    Morning all :)

I need some help please.. I'm feeling quite cold and miserable, really can't face my usual walk :( I also know they I don't want to give it up, I've tried too hard!
I've been walking for 1.5 hours every day, is there any sort of similar exercise I can do at home? I don't have any fancy exercise equipment. Plus, I have to avoid abdominal exercises.

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Utube has hundreds of workouts ! If you type in walking workouts there's loads there, my fav for general fitness is justdance 4 on the wii or if you havent got a wii pop your fav cd on and dance for 30 mins you will really feel it !

Ha ha , my exercise bike is in the lounge in the Christmas tree spot as well, there's nowhere else to put it :rotfl:

Thanks for all your suggestions re DM and cake...

update - saw my DM this morning...politely said her apple sponge had spoilt my diet yesterday (which is a bit unfair, it was me eating it that caused the problem :))
explained I'd had my food planned - she told me the cake wouldn't make any difference to my diet...
Told her I plan my meals and know how much I should be eating - she said "I DON'T CARE" - what???

I don't get it, she's usually a very reasonable woman, we don't fall out, but she has a real block when it comes to me eating healthily. In her eyes, me having the treat is the most important thing.

I'm going to have to be the stronger woman...it's up to me what actually goes in my mouth...in future things I don't want will be frozen or passed to skinny relatives :)
Nobody said life was going to be easy...

Have you tried the route of asking for a tub of blueberries or grapes, or maybe some frozen yog etc or is it baking and goodies is her thing x

It's definitely the baking and goodies...when our family come home from abroad she bakes constantly (and sends them home fatter than when they came!)...I think it's her way of showing she cares, it's the act of making it.

Maybe she's too old to change, and realise that it's not really caring to constantly try to feed people cake when they're already overweight, I'll just keep plugging away saying no.

Re crisps (and other no-no's) it may be stating the obvious but just don't buy them? If I had them in the house they'd be gone in a flash, so I avoid naughty snack areas of the sm, it saves money and cal's.

I know what you're saying, and I wish it was that simple, but I am in love with crisps! They make me so happy! I am addicted! So as you say, I do not buy them on my big shops because if I ever buy a multipack or a big bag, I will without exception polish the entire bag off in one sitting! I have been known to eat 20 small bags in a row!

So when I do buy them, it is single bags (usually 2) from the local shop often on a daily basis...so it is this habit I am trying to break. At the moment, I have been having them every other day, and am trying to gradually reduce until it is one day a week as it was leading up to my wedding when I was delighted with my weight. None today yet, but I will have to see how I go the rest of the day!!

Go cold turkey LisaJane! (that's only my opinion, you don't really have to :))

I have been known to walk down the sweetie aisle in the sm, going "no, no, no, I don't eat these any more" :rotfl:

Like sparrer says, if you don't buy them, you can't eat them.

I cannot purchase pringles, or jaffa cakes...that would be a big mistake :rotfl:

Thanks for the tips :) I've noted them for a rainy day. Why didn't I think of youtube?!

I forced myself to go out as it wasn't raining, it was just me being a bit grumpy :D I had a lovely walk, 5.5 miles in total. I feel so much better for it.

Brunch: Fruit and Fibre, banana, glass of orange juice
Snacks: apple, three breadsticks with a cheesy spring onion dip (under 100 calories in total so not tooooo bad I think!), funsize pear
Dinner: roast tandoori-style chicken with roast potatoes, roast carrots, peas, Yorkshire puds and gravy.
    Exercise: walked 5.5 miles

I'll have to make sure I have a small portion, or else I'll undo all the good work I've put in today!

I really hope the exercising and cutting out sugary, unhealthy snacks has made a difference - It's a bit soon to tell but I live in hope!

LisaJane - well done you :D good luck for the rest of the day!

Good evening. Have eaten too much today although it was fairly healthy. I've got to cut out the snacks :O

2 x wm seeded toast with rf butter and cheese spread.
    2 pumpkin seed oatcakes
Bowl of h&m chick, noodle sweetcorn soup & small choc bar
Bag of French fries. :o. It's all the crisp talk on here :rotfl:
Pan fried chicken breast with fresh mixed veg and a massive corn on the cob. Sugar free jelly and a spoon of ff greek yogurt.

    Too much!

Awwww too much hm apple crumble! And custard! And earlier on, biscuits which I normally don't even like.

Realised that I need to eat more, and more protein, at breakfast to make it till lunchtime and have a decent lunch with protein content to make it to dinner time without massive drops in blood sugar.

When I was low carbing I never had the sugar drop problem, but was eating too much cheese. Now I have started introducing "good" carbs again and reducing the proteins I am getting the faint feeling mid morning and mid afternoon again.

Tomorrow is my start of sugar cold turkey. My October challenge!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
