Thanks KW :) I wont bother joining in with the WLC because i only weigh myself every 3-4 months. I'll just plod along with the WL chat and then post my weight as and when i know it.

I will be doing the same and WI at the end of the challenge - I just get discouraged and obsessed otherwise x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Today OH and I went into town and were going to eat lunch in the asda cafe, but they didn't have anything except omelettes and sausage rolls, so we considered going to mcd's instead. OH really didn't want to give in and go to mcd's, as he has somehow put on 2 pounds, so we decided to go to greggs (not much better), which saved me 661 calories compared with what I would have had at mcd's. We did do about 4 hours of walking around the shops so hopefully burnt off a few calories.

B Bran flakes with sultanas, banana and semi skimmed milk
L cheese and onion pasty, a bag of cheese and onion crisps and a latte
D half a thin crust cheese pizza and 2 cheese and onion potato skins
    S special k cereal bar
E 4 hours walking and half an hour of housework

OH and I are both off work for the next week, and I've given him strict instructions not to suggest a cereal bar with each cup of coffee like he usually does, lol!

Went to a chilli festival event and had lots of nibble snacks there so another non slimming day. Awwww....

    B. muesli with apple compote and nut milk, small rye toast with tsp jam and seed butter
    L. 2 bowls bean and squash soup
    S. crackers with chilli jam, bits of bread, tortilla chips with chili tasters
    D. Fried fish (oven died so could not bake or grill), steamed peas and carot, chicory and avocado salad, leftover apple crumble
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Morning all I survived my Dds Saturday night 25th wedding anniversary party with no alcohol ,(didn't need or miss it).
Ate salad and cold chicken, very nice as DD make a delicious salad with all the things I like in it and dress's it very lightly with garlic olive oil, and my only sin was a very small piece of cake which I removed the icing from.So I came home feeling virtuous and full.:):)
Yesterday was pretty good as well
    B;Cereal and banana
L:crispbread and sliced tomato and cucumber
D: Roast Lamb piles of veggies and only two tiny roasties.DD made an Eton mess for pudding without the cream, and we had instead strawberry yoghurt and fresh strawberries and raspberries smashed up in a small meringue nest .I think she got the meringues' from Asdas and they were only 53 cal each so fairly low in cals for a pud.It was delicious and we really enjoyed it.
Diet nurse this Wednesday for weigh in I go once a fortnight, so I can always see if my scales are OK and weighing correctly.
keep up the good work chums we will win the battle of the bulge :):)

Good morning everyone - I am officially back on the wagon!

In a bit of despair as I weighed myself this morning to get a starting weight and it is soooooo bad. I have gained a stone since the wedding! I was chuckling reading through the thread at you all talking about how 'it goes on slowly so it will come off slowly' - mine doesn't go on slowly, it piles on at the speed of a race car! I only wish it would come off as fast!

Work is utter hell at the moment, I have never been so stressed in my life. Our GCSE results this summer were not as good a usual. It reflects a national picture and actually they are still the best in the county. But instead of thinking 'right, the goal posts are obviously changing and it is harder to get the grades than it used to be, what do we need to change and put into place to support our students?' those in charge have basically gone on a witch hunt. We are being randomly observed all the time, checked up on, and it is terrible. I only work part time and yet I have been spending most waking minutes working. No idea how the full timers are managing it. The pressure is awful and needless to say, eating healthily has been the last thing on my mind :(

Anyway - worse things happen at sea and I should not use it as an excuse. So here I am starting properly again.

Food for the day should be:
B - cereal with strawberries, tea
    L - hm vegetable soup
D - rissoles made with leftover roast pork, piles of veg

It is my day off and I have loads of work to do (as usual) so chances are there will be more cups of tea during the day, but if I want snacks I will limit myself to strawberries, apple or carrot sticks.

Good luck with the new challenge everyone!
  • Starting today and feeling very postive at the moment. Not sure how long it will be before I start flagging, but I will persevere, need to keep reminding myself that I want to be fabulous by thirty!

I've just had my porridge, got a banana and apple here and a cup of herbal tea so all set, I'll pick up an innocent veg pot for lunch and make a big pot of soup tonight to do lunches for the rest of the week. Going cold turkey on caffeine so hopefully I'll be sleeping better by the end of the week.

Hope everyone else is feeling positive about the new challenge, looking forward to getting to know you all!
