I promise I'm not on commission ... however, Kindle uses Pearl Ink technology so it is basically like reading from a book page rather than a computer screen - as a bonus you don't get 'page glare' when trying to read outside in the summer like you do with 'real' paper. I think that's part of the reason it's not backlit as well. You can also adjust the font size for reading.
Kerri,
I think you and littlemisshappy should both be on commission for the glowing references you have given the kindle. You've convinced me to buy myself one and I look forward to taking ownership very soon. Mind you, I was fairly convinced earlier, but you both have given me sufficient information to purchase. Thanks again for all your help and greatly appreciated.:T
Red:)If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

oh dear...no-one shouted so I've spent on takeaway pizza....however they had a bogof offer on with a 'free' bottle of diet coke...so 2 x 12in pizzas and diet coke and delivery for £10.99 - and DS went halvesGOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

Nargleblast wrote: »Good evening all, and commiserations to miss_t and all others who are suffering from the January blues. Because I got paid before Christmas, I have nearly two weeks before I get paid again, so the menues at Chateau Nargle are going to get very interesting! Have booked a Mr S online delivery for payday, and stocking up on things to fill the vast deserts in my store cupboards and freezer means I am already looking at around £130 and that is without fruit and veg! (Have decided to be really sensible and get fruit and veg only from the local greengrocer - good quality and reasonable prices). I do the payday shop (sometimes Mr S, sometimes Mr T) to stock up on stuff then it's Mr Al or Mr Lid with the occasional bargain from Mr T plus odds from the local Co that keep us going for the rest of the month. If only I could rent out the resident locust plague (all two of them) to people wanting their larders clearing, I would save a fortune!
Been busy in another life the past few days (4 night shifts this week so don't quite know what planet I am on yet) - however, I have been a good little NSD-er because I am now on (drum roll, fanfare and cheerleading chickens, please!).... 7 NSDs!!!!!
Rock on Nargle!
I understand that feeling! However I was very good this year with my December pay, got paid on the 16th Dec  (as that was my last day at work) and won't get paid again till the 31st :eek::eek: so for the 2nd year I transferred my pay into another account as soon as it went in and transferred it back into my normal account on the 31st December so it was like normal payday for me.
Think my January blues have a lot to do with my broken arm (again) as having spent a 1/4 of last year in a cast, I wasn't expecting to end the year and start a new one with another break.
Sirish1979 - You are very good looking after DH! I will be on that duty as soon as I have passed on my wretched cold to OH! I thought I was rid of it earlier this week, but it has come back with a vengence!0 -
Well a very unexpected NSD #10 for me which makes it 6 in a row!!!New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T
Debt at Highest: £43,073 :eek:0 -
(((((((((((((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))))))) Miss T, it sounds like you have really been through it recently, but well done for staying positive on the debt busting!!
Just typed a really long reply about my trip to the house & lost it
The short version is that the asbestos is only dangerous now because of damage from the previous tenant  but it is the type i can remove myself (cue yet another spendy day to buy gloves suit & mask ), & i'm still waiting on the insurance company, but the back of the house does look very draughty & sorry for itself, so fingers crossed!!
Anyway, after a few spendy days it's number 8 for me today please Spoon :j:j
I must focus more on this challenge, it seems to be very hard going at the moment, i think it is due to having to use my CC until the whole rent situation gets sorted, i feel like i had taken 1 step forward & now i've had to take 10 back
Oh well, at least i haven't forgotten what to do with a rubber chicken as today i have batch cooked like a crazy lady & washed all the skirting boards to keep my mind out of the shops!! :rotfl:February NSD challenge 5/150 -
I've got no 7, thanks.

Hooray! NSD #6
Will definitely have to spend money tomorrow. I always buy a pint of milk on a Monday to keep in the fridge at work to make my own tea (money saving, see) and I need diesel for the car. However the good news is that I have made my own lunch for tomorrow, so although I won't get a NSD, I will save some money :T
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend and Monday isn't too awful :cool:0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37
