Hi everyone
I'd really like to join in please - I've made a firm resolve to start eating healthily and getting fit - which will hopefully result in me losing weight!
We don't eat much processed food in this house which is a plus however we do eat a lot of chicken etc, rather than vegetables. So that's my first goal: to incorporate more vegetables into our diet.
I started off by walking one mile today, and I plan on keeping this up.
I would love some tips as I tend to lose motivation really quicklyI don't want to give up this time.
Thank you for reading.
Hello [A] and welcome to the group, we run a weight loss challenge - this one has two more weigh ins to go and then we start a new one, if you want to join in I will be starting to take sign ups from this weekend  (the  is because this is the run up to Yule one
)
Must use my stash up!0 -
can I rejoin please? I think I joined, felt that was enough hard work and then went away and piled on more weight
I really need to lose weight, I stopped weighing myself once I went over a very high weight, and I've lost probably half a stone to get back to that very high weight, but I've ventured back on the scales today so now I need to keep myself accountable.
there's no mystery to what I need to do: eat less sugary rubbish. so plenty of veg and lean meat/fish, cooked by me with no rubbish in it. My exercise options are limited as last birth (5 years ago!) beggared my innards a little and now I've developed a back problem, so all I'm allowed to do is gentle walking and specific exercises from the physio - no cardio and no jumping/lifting, so it's all down to diet. But any weight I lose will improve my back and improve my other post-birth issues - so that's all good.
are we in a challenge at the moment?
I'm starting right now so we'll ignore the horrible choclatey breakfast and I plan:
small jacket potato, chilli beef and tomato salad for tea.
I'm going to make up a hm porridge pot for breakfast at work tomorrow and soup for lunch, and tomorrow's tea will be same as tonight.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

Of course you can join back in! Yes we are in a challenge but there are only two more check ins, the next challenge officially starts a week on Saturday (namely 28th September) and will run for 12 weeks :eek:Must use my stash up!0 -
Hello
I am another who has totally lost my motivation and feel so bad. I should probably be pulled out of this challenge as I only put weight on so makes your figures look worse.
I came back from holiday weeks ago, having put on weight, but I also had some sort of cough that lasted for about 6 weeks. I couldn't do any exercise and so, just seemed to lose my way.
I have now got back to exercising a couple of times a week and have at least stopped putting on weight
If it's okay, I'd like to pull out of this challenge and I will sign up for the next one. Hopefully, I can start the next challenge at the same weight I started the last one!0 -
Hi chums sorry I have been a bit late posting I have been rushing around as usual.Well I am so pleased that my weight has dropped in total since the hospital on August 6th (I then had two weeks holidays ) and its now down by11lbs and my BMI has gone down from 44 to 41.So its working and I am very pleased. The nurse is too and she gets to see me evry two weeks and hopefully I will keep losing at a regular 1-2lbs a week.I have 12 weeks to try and lose 5% of my body weight which if I stick to my plan I should manage fine.
Today has been a really great day as my oldest friends DD who was having twins by IVF gave birth at 6.20 this morning to two bouncing 5lbs babies 1 boy Riley, and a girl Lexi and I couldn't be more pleased than if I had given birth for her.My old friend is absolutely buzzing and so am I.Best news I have had all day(apart from my weight loss of course:):):))
Hope everyone is doing OK and resisting the temptation to nibble:)
Cheers chums

JackieO...11 lbs, well done you :T (and hurray to two new babies
)
lobbyludd...choclatey breakfast? I like you already :rotfl:
We shall all ignore your horrible choclately breakfast
Another ordinary day...first bowl of homemade soup, summer seems to be over
Was planning to miss walking today after yesterdays pains, but decided to go out this afternoon just to get out of the house. The walking took about 40 minutes, but was out 70 minutes, kept bumping into people to talk to!
When I came home my neighbour had a visitor, so got to hear the whole conversation through the wall. The visitor was getting more and more frustrated trying to get neighbour to hear what he was saying...I'm thinking usually visitors are loud, but not that loud, he was really shouting...and then he shouted at the top of his voice "I take it you didn't find your hearing aid then?"
Well, I know it's not funny, but I did laugh!
(and guess what, he said he HAD found the hearing aid, but he didn't have it in)
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Hi
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement! I've been pretty good with food today however I need to exercise more. I was really feeling down in the dumps but your posts cheered me up, thank you
Sachatith - thank you, some wonderful tips there. I wouldn't have thought of having a dress I'd like to fit in to. I think I need to visit the city centre this weekend, strictly for 'research' purposes of course!
Sparrer - thank you, I'm looking forward to interacting with you all
ellie99 - good idea, I think I need to start a journal, it did help me before. Thanks.
Knit Witch - Yes please! I'd love to join. How do I sign up, please? What do I have to do?
lobbyludd - I'm the same re:exercising after my recent abdominal surgeryhopefully we'll both manage to keep going with this!
I hope I haven't missed anyone out. I'm glad everyone is so lovely, I was a bit nervous about posting but really pleased that I did. (Now if only there was a way to change this ridiculous screen name of mine..)
Planning to eat a proper breakfast of porridge tomorrow, to kick start the day, then a one mile walk.
Off to find the nicest notebook I own to start my journal!
Good luck to everyone elseOS Weight Loss Challenge... 3.5/100 -
this morning my excercise will be peeling a kilo of carrots to make a big vat of carrot and coriander soup
:) for the coming week.
B: bran flakes and banana
L :crispbread and soup
D; salmon and vegatables
DD gave me a couple of Apple Struedal Mueller rice puds that she's not keen on so I may have some after lunch as my treat for the day.
Glad we're all doing well and I am even more incentivised (sp) as the BMI is dropping .I want to get it as low as I can so I can have my op. for reconstruction of my boob:) then I will really feel that I have beaten the big C
Cheers chums we are all being so supportive on here (no pun intended:))
