Daisiegg and everyone - I am starting to take sign ups for the next challenge from tomorrow, the last weigh in for the current challenge is next weekend (the new challenge starts a week tomorrow but I know people weigh in right over the weekend so you can get the final scores on the doors on the 30th )

Edit to say - the next one runs for 12 weeks (and then I give you a fortnight off for Yule/Christmas and New Year/Hogmanay!!)

Knit Witch, can I join in the new challenge please?

I didn't keep up last time and was bingeing a lot. I've tried to start walking, but my sciatica in my back/bum and bursitis in my knees is really playing up.

I've been to the drs and he's referring me for physio, so hopefully that will help. He also weighed me and told me that I should get my weight down to help prevent diabetes, cancer, heart disease etc.

I already know I really need to lose weight and I need to get myself focused.

    If I could lose 10lbs in 12 weeks I'd be happy :)
  • Hi everyone

Can I join in please? I've been on a bit of a money diet this last month and have managed to get into a bit of a habit of menu planning, eating from the freezer and bringing food in to work for lunch, but too many slices of cheese on toast and portions of mashed potato are not going to do my already too large waistline any good. So I need to take these principles and make an effort to eat clean whilst still doing it on the cheap.

I would love to lost 2.5-3 stone by my birthday at the end of Jan, so I guess my target is 20lbs by Christmas. I'm going to start on Monday and try to make soups and beans stews for lunches and dinners, cut way back on wheat and sugar and try and get some exercise in. Looking forward to getting to know you all here.

A bit late, but my meal plan for today:

B - LF yoghurt with granola
S - two bites of sponge cake (a supermarket was giving out free tasters and my stomach was rumbling so much I couldn't resist! :o I only had one bit, though.)
L - wholemeal roll with hummous and tomato; small portion of macademia nuts; small bunch of grapes; carton of apple juice
D - leek and cheese quichelet with veg of some sort - I'll have a look and see what's in my veg box when I get home :D

I am being very, very good at the moment, but I'm not sure how much difference it's making - the scales this morning showed a slight gain if anything. :(
Back after a very long break!
  • Hi Knit Witch,

You haven't forgotten to add me to your next challenge ??? :p

I said on my first post that I had lost 3 lbs on my holidays, does that get deducted off now or does it come off my new challenge or the old challenge or what ????:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Does the new challenge start this weekend ???? I will put myself down for 14 lbs... I can't have Sparrer or Ellie thinking that I've sold myself short.... If they have put more lbs than that.... just make mine the same... :D:D:D

I got my second little cat this evening.. She is young from the front but old from the back.. The vet reckons she had a broken pelvis at one time and it never healed properly... I've to watch what she does... Anyway, beloved went to look for her and guess what ???? She's on top of my bed  She managed to get up the stairs and find my bedroom and she is now sleeping in the middle of it.. I hope she hasn't used her claws to pull herself up there... If she has, I'll have to put an old cover on the bed... :(

The cat that arrived earlier, she cries when you go into the room and she tries to fit herself into the smallest space possible... I went up to her today and covered the whole of her face with my hand (I have big hands) and I gently massaged her head and ears.. She loved it.... she started purring... so I left and I'll do the same when I go up in a few hours... :):):)

My back is still crippling me but it hasn't stopped me doing my sheets etc... I was freezing last night so I have put the flannelette sheets on the bed and the winter downy... :j:j:j

Foodwise, nothing exciting as I am doing the VAT returns so that's keeping me busy.. I'm just having baked potato tonight with a cheese omelette..

Well, that's about all folks.... A hearty welcome to all the newbies and hello to all the oldies.... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Catch you all again....

    .

As if OG :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I'm sure you're still well in the lead (even losing pounds while on holiday :rotfl:)

Poor wee cats...I don't know how anyone can be cruel to a cat.

We used to have a much loved big cat...when he was about 14 he had a very bad ear infection, which left him with a permanently squint head, he had to learn to walk again...at the vets check up a week after he came home the vet says "I think you can let him go about the house now, but no stairs yet" and DS2 pipes up "he's been coming upstairs to my bed all week!" When he was going up and down the stairs he just leaned on the side wall to keep himself straight :) Cats can always work out a way to get to the comfiest place :)

Are these 2 cats for keeps or are they foster cats?

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

Knitwitch please can you put me on challenge for reaching 80 Kg for Christmas. Thank you.

Odd day today, had a bit of a shock as a heavy pan lid fell on my head from a high shelf so I did not get much done. Not too bad a damage luckily, just a graze and a bump, but quite scary. DD. and good friends looked after me. Am ok now.

    However, here's the food report:

    B. fried egg, thin slice rye bread
    S. a few nuts
    L. Chicory and beet root salad, thin slice rye bread, 40g (appx) cheddar.
Afternoon S. with large quantities tea while recovering from accident: thin slice rye bread, seed butter, raspberry jam (hm)
    D. Lentil and veg soup, beetroot salad, green beans, sauteed marrow.
Bedtime S. 1/2 pear with sliver smoked goat cheese
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
