Spoon - you are an absolute marvel. :A Those posts must have taken you hours. If ever I can help - let me know :)

Today will be a spendy day but I am going to get them all over in one hit. Mr A shopping being delivered tonight and I'll put diesel in the car to last me well into next week, DD's are back to school today so no doubt will hit me with things they 'forgot' about before the holidays  and I have various silly odd £1 and £2 to pay over the next week that I'll put into my change pot today. Meaning I should get a good few NSD's over the weekend :)

    Have a great day everyone x x

The 3 things that i really enjoy about this thread the wonderful people, discovering what people class as spends and how we are all so accepting whatever our differences.
Keep up the great work fellow NSDers:T

What a lovely thing to say Queenie - that's how I feel about the thread too! Thank you!
Jinty - good on you, hope you managed to stick to your guns all day? Work will soon realise what they have lost & wish they had been nicer to you!!

Yes, I managed to stick to my guns yesterday and was out the door bang on 5! I was determined not to get stressed out and it worked! Amazing what you can do once you've made your mind up!

    Good morning all!

    Clocked up #4 yesterday! 4-in a row ( inadvertantly!)

Had a lovely girls night last night, plenty of chat and some nice eats, just perfect! :)
Today I am off for some groceries( but not much as I am pretty well stocked up) and for the first weigh in of the year. Not sure how I've done, so fingers crossed! Maybe I should try this?

Getting my hair cut and the roots done. Badly needed as when the wind blows I look ike I've got the Mallon streak!

After that I plan to walk the dog and then do nothing, zero, nada, zilch and put my feet up with a book ( did I mention that I'm off?:rotfl:)

Thanks Spoon for the roundup, you're a star!

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

Wow, Spoon, what a lovely mega post, wish I was even half as organised to say howdy to people on here! Today is supposed to be a NSD but there's a haircut voucher available on my local groupon that looks good.......but I'm sure by the time I feel like the Dulux hound there'll be another one! Just have to keep strong!

I do have to pay postage for a book I've just sold on Amazon but I will take it out of the profit and therefore it will not be a spend :)

    Evening all :D

I resisted all spending until I checked the Morrisons on the way to Fat Club and got LOADS of reductions. Tuna steak worth £6.60 for £1.64 was the highlight although I also got three packs of gammon steaks for 55p each instead of £2.29 :D:D

I've decided to change the way I'm doing this challenge. At the moment I count groceries spends as a spend day, but I'm spending cash already withdrawn as I'm using all cash for my food shopping just now to try and stop me going over budget. I can plan my own spends, but often have to buy bread/milk for Mr Fresian as I don't track what he's using (A loaf of bread lasts me a week but he goes through three a week! He also drinks milky tea intravenously....)

As of tomorrow, I'm going to count any day where I don't spend my money as a NSD. Direct debits/groceries are excluded. This is to stop me frittering on nonsense. I should therefore hit my 12 NSD target easily and then work on setting a new target! Some of you might feel like it's cheating, but I think it's going to work for me....no planned spends for the rest of this week apart from food on Saturday in my usual top-up shop at Aldi, and that should be under £15 anyway hopefully.

If you think I'm cheating too much then please tell me off :o

I do the same. I am doing the grocery challenge so any money I spend for food doesn't count as long as it is withing my GC budget. Anything over that I count. I do the same with fuel.

My problem is the money I spend on chocolate/coffee/lunches clothes and other impulse purchasing of general bits n pieces or if I go out in the evening etc.

Having said all that if I am having a NSD I do try not to food shop too as that reduces the number of days I go to Mr T and so removes temptation to spend on non groacery items. It also means that I plan my food shopping and this helps me to stay under budget. It doesn't always work (e.g. if we run out of milk) but I don't worry about it if I need to top up on food.

    Morning all,

I had my 3rd NSD yesterday (2 in a row :jyay!) I don't think today will be one though because we are in desperate need of fresh fruit and veg. Also because I am going a bit stir crazy!!

I am new to this but I am doing it the same way as flying_feesian and mumsiemum because my main problem is buying coffee, chocolates and sweets:tongue: especially if I have nothing to read on the bus to work. I have a kindle now which will help and I have also put myself on a diet which bans the sweets and chocolate so hopefully I will be thinner and better off!!

It's been great to read all of your posts and what you all get up to ! I am working from home today and so I will compile a shopping list and make sure it is within budget. I also want to look on the boost your income thread and see if there are any useful tips on there. Oh and the christmas decorations need to be taken down :(...which means cleaning.....:(:(...on no!!!

Please can you let me know if there is anything you can recomment I look at for boosting my income?

    Thanks everyone!!!;)

Spendy day yesterday and will be today. I joined the Challenge 'Make an Extra Payment a Week' (not up to one a day yet:o) and had decided to try and do everything on a Thursday, on the vague premise that every other Thursday is my day off.

So just about to venture into my bank account:cool: - does anyone else find that the cyber equivalent of ignoring bank statements through the post is not wanting to log onto the bank? or would that just be me:cool:

flying_feesian and mumsiemum - am thinking your way of doing things sounds pretty good. Might mosey over to the grocery challenge later...

Spoon - what amazing posts, don't know how you do it, but thank you anyway (and to Bdini and LMH of course). This thread would not be possible without you.

Hope to report a NSD Friday (back to work:() but in the meantime good luck everyone:lovethoug

Right - got my coffee, got my security key, I'm going in...
