another night down and out for me.

    So weak willed.........:mad::mad::mad:
