This morning I noticed in the Browser history some Google serches about the causes of dark urine (sorry, TMI :D) and various websites visited about liver problems, etc.
Now, I know 10 units of cider a day isn't perfect. But it's a darn sight better than 24 units.
I'm not getting too carried away but I think he may be seeing the light :T

I hope so too, but it may take him a while longer to be able to do anything about it. Plus although I'm sure you are aware, dark urine is a cause of dyhydration and if he's been unwell for a few days and not drinking enough water, that's the outcome.

Great if he decided to motivate himself though and for your and bubs too.

If not though, out of interest do you have a plan of action, either way or just see how things go?

I feel awkward asking as I'm trying to be supportive, but i'm on the other side so to speak. But i can also identify with you as a mother and a wife........middle ground eh?:rotfl:

Well the last two nights have been AF but tonight won't be its friday, the start of the weekend and i plan not to be silly.

    Have a great one everybody.

    Markman, how's things with you?

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Dark urine can be one of the early symptoms of liver disease - cola coloured I believe, though no I'm no expert at all, at all....

Hoping Mr Rainman is feeling better or gone to see his Doctor.

Yes, you read that right. NO WINE!! :p

Oh I do hope so MrsR. Thanks for the update. He's obviously not a completely lost cause as he's definitely thinking about his drinking, effects on health etc etc.

I'm doing OK. If it's possible to practise 'Mindful Drinking' (as seems to be the latest buzzword with eating) then I'm doing it. Had people staying last night, aperitif and wine with supper then I realised I'd had enough and stopped!:D

Hi again. Just checking in - I've not gone awol again. Third conselling session today - useful again. Boiled sweets are working! No AF days yet but 3 days of just 2 units. Feeling great.

Feeling for MrsR, and MrR - there is no easy way down from 24 units a day - everything is being affected by alcohol - I know!

My APAS conselling is just what I needed - they are not telling me I must stop drinking forever, they are just trying to help me get down to a level I am happy with and providing advice and tips for getting there (and its not the governments 21 units!).

I'm not giving advice, I just know that when I went in a couple of weeks ago, I came out much stronger and feel SOOO much better. They even tell you not just to quit, and to ease your way down to deal with the withdrawal symptoms.

Well, time for tea. Good luck all.

  • Hi everyone. I'm afraid I've not done too well this weekend. I went out on Friday evening, but only had 2 glasses of wine.........then drank another 4 when I got home!
Last night I shared a bottle of cava and then drank some more wine.
I'm feeling the need of an AF day today!
