Had a quick scan and think I got them cheaper for the same products - I only use original inks, but thanks anyway, I got quite a good price I think.
Ah, you see I've never used original inks only re-manufactured as it's cheaper so always buy off the sites above. (86p a cartridge for 1 of my printers)

I did consider it this time due to a severe lack of money but decided to play safe, I've been really happy with my printer and don't want to take any chances! Sure they are ok though.
  • i think ink would come under nes cose for coupon printing.
  • Actually there was a whole roaring thread on this a little while ago - seems to stir up a lot of contraversy! To clarify she lived off of £7 per week. Her rent was paid and she was in a bedsit - from reviews and interviews with the woman she didn't put the heating on, didn't have a phone, used no public transport, hitch hiked whenever she wanted to go anywhere she couldn't cycle to, drank water & shopped everyday picking up reduced items. From what I have read - although I can't be sure as I'm not her, might be worth getting the book - no she was determined not to have handouts and refused things, although she did go along to lots of free events when there were likely to be nibbles.

There is also a realisation as her waist started to expand on not eating carp, so again from what I have read I think she did pretty well

Yes I could at a push shop on £21 for a week, but I don't know if I could do it for a whole year and make those sacrifices. So hats off to her I say!

I bought this book, and to be honest i didnt find it inspiring at all, i get more 'buzzed up' reading threads on mse,

If i remember rightly, she lived in a place where there was loads of museums and art galleries etc, so when ever there was a new exhibition, there was food laid on, so they allways ( her and her friends) allways managed to get an invite...so she had free food to eat....

I would def say DONT BUY THE BOOK!!!!!!!!!!! get it from the liberary.... especially as this a thread on not trying to spend on wants....

Basically do internet searches on your local area, and try and find out the attractions that are free, and also free preview nights etc which might have free food.

Also if you are a business ( or not;)) there are certain organisations which do free seminars, on how to tender, or do cashflow etc, and smone times you get a free slap up meal too....:D

Also there could be things you could volenteer for, which might have some perks, like free food or goodies etc....
Work to live= not live to work
  • some good ideas COOLTRIKERCHICK, thanks.

I wouldn't say I LEARNED anything from it, but I've been at this MS lark for a long time, It did make me think though, about what I spend, and how I could cut back, if I put my mind to it. My DD read it and took some ideas for freebie entertainment out of it. But definitely one to borrow not buy, and also have a look out for "The Moneyless Man" about a bloke doing the same thing, more or less, in the same place, at the same time, but for a different set of reasons... (Mark Boyle was the moneyless man...)

  • No way I could do this for a year! But I do it for just one week each month and it makes a huge difference to my outgoings. Funnily enough I don't find that I just spend the extra in the remaining weeks, I really do spend less quite consistently.
The only thing you should be paying interest on is a mortgage.

Otherwise Mr Banker - No, I think you'll find interest is something you pay to me....

Being in bed for a week has definitely helped me save although I gave my daughter money to treat herself to a meal at Westfield with a friend.

Unfortunately they didn't take the 2 for I voucher there ( T and C) but they gave her a 20 per cent discount anyway.

I like the idea of this challenge. Whether I could actually manage it .... well not sure but will certainly give it lots of thought. Have spent far too much on random stuff this month. How nice it would be to have the money in my bank account instead!
