Hi Folks and welcome to the new recruits
I haven’t been on the forum much, been taking advantage of the fine autumn weather to get the garden tidy, grass cut (hopefully the last for this year) and been out walking much more than usual - must have racked up quite a few miles this week.
Thankfully the additional exercise has paid off and I have a 1lb loss this week .B - F&F, ff yogurt (just found @sd@ Greek style fat free which is one of the best I've tried) ss milk
Sparrer, I have to agree, I converted a while ago although I do still occasionally indulge in "THE" authentic full fat greek one :drool:Well I am so pleased that my weight has dropped in total since the hospital on August 6th (I then had two weeks holidays ) and its now down by11lbs and my BMI has gone down from 44 to 41.So its working and I am very pleased. JackieO xxx
Well Done JackieO and in such a short period of time, it took me over a year to lose that amount – so hats off to you :T :T.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £113.010 -
Hi Knit Witch
Could you sign me up for 12lb please

Hello
I'd like to sign up for the next challenge too if I may? I'd love to lose 10lbs from my current 10st 8lbs by Christmas and get back to where I was this time last year, and into the clothes I was wearing then too :j
Ideally Id lose an additional 5lbs on top of that, but that's maybe for the new year.
I've put on a bit of weight this year due to a period of ill health after stopping smoking, meaning I wasn't able to be as active as usual and was looking for more nibbles than usual
I like the look of this thread as it seems that it will let me eat my usual home cooked food with a few modifications. I'm planning to try to calorie count using MFP, and was aiming at about 1300 t0 1400 calories a day for a slow loss. Does that sound OK?
I tried SW but haven't had much success as I think the focus on fruit and veggies has stirred up what are normally very mild ibs/diverticulitis type problems. So I'm looking into which veggies and fruit I can increase volumes of without making other things worse....:(
Im not the best at posting regularly, but think the weekly weigh in post will help me!
Thanks
T
Got you down and welcome to the group!!Must use my stash up!0 -
Hi Mrs KW
On your last list I thimk that you may have deducted 2lb from my total for this challenge. You have me down as losing 1lb out of 7 but I think it should be 3lb.
Can you put me down for the next challenge please I'd like to try for 10lbs0 -
Hi Knit Witch I want to lose at least 12lbs on the next challenge so can you sign me up please .I have to see my consultant in December so I want to show him I am sticking like glue to the healthy eating plan.
Today its porridge for breakfast
lunch will be crackers and soft cheese and tomato and cucumber topping with some soup
Mid afternoon a large orange
Dinner tonight will be salad with some cold chopped sausage and yoghurt for pudding
Excercise with be my iron mountain thats got to be started on shortly.
Good luck everyone on the new challenge0 -
Morning all
. Wow, total loss of 9st 4.85lb -that's a whole me! Well done losers and sts's, and gainers for percy vering
KW please could you put me down for 5lb for the next challenge, am determined to get my BMI where it should be and my weight into the range for my height (lowght?). It might seem okay to some now but at under 5 feet even a few lb's makes me look like a roly poly. You should see the pic on my fridge taken three years ago, barrage balloon isn't an exaggeration!
N2BT so do I, just occasionally
B - F&F, ff yogurt, ss milk
L - dry fried egg on wm toast
D - noodle/veg stirfry
S - orange, celery
E - just going to make a start on planting the 8 trays of winter pansies/cyclamen and 300 daffies I bought yesterday. Should keep me out of mischief for a while
Happy Saturday0 -
Wow, that weight-loss chart looks seriously impressive!
I am happy to record a 1 1/2lb loss, which I am very pleased with as my motivation is pretty much non-existent at present. I bought a sandwich for lunch yesterday as planned and had lots of salad in with the prawns :A, but the sandwich shop had run out of all fruit except bananas so I had a slice of their HM lemon drizzle cake instead: I know it's fruit-flavoured but it clearly doesn't count as fruit, so you can see what I'm up against!
I clearly shouldn't have a day off today but I'm going to anyway, and just try to balance it slightly by walking into town (about 2 1/2 miles) to get some fruit from the market to make jam with.
As you're taking sign-ups for the next challenge, Knit Witch, I'll sign up for 8 pounds, please - it's not a huge amount but I usually put weight on over the winter so will be aiming to keep off what I've lost as much as anything else.I tried SW but haven't had much success as I think the focus on fruit and veggies has stirred up what are normally very mild ibs/diverticulitis type problems. So I'm looking into which veggies and fruit I can increase volumes of without making other things worse....:(
I know exactly what you mean. For a while I tried to have 9 or more portions of fruit and veg a day, which is what is recommended in some countries, but found it caused me serious digestive problems.I've now found that I can do five or six portions a day, as long as I don't have too much of very fibre-rich ones like kale and green cabbage. I hope you can find an approach that works for you, too.
Back after a very long break!0 -
Can I sign up for 7lbs please................again!!
Actually, maybe that's a bad move! I should probably do something different so I'll say 8lbs!!!
Way to live dangerously!!
Knit Witch, thank you for doing this again and I hope you've hung onto some of your old dragon ways. I think I'll need the odd roasting to keep me on track!!:eek:0 -
put me down for 5lbs pleaseFight Back - Be Happy0

Typically that pound came off again today! Never mind, I'll just try to keep it off for the final weigh in next week. I will sign up for next time please, maybe try for another 4lb but realistically I'll be happy to sts!0
