Had my first real test of will last night as I went to the pub to meet an old work friend for the first time in 8 months.
Result ?
90 minutes & 2 pints of diet coke with ice & lemon, I left after a good chinwag and with a clear head !.

Thats great news - I used exercise and diet to get me through the 1st 2 months - something else to take my mind off of having a drink
Realised that I now have 2 AF days to report for June - I forgot I didn't drink on the 1st, so a bonus for me
I have wine and beer in the fridge, leftover from the weekend, will aim to leave them there till Saturday
Good luck everyone for June x0 -
Worked entire Bank Holiday weekend so today is actually a day off!
Had what should have been a boozy lunch but I stayed on diet cokes!!
3 AF days for me so far this month!

3 please, Shaggy, thanks
Bank holidays always very tempting times, but didn't do TOO badly. Despite the best attempts of all the supermarkets. I was so annoyed on Saturday, which I managed to have AF (I'd had my allocated wine night on Friday instead, so not that great an achievement) - anyway, I went down to the food department in M@S and was literally surrounded by shiny bottles of wine when I got off the escalator. I was REALLY annoyed, because it was so obvious.
OK, got that off my chest, back to work ...0 -

i actually stopped drinking for 9 months when i went on my last exercise binge. i lost 2 stone in weight but old habits die hard and i went back to drinking once i stopped(and gained all the weight back)-this time i have stopped drinking without the exercise and started losing weight at a slower pace.--i cant wait for my bike to arrive!(its on 12 months interest free tick so it is OS)!!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
Hello everyone, just been catching up on the last few days and seems everyone here is in good form. Thanks Mark for your PM, have replied
I've another 2AF days to add pleas shaggy
I have really noticed a little shift in my attitude, I am finding myself actively planning my AF days and wanting to stick to them. Like someone else said, its a lovely feeling waking up AF.
I did overindulge at our party and spent most of yesterday feeling like poo and my hernia was complaining loudly - when will i learn??? Today its less sore, but i still wonder if i have ulcers where the rib pain is, its always worse after a lot of alcohol.
Well DH and I talked last night, he said he still loves me but not as much as he used to due to my ED's and depression, the years of it have taken its toll on him. I am trying reallly hard and think i am now over the worst of both of these, except the bulimia, but one thing at a time eh? But i have to crack it soon, before my children start to notice and i dont want my daughter to catch me either.
He wants us to carry on trying for us and the children and see if we can find our way back and the spark we once had. He doesnt want to make any promises and which made me feel quite vunerable. Baby steps for now.
I need to focus on being more positive and less negative. I am more a glass is half empty kind of girl, where he is a glass is half full kind of man. I need to change my thought processes and look on the brighter side of life. Plus quit the nagging and recognise the good things that he does, even if his effort of looking after the kids or a bit of cleaning whilst i'm working isn't to my standard. I need to appreciate what he has done, rather than critisise what he hasn't. I did say that i at times find myself resenting the fact that I keep the family organised and running and do have a hell of a lot of responsibility over and above being a mum and that at times I feel taken for granted. So then I nag and its catch 22. We both need to try harder.
Hmmm, right i'm working shortly so best go, have a great evening everyone.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
Had a very boozy bank holiday weekend I'm afraid. However, I've now had 2 AF days and feel better for it!Debt Free Date: November 20170

ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
