Hi all
Sorry for the quietness over the past week - I was 'service crew' for a local hike at the weekend. Four of my scouts walked 45 miles in 12 hours 50 minutes (given a maximum completion time of 18 hours) and came 7th out of 14 on their very first attempt so I was extremely proud! Unfortunately this meant being stuck in a car for 16 hours, with only snacks and high carb food to snack on. Having said that, I had poached egg on toast for breakkie, a Mr M's salad for lunch and a couple of sausage rolls so not too bad (and we stopped at Maccy D's and I only had coffee!) but hey ho - meant I STS last week but forgot to post!
This week I am really hoping for STS - I have a beer festival tomorrow AND Friday and then am out with a girlfriend Saturday so am expecting high damage!! It is an unusual week those as vary rarely go out.
Following the hike at the weekend me and the other leader who did service crew decided we are going to enter next year, except the category we are entering is the extreme version - 80 miles over the South Downs (hilly) within 24 hours... means I need to get practicing as I can walk at 3.5 miles an hour but it is maintaining it for that long and over hills... very much a challenge but we are hoping to do it to help raise money for our Scouts as we are hoping to go to America in 2016
KraftyKat I also measure myself weekly as it helps me keep motivated if I haven't lost anything; normally on a week when I have done a lot of exercise I will lose a few cms but no weight
Fingers crossed for this week! xxDebt Free by 2015: £5839.01/£13000 1% challenge = 44.91%CAMRA Member: Drinking Ale doesn't make me any less of a woman :beer:0 -

Yup, that happened!
Absolutely!! I find it sometimes depends on what time of the month it is. I'm always ravenous the weekend before my period starts!
I just wanted to share that I didn't eat any crisps yesterday!! Hoping for 2 days in a row!!
daisiegg, try not to worry, it is very early days! my doctor told me it could take some women up to a year for their periods to regulate after being on the pill and she mentioned nothing about weight! it's just that all women are different!Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):

Good afternoon all
Just got back from my walk. The sun decided to show itself just as I got home lol. I might go to the local park to enjoy it.
Breakfast: half a banana
Lunch: another Boots Shapers meal deallast one! It was 380 calories in total so not too bad.
Snacks: will be fruit
Dinner: sausages and mash if all goes to plan!
I walked 4 miles but I'm not sure if it's done much good - I was exhausted so it was much slower than usual! Still, it's better than nothing I suppose. I still have another mile to walk today.
Picked up a hot cheese and onion pasty in the Co Op just to see how many calories - 700!! put it down sharpish.
daisiegg I wouldn't worry too much, as others have said. I myself am bordering on obese and I haven't had this problem.. It usually takes a while for your body to settle after coming off the pill.
Knit Witch you may have to get those sharp knitting needles ready to poke meI feel myself losing motivation a bit..

Afternoon all
Today i had a slice of hummous on toast for breakfast, an apple for mid-morning snack, bacon and egg salad for lunch, and 2 ginger nut biscuits as a snack.
Dinner will be carbonara with garlic bread. Not the most low fat/cal meal, i know, but i am approaching this weight loss as a long term thing and as long as i keep the snacks under control i am sure it'll come off
Worked for 3 hours this morning. I am a self-employed cleaner and i work about 14-18 hours a week. This is the only exercise i do, and i work up a real sweat. It works muscles that i didnt even know i had before! So it's a workout in itself.0 -
Thanks ladies for your kind responses
Even though the conversation with my sister upset me it did make me feel quite motivated. Hoping for a loss this week and sneaky scale checks look fairly positive.
Today...
B - bran flakes with a banana and soya milk
L - 100g roasted veg couscous (200 cals), 3 rice cakes (90 cals) with 30g dairy free cream cheese spread (90 cals) and some sliced cherry tomatoes (30 cals), cup of tea with soya milk
D - (planning) WeightWatchers ready meal that I didn't have yesterday (320 cals) with steamed broccoli, leeks and maybe some peas as well.
Feeling a bit stressed out (again!) as work want to increase my hours even more. I can't really say no. Still, I suppose if I am working I am on my feet burning some cals and I can't be eating, and it is all more money I guess.0 -
Early breakfast today, 1 egg omelette with spinach and grated cheese.
Snack Greek yogurt with berry compote and granola (at M&S caf!, very hungry by 11 because of extremely early breakfast)
Lunch 2 chunks homemade sourdough bread with some blue cheese, salad, a glass of homemade apple juice
Dinner will be bean and vegetable pasta soup, a bit of rhubarb crumble with a tbsp. of crème fraicheFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I think the no sugar finally caught up with me today, to the point I almost blacked out when I went out for a cup of tea with my friend. :-/
I've only been cutting sugar out for 10 days and thought the headaches were finally going! So had a muffin in the caf! to see if that would perk me up a bit.
so for today:
banana and porridge
muffin in caf! Neros
chicken and pesto sandwich
orange juice
roast chicken with potatoes, parsnips, carrots and courgettes plus bread sauce
I'm getting quite worked up now that I will weigh myself after 2 weeks and have lost nothing. Still got a bit of a headache and a perpetually dry mouth.0 -
I've just had a muffin as well, Frith, as my sandwich and fruit juice lunch clearly wasn't enough and I was starting to get so hungry I felt unwell.
The muffin was meant to be part of my dinner - it's soup and pudding night - so it just means it got eaten at a different time.
Back after a very long break!0
