Hiyas all Ive just fallen into this thread, I am a dieter of the worse kind always looking for the easy way and to be honest have been on a diet since I was 8 and I am now 42 hmm long time huh.. So I really know everything inside out its just doing it I fail at lol...

I am a slimming world lapsed member and had a lot of success with it but recently fell in love with exercise was exercising most days for at least 90 mins and the scales stopped dropping and it stressed me out bigtime in fact I am still missing exercise badly I found it lifted my mood stopped me picking but then MSE part of me kicked in refused to pay money to gain weight so stopped the exercise bike and walking and stuck to plan but I need a challenge...

Can I ask do you all calorie count here (I have read first two posts ) and last 10 pages and wow what a lovely supportive group, I so love how basic your daily meal plans are just good food no syns healthy extras etc, and everyones losing and exercising ?? how lol I have a MFP account and really get the daily diary bit but again I was told as exercising I need to eat more cals etc so I am now baffled as to where to start, anyone less confused been in my position ?? O I just as well say I was 27 stone starting got down to 20 stone last 2 years but now bordering 21 again as stressing ...

Welcome to the madhouse JustKaren and well done on your loss so far :T:T:T, we follow all sorts of eating plans on here, you need to find one that suits you and join in :D, basically Old Style (I think!) is trying NOT to put money in the pockets of the diet industry but following a sensible and sustainable eating plan and exercise plan if you can do it - meanwhile as I say welcome again! :j
    Must use my stash up!

Hi :)-1lb this week, which takes me back to where I was 2 or 3 weeks ago! I have yo-yoed (sp?) up and down with this 1lb for a few weeks now. I'm not very optimistic about losing over the next 13 weeks but I'm going to keep plodding on, if only to make sure I don't go up any more!

Well done to losers and sts'ers :)

Poor wee cats...I don't know how anyone can be cruel to a cat.

We used to have a much loved big cat...when he was about 14 he had a very bad ear infection, which left him with a permanently squint head, he had to learn to walk again...at the vets check up a week after he came home the vet says "I think you can let him go about the house now, but no stairs yet" and DS2 pipes up "he's been coming upstairs to my bed all week!" When he was going up and down the stairs he just leaned on the side wall to keep himself straight :) Cats can always work out a way to get to the comfiest place :)

Are these 2 cats for keeps or are they foster cats?

    Hi Ellie

No, I work for a cat charity and because I am virtually housebound, I get all the 'difficult' cats as I can spend a lot of time with them.. Also, as my grandchildren are in Australia and my other ones live quite far away, I have a quiet house so I have all the time in the world to work my magic.. I would have had dogs but I am not well enough on most days so I wouldn't be able to exercise them..

I've always had pets but they built a bypass at the bottom of our road, so most of the cats have been wiped out.. so for the last 5 years, I have been looking after these cats/kittens and once they are 'normal', they get homed..

Do you realise that it will soon be a year since the toblerone got put on top of the wardrobe ????? I'm going to wrap it up and give it away to someone... who will appreciate a huge bar of white chocolate... :A I'll do that before it goes out of date...:j:j:j

I am having braised beef in wine tonight...

I put a little oil at the bottom of the slow cooker and gently browned the meat as well as a couple of rashers of bacon.. I also had a couple of sausages left in the freezer so they went in as well.. I added a couple of chopped carrots and a quartered onion.. Once it had all sizzled nicely, I stirred in a couple of tblsp of flour and let it cook for a few minutes.. I then added an oxo stock cube, salt & pepper, a couple of bay leaves, and some thyme.. I also threw in some dried wild garlic that I had in the cupboard. I then mixed in 2/3 of a mug of water, and a healthy glug of red wine .. (I had a little port at the bottom of the bottle).. a tblsp of tomato puree.... Stirred it altogether and cooked it on slow for 5 hours.. It's ready now.... so nearer tea-time, I'll add a little cornflour to thicken the sauce and serve it with boiled potatoes and braised cabbage...

    :)

omg mmm, I wish you cooked for me :rotfl:
(yes, I know I could do it for myself, but I'm lazy!)

I wonder if chocolate goes mouldy, I've never kept a bar long enough to find out :rotfl:

Can you tell I'm procrastinating? I'm meant to be decorating, but the preps not done, and I hate that part...I need to sand, and wash walls, and wash new plaster off doors (I don't know if the plasterers were particularly messy, or whether the mess should be expected :)), and wash the windows, and arrange a rug to hide the hole in the carpet...:rotfl:

I'd love to be like the witch in Bewitched, and wiggle my nose, and it was all done...just for a day, I could do a lot of nose-wiggling in a day...:rotfl:

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?
  • Hi,

Knitwitch, could you please put me down for 14 lbs for the new challenge?

I am going to declare yesterday's food, as I think typing it out will help me see that I need to reduce what I eat!!

    B: Muesli
L:Smoked salmon and cumcumber sandwich, banana, apple and yoghurt
D: Chicken, leek and muchroom stroganoff with rice mmmmm

Snacks!!: 2 roses, 5 after eights (thankfully the office chocolates are nearly finished!!), 2 slices of toast, a chocolate time out bar and another yoghurt!!

I was so pleased that I had no crisps yesterday (I do think that I actually have an addiction!!) and I also went to an hour long body combat class.

I woke up today feeling lighter and thought I would plonk myself on the scales and I had actually had lost 1 lb!! :rotfl: I really do think that avoiding the crisps helps, so I am planning to go completely cold turkey on them, keep exercising and see what happens!

LisaJane I went cold turkey on chocolate because I can only eat it all not just a little bit but I don't think I can give up crisps as well! I do limit myself though, I only have Asda smart price plain crisps which are 97 calories and only one pack a day. I should give them up too I know but I don't think I can go without all the nice things.

When I was loosing weight for my wedding, I allowed myself one treat day a week where I could eat whatever I wanted, I think I'm going to try that again this time. There are a few personal trainer people I follow on twitter who all do that, I think it is a good idea, because if you are dying for something you really want, then you know that you can have it on treat day, and you look forward to it, so it's not so bad.

Chocolate is not normally an issue for me...I generally have a small chocolate biscuit with a cup of tea after dinner and it generally doesn't get out of control, so I'm gonna continue to do that and hope that these work chocolates disappear soon!!
