  • Hi Knit Witch, Just to say I STS this week ...

I'll post again at the beginning of the week ... I have to go out now with hubby to pick up an abandoned cat ... The charity is awash with cats as people abandon their cats during holidays ...

    Bye for now :)

My first thought was the same as Knit Witch's...ask for vouchers, and if you spend them in the sales you'll get even more for your money :)

Or do you shop at a supermarket which gives you vouchers? You could spend some on a new outfit?

    Car boot sales?

I'm a yo-yo dieter...I have some baggy tops for my fat moments, but I've found that they look very nice cinched in at the waist by a belt when I'm slimmer...maybe just try a belt?

some excellent ideas - thank you - I'm not intending to put the weight back on either, although I did have a chocolate cake bar the other day
what a disappointment! - my fantasies about chocolate cake (its been so long since I've had any) were much better than the real thing.
If I put my clothes away I feel its a bit like admitting to failure before I've even reached my goal though and I cant do this again - i've only got so much will power.
Just for information the belt thing only works if you have belt loops...
not that I've stood there with the tops of my knickers showing as the skirt made off leaving the belt standing...but it might have been someone who looked very much like me...only fatter ( ha! that'll teach her)

:rotfl:of course that wasn't you! :rotfl:
I didn't really think about skirts...the belt thing works on longer tops and tunic tops...I've cut belt loops off tops and dresses, I don't like the look of them, and then I can place the belt exactly where I want it.

If you're sure you're not keeping the "big" clothes, then get the scissors out and be creative!

Welcome to less of you sparklychar :rotfl:

Do you want to join in the current weight loss challenge?

    Hello Everyone! *waves*

Thank you, but I will give this one a miss for now, see how I get on. Already with debt challenges and what-not I don't wish to add too much more pressure at the moment.

That said, I've not had the best first day.... started off OK, but then has gone downhill tonight!

B: 2 slices granary toast with light olive spread, half a tin of beans and 1 egg. 3 cups of tea with skimmed milk throughout the day.

L: 2 small fruit teacakes with light olive spread.

S: at an event this evening, had half a glass of wine and 6/7 canapes :(

D: 12 chicken dippers, ketchup and peas. I'm at my mum's alone, I think this causes me to regress somewhat....! Also having some full fat lemonade.

Ah well, could have been worse! Did get up a bit of a sweat cleaning today!

Hope everyone else has had a good day! xx

sparklychar I tried the sugar free Polo's once. And only once. They're disgusting! _pale_. Will give tic tacs a try, not sure what they cost which I have to take into consideration too, packs of 5 tubes of Polo's in @sd@ and half the price of anywhere else. Thanks for the suggestion, will let you know how I get on with them

B - spicy, fruity porridge, ss milk

No probs sparrer. May I ask how you make your spicy fruity porridge? Sounds lush, I love raisin/cinnamon/warm spiced flavours.

Seems most news is good news this week, a huge well done for everyone for trying x x

I'm happy to say I've lost 3lb this week keeping an eye with MFP def seems to be working for me..

Some amazing advice from everyone but totally love the get up and do something every advert ! I shall be doing this til it becomes a.habit especially the evenings.

Can any of you lovely curvier bummed ladies give me an idea of sizes in general Tesco/asdas/ sains etc if I'm a Evans 26 at just above 20 stone, any idea very roughly how much to lose for a 22 in supermarkets x

    Hello JustKaren!

Asd@ and Sainsbos do size 24s, Mr T's do have a larger range that I'm sure go up and past size 26, though the regular range goes up to 22, which I'm in at the mo at 19st6, but I'm 5'9"

If you keep losing 3lbs every week you'll be in there in no time! Evans sizes are fairly generous I believe, but with the supermarkets, particularly Mr A and Mr T I find to be a little bit variable and unreliable for sizing as they are cheaper?

Perhaps give it a go in a stone or so's time, and don't be disheartened if the first thing doesn't fit, it will depend on the style etc.

I realise that this post isn't the most helpful!!!!

Quick update...I didn't have chips etc for tea, I had the left over soup, it wasn't as nice as usual, and the only thing different in it was a thick broccoli stalk. Then I had a portion of xmas pudding ...I'm trying to use up things in my cupboard, and this was about 6 months out of date already...not the best choice on a diet, but I didn't want to waste it!
