....it'll be quite sociable, *Fairly bad but passable J.McInarow impression ahaed*You can-naaad be sear-ree-ar/s!!!!! unless you're keen on mns of course....and I am feeling a bit flobbery at the moment! (I'm not very good at self-motivation, I have discovered lately :rotfl: ) *coff-coff* Sorry; musta swallowed a crumb
So I have a request, ladies and gentlemen... If you spot me saying things such as "I couldn't be bothered to go to the gym/pool today" or "I spent so much time doing so-and-so (e.g organising photos, cleaning the sideboard with a toothbrush, you know the kind of procrastination tasks...) I ran out of time to go to the gym" please, for heaven's sake, get the kippers out!....so I'm grabbing Lotti's hand firm, standing shoulder-to-shoulder & hoping there's no need to don oilskins & sou'westers for a long, l-o-n-g time.
Anyways; that's for another thread....flying_fresian wrote: »....puff pastry....what can I use it for??!
Four ingredients, a rolling pin (or empty bottle cuz I couldn't find mutha's rp), baking sheet & sharp knife.
1/ Lightly roll out pastry if it isn't already done for you, to about 1cm thick.
2/ Cover with mustard; lots or little depending on how you like it, but remember that it does give a better taste to cheese. Then you use less cheese & save a few calories AND pennies :money:
3/ Trim the rind & most of the fat from streaky bacon rashers & lay on top of the mustard, leaving a teeny gap between them.
4/ Sprinkle over grated cheese.
5/ Slice between the rashers, lift either end of one 'strip' & twist before placing on a baking tray. Leave a space between the strips to allow for the pastry rising a bit & bake till they look like the ones you'd buy in 8regs
1/ Roll out but not by much. Cut into rectangles of a size of your choosing.
2/ Place on baking sheet & cook till lightly brown.
3/ Cool. Sandwich two together with jam & whipped cream, & top with glace icing.
HTH, or else put meat & veg, sliced apple, gooseberries, sausagemeat, wotteffa! in an ovenproof dish & flop the pastry on top, bang it in the oven & you've got a pie for dinner
As for official business, I did indeedy keep my nsd on Tuesday & found another to keep it company yesterday so I can say 2 nsds so far.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Not sure whethe today's an NSD or not. My husband is away (forces) at the moment, and asked me to send him some stuff. I had £5 in my purse as my 'free' money (I always keep a little bit of change in there for emergency bottle of water out with kids or if we just fancy a packet of sweets when out for example)
My heart is saying I have spent money, but I could hardly not spend the money if you know what I mean, it wasn't spent on a whim...
What would you guys class it as?
(I don't want the NSD police to come and get me....)

Personally I wouldnt count it as it was an essential spend - like you say, it was unavoidable and not frittered away on rubbish -HTH!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Just popped in to say I lost a pound at weigh in this morning - I am over the moon as the last two weeks have been really tough trying to stay on the straight and narrow. I have 3lb to go to goal so on track!
Had my hair done, walked the doglet and now I have an appointment with the sofa and the telly - see ya!( This looks worryingly like me!LOL!)

I'll try to explain how I work out my rules; it's taken a long time to decide on them & how it fits in with MY circumstances, & it will probably be the same for us all.
My exclusions are:-
Emergency vet & human medical prescriptions.
Hospital car park for appointments.
Unavoidable travel costs for essentials appointments.
Money gifted to me.
Any utility bills.
Think that's it...& don't worry! Tis supposed to be a FUN way to help control your coins after all. Good Luck!Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
