I'm also on NSD 2 found the best way is to avoid looking at the Grabbit board and don't go out!0

A spendy day here for me as bills were due (hurrah last council tax till April), so I did a few other things today that I needed to do such as posting some parcels, getting a few bits and bobs at the supermarket and paying for animal feed.
However, I have saved an absolute fortune in the sales :j.
I haven't been into a single shop and I deleted all the tempting emails of price cuts from various online stores :rotfl:
Hopefully a spend free day tomorrow0 -

As well as the bank charging me god-knows-what for it this has been an expensive lesson
(mortage taken on 28th, wages in 29th
)
Awwww Spendaholic (((hugs))) - been there.
Is there anyway you could open a new (basic) account, transfer all your direct debits to it and transfer a set amount to cover them when you're paid each month?
I did this after a similar "episode" and it's been fantastic - no more missed payments, no more charges & (best of all) no more worrying about them.Back to work today and having a "challenging" morning! Came into am email from supervisor asking me to "explain" a couple of issues which arose last week ( Remember, the same days that I came in to help out with staff shortages. I was totally snowed under but got my stuff done plus helped with other folks work too)
So I "Explained" that it was a couple of errors of the human kind while thinking:
A) get over it you ungrateful so-and-sonote to self: never volunteer your time off again, Jints
and
C) This aint worth the hassle, I dont even get paid for changing my plans and coming in, only get days off in lieu.
Ohhhhh Junty (((hugs))) for you too. Sometimes you just wonder why you bother offering to help out etc don't you? Feeling pretty much the same and dreading going back tomorrow:(
On the upside it's my Dad's 80th birthday today so we are off to theirs tonight for cake and fizz. The family will all be there so we'll have a laugh.Have a lovely evening ......
Well, a rather unexpected NSD No 2 for me today. It's really not got much better outside and haven't ventured out again!:)
ETA: I did finally get around to making the soup late morning .... yum yum and a HUGE pan full which will do lunches the rest of the week!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Now. The Gang know I'm usually in the front row of the Tardis Tidiers, but I'm inconvenienced somewhat *winces as knees bend*...went speed-dating at a seafood restaurant t'other night & pulled a mussle
Nargleblast wrote: »Good evening and Happy New Year to one and all!
The less we say about the New Year shenanigans the better. Honestly, the things people get up to! We were having a naice refained little soiree and then I just closed my eyes for a moment. Next thing I knew the Tardis was invaded by various celebs (some wearing kilts) getting drunk and disorderly! I don't think Hubert will ever be the same again after that sprout curry. (I knew the tone of the neighbourhood would plummet once Big Mumma got back on the scene) *rolls up sleeves*Wunnna-come-atsyde-n-say-tha'? *peeks ot of window before opening the door  & thinks quick* Look. You be in charge of Hubert's......"needs"...for the next three outings & we'll call it quits. Deal? *offers hand*....
I've only spent money given to me for b'day/crimbly so I'm fairly confident today will be No1. Hadn't set out to spend that but as I passed a charity shop earlier, I went in instead of walking by as I'd thought I was going to. Anyhooze, I got a longer length cable type patterned waistcoat, long sleeved t-shirt, Kim-un-A88ie book & a gorrrrjuss reversable fleece gilet that looks brand new, all for under eight quid cuz they've got a half price sale on too
Sounds wrong to be so pleased--it's for charity after all--but these days even that has to begin at home

Thanks, hun. I'm going to ring them tomorrow and ask why I wasn't told when i called in, maybe put on the waterworks and see what I can do! I can't open another account as money has to be paid in the account each month or the OD facility will be removed  (I already have another account for daily living expenses, where my maintenance and tax credits are paid into)
On a positive note, I called into the bank today and asked for help. Usually they're really unhelpful and I was told a couple of years ago I should change banks as they couldn't help  but today the lady was fantastic and says I'm eligible for a cc with 0% for 18m - going back on Friday to sort it out. It won't help the OD but it will allow me to pay off other cc's and concentrate on paying od off for a while...so that's a huge relief. Old habits die hard so to celebrate I decided to treat myself to something, only instead of spending a fortune it was a new mousemat and a packet of galaxy buttons from the pound shop! :rotfl:GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

LMH and Spoony thank you for all your hard work, this months thread is certainly keeping you busy:T
I also wanted to add that on this miserable day this thread made me chuckle to myself and smile, as it normally does, especially Freeby & Noras posts. A ray of sunshine very much appreciated.
It is indeed QueenB., so the lovely BDINI is helping out this month as well, she will be doing tonight's update. Thanks BDINI xx:A
I'm with you on Nora's and Freeby's posts, they do make me chuckle:D
I'll be back later to update the front page and catch up with all the day's happenings, see you all later.

I don't have a sunroof which is what the people that built my house seem to think you needed to actually use the garage for it's purpose. It's not even a big car, just a normal family saloon.
Pffft! That's not a very MSE attitude Freeby...think of the expense of getting your car re-shaped after next door's lion figure has been hurled into it!! Park it in the garage, and climb out the boot....you know Martin would agree....:DBack to work today and having a "challenging" morning!
On behalf of the MSE-verse (and taken-for-granted staff everywhere), we shall be donating Hubert's worryingly green and glowing sprout-generated rose viagra to your manager...by air... make sure to be at least 6 feet away from him at all times, as it's a little windy out there, and I can't guarantee my aim from this distance!!0
