Evening,:D. started my new job today. New job, new lifestyle. I have piled 1 1/2 stone on over the past 18 months and hardy any of my clothes fit so I really need to do something about it. :o
    Today was:
2 x wm, seeded toast with rf buter & marmite.
LO fish gratin with carrots, 4 Brazil nuts & a snack size choc bar :o
Lots of nibbled roast chicken whilst stripping the carcass and then chicken, noodle and sweetcorn soup
    Small cereal bar

I thought I'd done ok till I've seen it written down. not good at all is it? :(

My biggest downfall is red wine, I'm really determined to reduce it.

Hope you've all had a better day x

Snack: Cherry tomatoes, cucumber and carrots. Tea.

Good Morning Chums,a new month and even more determined to stay on the wagon foodwise :):)
    Today I shall have
B; mushroom omelette (I fancy something different )
    L : crispbread and soup
D; not sure as its pub quiz night and we get a meal thrown in with the quiz
S : Fruit to keep me going until a later meal this evening
I haven't had any bread now since I came home from my holidays in August and I feel so much better for it,less bloated and I just 'feel' thinner IYSWIM.Can't honestly say I've missed it.This weekend will be a tester as I'm off to France on Friday morning to see my brother and where he lives its very rural (nearest SM is 60 kms away. The local village about 3 miles away does make its own bread and croisannts so it will be hard not to have some. I am only there two days so what ever I eat it won't pile on much hopefully :):):)
    Onwards and upwards chums

    Morning everyone :)

Just Karen...good luck with giving up crisps :)
I gave up chocolate in January, I've tripped up a few times...I found if I had "just one bar" the craving got me and I wanted more...but I think I've had 6 or 7 bars this year, which is a lot better than if I hadn't tried to give it up. I haven't had any for almost 3 months now. Hopefully once you break the habit of picking up the crisps you will find it easier to ignore them :)

I'm not sure I could I give up bread, it's such a staple in our house...I do wonder sometimes if it would make a difference, but I think it's a step too far!

Haven't lost so much as an ounce so far this challenge...remind me, why am I forcing myself out to walk every day???
I know, it's only day 4, I think I'm getting impatient like daisiegg :rotfl:

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

Oopsy, I also had a small glass of red wine (half a glass really) and one of those small Green and Blacks (15g I think) bars of dark chocolate. They were sorely needed. After spending about 11 hours yesterday planning my lessons for my possible observations this week (it is like an internal Ofsted where they could come into any lesson so each lesson has to be ready) there was an email last night from our head of department passing on feedback he had received from yesterday's round of observations.

Basically, everything that people supposedly did wrong in yesterday's obs.....are things I have put into my lesson plans :(:(:( so I need to do them all over again. I cried and cried and cried last night. It just feels so hopeless. Especially as these 'wrong' things are things that up until right now, were what we had been told we were meant to be doing! They keep changing the goalposts and it is impossible to keep up.

On that note.....I'm on strike today!! Not exactly the best striker as I will be spending hours and hours planning and marking. But still.

Today's plan....(let's see if I can stick to it any better)

B - bran flakes with strawberries and soya milk, tea
L - WW soup (hm now run out), apple
D - prawn, cherry tomato and rocket pasta

    NO wine and NO chocolate!

Was planning to mow the lawn for exercise but that was before I had to replan all my lessons, and it also looks like rain. Might try and get a walk on the treadmill to clear my head if nothing else.

Hope everyone has a great day! Sorry for my whinges....I really am actually a sunny, positive person in real life....just all the worries seem to want to come out on the Internet! Sorry!

On bread and crisps - I am not a huge crisp fan as I hate salty food, but I sometimes buy the salt your own type, and just don't salt them. I really like them and if they are in the house I will eat a pack a day until they are gone - but if I don't buy them I don't miss them or crave them or anything.

As for bread, that is another thing where if it is there I will eat too much of it, but if it's not there I won't miss it or think about it. We very rarely buy loaves of bread as we would never get through a loaf, being only two of us. Sometimes we will have a bagel for weekend breakfast or lunch, and I do keep half a loaf in the freezer for emergency toast, but it very rarely gets used.

Good luck on giving up the crisps JustKaren and very well done on your bread efforts JackieO, have a lovely time en France!
  • Morning!

Got through day 1 with no dramas, let's just see if I'm still this happy by the end of the week though.

    Yesterday's food:

B: Porridge made with cinnamon and water
S: Banana, then an apple later on
L: Chicken and rice pot bought from Tossed, pineapple
D: HM Bean chilli w/ sweet potato wedges (done with frylight)
    S: 1/2 bowl veggie soup

    Today:

B: Porridge made with cinnamon and water
    S: Banana, apple
    L: Veggie soup
D: Bean chilli w/ sweet potato

I meant to grab a pepper from the fridge this morning for this afternoon incase the soup isn't enough to get me through but I forgot so I might nip out and pick up some fruit/veg to snack on. Porridge with water is grim, I need to pick up some dairy substitute if this is going to work long term. Need to get through this week as cheap as possible though since we're off to Greece next week so need to keep spends for then. So gruel for breakfast every day it is! Hope everyone has a good day. daisiegg, I'm sorry to hear that you are having a tough time of it, I have a lot of teacher friends and I don't envy any of you, I think you are all totally undervalued.
