Knitwitch please can you put me on challenge for reaching 80 Kg for Christmas. Thank you.

Odd day today, had a bit of a shock as a heavy pan lid fell on my head from a high shelf so I did not get much done. Not too bad a damage luckily, just a graze and a bump, but quite scary. DD. and good friends looked after me. Am ok now.

    However, here's the food report:

    B. fried egg, thin slice rye bread
    S. a few nuts
    L. Chicory and beet root salad, thin slice rye bread, 40g (appx) cheddar.
Afternoon S. with large quantities tea while recovering from accident: thin slice rye bread, seed butter, raspberry jam (hm)
    D. Lentil and veg soup, beetroot salad, green beans, sauteed marrow.
Bedtime S. 1/2 pear with sliver smoked goat cheese

Oooh not good re the pan! and you are down to lose 7.7 lb (aka 3.5 kg)
    Must use my stash up!

Am I going to be the first to declare today? :) have decided I need to get back to getting up early (although that means more hours to spread the food over :rotfl:)

So, scraping in on the last week of the challenge...I have lost 1 lb...which means I have hit my target for this challenge :T:j

It's really wrong to clap myself isn't it? but I'm chuffed with myself :rotfl::rotfl:

Worst part of this challenge was the beginning when the chocolate cravings got me again, and I had weeks when I didn't lose anything...
Best part was the day I went below the "obese" line...and since then I haven't gone back over that line, not even for one day, I'm now half a stone below, so not likely to go over it again :)

Good luck weighing in this weekend everyone, and onwards to the next challenge!

    Hello Just Karen :hello:

Re calorie counting...I've been here since January, and most of the time I didn't calorie count, just ate carefully. I got stuck weight-wise a couple of months ago, and started calorie counting then. I'm still eating the same things, but it's made me more aware, so I have smaller portions of things like high calorie cereals or cheese, for example. Still eat chips and pizza :o but am aware of how many calories are in them and try to compensate the next day. I aim for 1200 a day, with a bit more if I go for a walk (I know that's not enough for a lot of people, but I'm quite inactive)

How long were you gaining weight while exercising? Maybe it was just a blip? I can understand you not wanting to pay for a gym, for example, but surely walking is free? I think we all find different things which work.

And btw, you may have a bit to go, but WELL DONE on what you've lost already :T

ellie - very well done on meeting your target - have a :T from me as well. :D

JustKaren - welcome to the thread! :hello:

I can tell that I'm on a 'being good' mission at the moment as I've gone back to dreaming about food: a buffet full of pork pies, cheesy pasta, fruit pies, cheesecake... <sigh>

Today's plan, without any of the above, will be:

B - wholemeal roll with the last of the hummous; 4 fresh dates
L - leek and cheese quichelet (was meant to be last night's dinner but I decided I fancied beans on toast instead) with salad; apple
D - beef and spinach curry with lemon rice and tomato salad

Good luck with the last couple of days of the challenge, everyone.
Back after a very long break!

Hi, I started gaining and maintaining for four weeks after seriously upping my exercising, I know I should have kept at it now and am getting back on the wagon today, I wasn't actually paying for the gym I was paying at slimming world and mentally seeing the scales go up was driving me bonkers hence the spiral back up the stone I am in now...

Never mind back on it today exercis biking and walking is addictive but has to be better than crisps huh, have a fab day x

Hiya JustKaren *waves* I started MFP three weeks ago and have been on there ever since and it has worked better for me than slimming world and weight watchers in the past. Originally mine told me I should only be eating 1200 a day, and the idea is to stay under your calories each day by a bit. That to me was pretty impossible, I did try it but I was so hungry I never stayed under. So last week I upped it to 1400 and it is much more motivational as I can stay under that. With the exercise, once you type it in it will automatically tell you how many more calories you can eat that day - you don't have to eat them, but you can so I tend to make sure I work out on a day where I know I'm having a heavier meal, or a couple of days before weigh in so I know it reflects. I would begin by focussing on the calories - try whatever they recommend you for a week and if it isn't maintainable then up it by a couple of hundred until you find a balance of something which leaves you full but still losing weight :) if you want to message me your username on there I will add you and we can gee each other on!

Speaking of which I completely don't know how, as I was due to plateau this week based on past weight loss attempts but I have lost -2.5lbs!!!! I am so pleased (although should have saved it for the next challenge he he). I had to stay at home yesterday as my car broke and I couldn't get to work, so I did an hour on my 'just dance' on the wii and really went for it - burned 250 calories! I love dancing around so have now got my eye on 2,3,4 JD on ebay so I can vary the music a bit - cheaper than the gym and I have never ached from a Wii game before like I do this morning he he.

    Good luck everyone x

Hi JustKaren, we all do our own thing really, some count cals, some do points, MFP etc. I cut down on fats, buy as many low/no fat products as poss, I don't do refined sugar stuff but do eat a lot (too much!) of fruit, I use a small plate as it's tempting to fill a dinner sized one, and take my time eating i.e., use a teaspoon to eat my cereal with. You'll pick up other people's methods as time goes on.

Sorry to say I didn't make target, I've STS this week but I'm in good company with N2BT. Blame it on my friend who's staying for a week, yesterday she took me out to lunch, and bought a huge cream & fruit sponge to have with our tea!

    Today will be

B - slice hm toast, lf spread, apricot conserve
L - Subway turkey salad, water to drink
    T - sweet jacket, salad
S - satsuma, grapes, carrot batons
E - 1x10 mins done, just going to walk round shops for a few hours. ETA - was 5 hours - exhausted!

    Have a sunny day :)
