    Welcome sparklychar :hello:

sparrer...I used to keep jelly babies in the car for long journeys, another habit that's had to go!
Polo mints are only 6 calories a sweetie (yes, I'm that sad, I checked :rotfl:)...well worth it for the rage crunching satisfaction IMO :)

My family is NOT helping. Yesterday my wonderful brother brought home a dozen Krispy Kremes. A dozen. Of those addictive little discs of pure naughtiness! Thankfully, I resisted. And today my dad walked in with apple and raspberry muffins. Filled with fresh cream. I've resisted so far.. They're currently sitting in the fridge and that's where they shall stay until someone else gobbles them. I hope it's soon so I don't have to see them!

Families don't make it easy do they? Certainly test your willpower sometimes. I don't know what Krispy Kremes are, but they sound nice, something else to resist!
I've lost 1/2 a lb in two weeks...
I was getting all ..woohoo about loosing weight
but non of my lovely clothes fit...which I know should also be woohoo...but I'm going to have to sell them in order to buy some more...
ok these are not my scumming around - day to day clothes...but those odd lovely bits that make me feel a bit special, and that I spent sooooolong finding at prices I could afford - or second hand.
Now I just have scumming around clothes..and they dont fit either...a bit blue today I think:(

cheeswright, I read your post twice before I got it...is the problem that your clothes are too BIG?
(I don't have this problem yet!)
Can anything be altered? Or can you ask for something new for xmas? (I couldn't do this myself, I like to choose my own clothes :))

I'm starting to feel a bit deprived (I'm not really though!)...
it's just the end of summer, and feeling cold :(...I've worked out it's costing me £6 a day if I put the heating on low, so I really want to keep it off as long as possible, but I've given in this afternoon...and I'm wearing 4 layers and I'm still cold!
I go to bed at night, with lovely warm blankets, and I lie there...cold! I guess I'm just what they call a "right cauld tattie" :)
    I hate winter.

Anyway, this is not relevant to a weight loss forum, except that feeling like this makes me want to eat nice comforting things.
I have planned left over home made soup for tea, and it's not appealing at all...I want chips, and pizza, or Chinese...

Went o pick the kids up from school yesterday and it was bucketing it down, only when I got to the school did I realise I'd manage to zip my coat up instead of stratigic buttoning, think its the first time I've used that zip :rotfl::rotfl:

Me too :rotfl: no more pretending I want to wear my coat open, it zips up nicely now!
Maybe I should put it on in the house, might help warm me up :rotfl:

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Weigh-in this morning showed 1 1/2 lb GAIN. :( I'm currently sulking and having a day off! :o

Tomorrow I'll be back with a plan for a really tough week - no snacks, no treats, and meals of the smallest portions I can manage of the lowest-calorie meals I can come up with. If I still don't lose any weight I'll give up and try again in the spring, and spend the rest fo the cold months concentrating on maintaining what I've already lost, which I'm sure this thread will be equally helpful with!

Well done to everyone who's tried this week, whether you've succeeded or not.
Back after a very long break!

Well done on the coats :D

I bought LOADS of new bras this week as there were sales on M&S, Boux Avenue and I had a code for Bravissimo....so I literally bought about 12 bras. Got a mixture of 34 and 36 backs to try and was very pleased to find the 34s were fine. The letter part is still a very very big letter but that is ok, I like my kazungas! Also I was trying them all on for my husband (not as sexy as it sounds, he was folding laundry and saying 'mm hmm that is nice darling' without even looking at me) and he said (without me having told him I have lost 4lbs) that my waist looks slimmer.

On another note....none of you look at the 'what's for dinner' thread, do you? *whistles innocently* :o I always feel like I am outing myself when I post on there if any of the diet ladies see :rotfl:

yes sorry if i wasn't clear - I keep getting up and putting on things which used to get me compliments - and now I look like a badly made bed.
I'm loosing weight for a variety of reasons, but looking better was definitely up there amongst them..and actually - because I cant afford different clothes - I look ...I don't know...scruffy ?
I know its a stupid thing to moan about really - but I do just have the odd thing I really loved to wear....
I've only lost about six inches off my waist in total - but some clothes - skirts especially - are a bit dangerous to wear out in case they part company with me.
I've taken some things in - but others are too complicated and they're just going to have to go, so that I can have the money for something else.

Clothes for presents is a good idea though..but perhaps I'll have to work out some way to choose them myself.
oh well I should just shake myself off and say "onwards and thinwards" or something similar

Cheeswright - could you ask for vouchers for your shop of choice? eg Debenhams or Next or where ever?

Can any of you lovely curvier bummed ladies give me an idea of sizes in general Tesco/asdas/ sains etc if I'm a Evans 26 at just above 20 stone, any idea very roughly how much to lose for a 22 in supermarkets x

Most if my clothes come from Sainsburys, I'm 5ft 3 at 17st I could wear some of their size 22s tops and joggers, their sizes really vary. I guess around sixteen stone ish would be comfortable for most of their 22s. I bought size 22 jeans when I got to that weight for a tenner and they fit nice. They do size 24s in a lot of things too, much more than they used to have. (Another 25% off promo coming the end of the month too) Evans are so expensive and poor quality aren't they. Hth x

Oops, I meant the doughnuts! It's unheard of for them to last so long in this house, they're usually polished off within a few hours of arriving but this time there are still two left!

And to add to that.. I've just been given a tin of Celebrations chocs :rotfl: my willpower is certainly being tested this week. I haven't opened them, I might give them away :)

We celebrate Eid on Tuesday so goodies galore.. I can only hope that my willpower lasts until then :o

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at the "badly made bed" sorry.

It's not a silly thing to moan about, part of the reward of losing weight is feeling good about how you look.

My first thought was the same as Knit Witch's...ask for vouchers, and if you spend them in the sales you'll get even more for your money :)

Or do you shop at a supermarket which gives you vouchers? You could spend some on a new outfit?

    Car boot sales?

I'm a yo-yo dieter...I have some baggy tops for my fat moments, but I've found that they look very nice cinched in at the waist by a belt when I'm slimmer...maybe just try a belt?

What you really need is a visit from officeguru, she's the sewing expert, she can even make jeans from scratch!

ETA...I should say I WAS a yo-yo dieter, I do not intend regaining this weight!
