  • Spendy day for me today - saw a brand new M&S dress in my size on the local FB group and bartered down to just £6 - am desperate for work clothes though and will use some of xmas money so not too bad.

What's bad though is getting a letter from mortgage lender saying my DD was unpaid so they're charging me £27.50  I phoned them the day after it was unpaid and explained the money was in my bank now and they said it would be fine, nothing to worry about, no mention of charges! As well as the bank charging me god-knows-what for it this has been an expensive lesson :o (mortage taken on 28th, wages in 29th :( )

    ho hum.

Our rent is due almost a month after DHs payday, so I pay the full amount into another account on his payday and move it over to the current account it is paid out of the day before it is due. That way I know no matter what happens over the rest of the month, no matter what other bills have to fall by the wayside, the money for that is always there.

    Good afternoon all!

Back to work today and having a "challenging" morning! Came into am email from supervisor asking me to "explain" a couple of issues which arose last week ( Remember, the same days that I came in to help out with staff shortages. I was totally snowed under but got my stuff done plus helped with other folks work too)
So I "Explained" that it was a couple of errors of the human kind while thinking:
    A) get over it you ungrateful so-and-so
    B) note to self: never volunteer your time off again, Jints
    and
    C) This aint worth the hassle, I dont even get paid for changing my plans and coming in, only get days off in lieu.

So I am a bit girny, grr!

On the upside it's my Dad's 80th birthday today so we are off to theirs tonight for cake and fizz. The family will all be there so we'll have a laugh.
Tomorrow I have a girl's get together out at a friends house and
on Friday we are all out for Dad's birthday dinner.
So lots to look forward to, but most of all, after tomorrow I'm off till next Monday!:j

Oh, and NSD #3 please - went to draw out cash but the ATM was down so will need to leave it till another day!

    Sorry for moaning, folks

    Have a great day:)

Well we are having some interesting weather today:eek:
The boys wents back to school so i had a 15 minute walks into the blustery wind to get the bus home, it proved to be a battle to just stay upright but i am counting that as my workout today as my legs are now aching:rotfl:

Chrissie57 happy birthday, i hope you have a wonderful day:)
Jinty have a great time celebrating your dads 80th:)
Spendaholic chick I'm sorry to hear about your DD situation I hope it gets sorted out in a less costly way:)
LMH and Spoony thank you for all your hard work, this months thread is certainly keeping you busy:T

I also wanted to add that on this miserable day this thread made me chuckle to myself and smile, as it normally does, especially Freeby & Noras posts. A ray of sunshine very much appreciated.

I thought today was going to be a NSD but turned out not to be as had to book some classes for DS 1&2. I was told i would be able to pay on the day but the booking process wouldn't allow me to continue without payment and the classes have to be prebooked:( but determined to get a NSD tomorrow:cool:.

Along the top just above the first post there is a drop down that says 'thread tools', just click on it and one of the options should be 'suscribe to thread' Just click on it :)

Yesterday was NSD 2 but went out today to get a birthday present for DS1 - he loves to cook & is very good & he wanted decent salt & pepper grinders - TKM for 12.99 a pair & I bought him a slow cooker too for 19.99 - didn't get the cheapest 'cos generally they're round & the oval is more versatile I've found. Decided to get a few other bits & pieces so hopefully back on track tomorrow! The weather 'Dahn Sarf' has been pretty horrendous - high winds and torrential rain - not helped by the lady who ploughed through a large puddle at high speed & drenched me further Grrrrr - got home & lugged the stuff indoors made a cuppa and the sky turned blue & the sun came out - gone back to grey again now - hope it improves tomorrow especially for all you 'oop north'
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
