Knit Witch - am I right in thinking that the new challenge starts today? If so, do we post our start weight on here or.....?
Thank you for doing this for us :)

The challenge has started today yes :D, but you don't have to post your start weight unless you really, REALLY want to - most people just post week on week their losses or gains :p

Having said that I will post mine - since doing these challenges along side you wonderful people I have gone from 23 stone 11 lb to my starting weight on this challenge of 21 stone on the nose :o, still a long way to go but I WILL get there
    Must use my stash up!

Sue14...you and your workmates aren't exactly scoffing the biscuits if they're still there from August :rotfl:
I think I'd be tempted quite a lot! I cope with biscuits at home by buying ones I'm not bothered about, and never buying my favourites (no Jaffa cakes in this house :()

Bit stiff and sore this morning, think I'll just catch up on housework today...and hoping to have a walk with friend later, looks like it might stay dry.

My birthday was in August, but I didn’t take the biscuits in until the beginning of this month, and there were some other biscuits already in the cupboard at the time. I’m usually good at resisting the naughty cupboard while I’m in my determined frame of mind, but sometimes it depends on who I’m working with, lol! I don’t buy biscuits for at home anymore, except low cal bars (go ahead/special k or similar), which are up to 99 cals per biscuit, and I try to limit them to 1 per day with a latte when OH and I get home from work.

    Hi All

Nothing much to report today except that I am getting another little cat. He's 2 years old and terrified of everyone and of life in general.

My back has been crippling me since I got back so I am taking it easy...

Aw bless, I hope he settles in ok. Take care with your back, I've suffered with back problems for years, so you have my full sympathy.

Thank you for all the lovely welcomes! I need to be honest otherwise this is going to be pointless! I had some chocolates that have been lurking in the office with a cup of coffee there. I had to get petrol earlier and picked up a sneaky packet of scampi fries...so naughty!! Ahhhhh!

Definitely have to be honest about what you're eating, as it's only yourself you're cheating if you're not. Don't worry too much about little 'slip ups' we all have them, just try to stay under your calorie goal as much as possible and never give up.

Well this week I have been quite good (although I must admit I had 3 pieces of the shortbread at work on Wednesday, including 1 piece with chocolate on it :o), and have stayed under my calorie goal every day so far, so I am a bit miffed to have STS this week! Maybe there's something to be said for eating more, as when I go over my calorie goals I lose, and on really bad weeks I've lost 2lbs!? Oh well, on to the next challenge!

Last weigh-in of the old challenge and it's a rather disappointing STS. I'm really struggling for motivation at the moment: I'm determined that, this time, I will keep off the weight I lose while following this thread, but all I keep thinking is that I'm going to have to live like this forever, which really is not a happy thought. :( I guess I'm going to have to convince myself it's not as bad as I think at the moment, but I don't know how. :undecided

    Today is:

B - two thick slices of HM malted grain bread, with lots of butter and 4 slices of gravadlax (that's not good, is it? :o); apple
D - braised steak with onions and mushrooms, served with some steamed carrots and a few steamed baby new potatoes, which I hope is healthy enough to make up for breakfast! :o Plus a couple of glasses of white wine, as I opened the bottle last night and it's too good a bottle of wine to waste now it's open

Well done to everyone who's lost weight this week, and onwards and upwards to us all!
Back after a very long break!

I remember hearing or reading somewhere that you should leave the table satisfied, but not so full that you couldn’t sit and eat the same amount again.

I often eat my meal and think I could eat it all again, so I must be doing something right :rotfl:

CCP, I too wonder how I can keep this up forever...I tell myself that I'm managing at the moment, and if I'm maintaining instead of trying to lose, I'll be able to have more each day.
But we all know how quickly it can go back on, and after all this effort to lose it, I don't want it back!

I am glad to sit down tonight, have just put third coat of paint on...only one wall, so not as bad as it sounds :)...it was awkward because the ceiling's not high enough to use a ladder, so I've been climbing on and off a chair all day (and I have a hurty knee, so it was painful...please tell me you've seen the you-tube clip with the hurty knee :))

I haven't had time for a walk today, and I should go out (because I've just eaten 4 slices of pizza ssshh) but I can't be bothered...oh well, there's always tomorrow :)

ETA: I'd just like to mention that it was slightly more awkward climbing onto the chair because my painting jeans are loose, and kept slipping down a bit :D

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

Lots of walking and on the go all day cooking, allotment, cleaning. Tired but feeling I have achieved a lot.

    B. 2 slices vege-bacon, 1 fried egg, mushrooms
    L. Beetroot, cheese and mixed leaves salad, small slice rye bread, hm yogurt with pear and almonds
    S. small slice rye, seed butter, tsp jam. Apple
    D. Crustless courgette and artichoke quiche, stewed greens, 1 small boiled potato, salad, small portion hm apple crumble with soured cream

    Good night!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Morning All,

Yesterday was a total write off – I had way too much alcohol on Friday night…….into the early hours of Saturday (hangs head in shame) :o . I tried to start the day off as normal with yoghurt & stewed apples and copious amounts of water but as the day went on needed the sugar hit and had a raspberry jam sandwich and more water for lunch. The obligatory snooze in the afternoon then couldn’t be bothered cooking but after skimming through then ignoring the Chinese takeaway menu :A - settled for corned beef, oven chips & pickled beetroot.

So, with new resolve, a much more settled stomach and clear head I’m ready to start the new challenge today.

    B – Boiled egg & soldiers
L – Lentil & tomato soup, hm cheese scone
D – hm Lasagne, broccoli and the last of my home grown courgettes.

Pretty please can i join in with this thread? I need the support as i get really bored easily!

I started off at 11st 12lbs, and got down to 11st 2lbs in 7 months, and i have just weighed myself again today (2 months after the last time-i dont weigh often and dont own scales) and i have lost 3lbs..bringing me to just under 11st for the first time in AGES!!

7lbs to go and then i'll be in the normal category for my height!

    Hi all!

Just checking in, I've lost 1.5lbs :T since this challenge started - and have found that 1300 to 1400 calories a day works for me, as I amn't feeling restricted (hungry) as I was on 1200, and I can also have the odd treat too. Would like to lose faster, but I think this is a more realistic way forward  Tracking on MFP helps too and I like the additional calories I am allowed for exercise, so that encourages more activity :p

Hope this post isn't too late!

    Tx
