Rather overdid the carbs yesterday (Saturday), the hm bread is so nice, I had 3 thick slices for lunch, with fried eggs and salad, then a piece of bun cake while out and dinner was pasta in the bean soup. Today pizza party so won't be remedying yesterday's over-carbing, so I can only hope to manage a lighter week from Monday! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Good Morning all,I went to see my friend yesterday whose Dd has just had her twins and they were gorgeous. When I got there the first thing she said was wow your face is thinner and your are doing wellI hadn't seen her since August so I was very pleased.she was brilliant though and at lunch we had a nice cooked lunch of mince with puiles of veg and a yoghurt for pud.I was so full that when I got home last night I just had a big mug of HM soup which was more than enough.I resisted her cakes and as she is a super cook I felt really good and she was great about it as she too used to weigh quite a bit but lost all hers at WW a few years ago and knows how hard it is to keep it off.I also popped in to see my DDs MIL and she gave me a huge bag of their apples off their tree so I am looking for apple recipes this week.I shall peel and freeze quite a few for later.I thought also I can use some up to flavour porridge and yoghurts
Today I shall have
B:cereal,banana
L : soup and crispbreadat DDs so lots of veg and probably chicken
S.chopped apple as I have so many of them:):)
Well done everyone on all our losses its going to be worth it I feel sure0 -
Morning Folks
Aah…..Sunday, a day of rest for me I think – well a rest from decorating and washing down walls. I think I was being a bit ambitious yesterday and only managed to get the stair ceiling & walls and half of the lounge ceiling & walls done before I was absolutely shattered and still had to put the furniture back in place before I could sit and enjoy Strictly.
At last I’m seeing an end to the cooked meals I have in the freezer – just 1 portion of bolognaise, 1 of chilli and 1 of meatballs left – I am however getting a bit fed up of mince so will have chicken tonight.
Anyway - no rest for the wicked - must go and get caught up on the laundry that’s been neglected for the past few days and nip out to @ldi for their super six.I also popped in to see my DDs MIL and she gave me a huge bag of their apples off their tree so I am looking for apple recipes this week.I shall peel and freeze quite a few for later.I thought also I can use some up to flavour porridge and yoghurts
I love stewed apples with my porridge, but use a sugar substitute rather than sugar, although I do like them quite tart.
I found some great recipes on the bramley apples website - in particular I recommend the beef & apple meatballs, nom, nom.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £16.930 -

Hi All
Have to stay in today... We picked picked up an 8 year old cat and she howled all night... I kept the wee old one in my bedroom as she has damaged hips and she wouldn't be able to run away if the new cat attacked her .. but she is now sleeping on the livingroom chair and the new one is sleeping on the staircase..
A new Aldi has opened up just 1 mile along the road so I sent hubby for the veggie offer... Leeks, carrots, potatoes & turnip... so I decided to make veggie soup.. :A
Threw some chicken thighs (skin and bone on for flavour) into my soup pot and then chopped up 1 leek, 3 carrots, 1 celery stick and some potatoes.. I had a cabbage left so I chopped up a little for the soup.. Covered the lot in water and then added a couple of stock cubes.. and let it simmer away for about 1 and 1/2 hours.. I then took the potato masher and mashed the bigger pieces down.. I added seasoning and some parsley out of the garden.. It was still a bit watery so I added 1/2 pkt of instant potatoes... and it thickened up nicely... I waited until it got cold and removed the chicken thighs... took off the meat and threw it back into the pot.. I would say that the soup almost filled the large pot (of three) when it was finished.. I froze half and beloved is having it for tea.. I can't touch veggies unfortunately, but he says it's lovely... he says the same about a Tunnock's teacake so it really means nothing ... lol...
I started reading the posts about the clothes sizes but I'll have to re-read them tomorrow when I have a bit more peace.. The 2 kittens (6 months old) that I have had for 4 days are busy walking over my keyboard and chewing through the lead for the laptop so I am stopping while I am winning.. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I don't normally take in more than 2 cats but we have reached desperation at the moment and how do you say no ?????
Catch you all again....:)

Lunch was a child's portion of good thick gammon, egg, a few chips, peas, and child's portion of churro's with ice cream. The portions are very filling and with a huge bowl of tea it was under £6, so good value for lunch out in excellent company.0

Hi All
My Fish Pie was lovely, just exactly what we wanted on a cold miserable day, something hot and filling (and low in fat/cals for me).
Done really well todayand even went without chocolate!
