Don't be  TG...surely losing inches is better?
I agree, losing inches is much better, but I do understand the frustration when the number on the scale doesn't change.cheeswright wrote: »a late weight here ! 1 measly lb down here only..
so -1 for me knit witch
A 1lb loss is much better than a 1lb gain, and every pound counts towards your goal.Aww...thank you sparrer...:)
You know, I think I'm finally "getting it" more than ever before.
I get that I have one body and it's up to me to look after it as best I can...I FINALLY get that comfort food doesn't give me any comfort...I'm get that if I choose high calorie food (like a fish supper, for instance) as a "treat", I'm not really treating my body at all...I get that the pleasure of eating a "treat" food is nothing compared to the pleasure of pulling on a size 12 pair of jeans
All perfectly obvious thoughts, but it's taken me a long time to really believe it. Not saying I'm an expert on it, but I think if I can eat with these beliefs for 5 or 6 days every week, I will slowly lose the weight.
Right now I'm convinced I can do it...that's not to say there haven't been times in the past when I've felt like that, and then given up...but hey, when you're feeling optimistic you've got to make the most of it, right? I feel like I'm finally getting it under control
(And my ex is STILL trying to phone me, so that just spurs me on! :rotfl:)
I also feel that I'm 'getting it' more than ever before. I've yo-yo'd for years, and each time I say the weight WILL NOT go back on, and it always does, lol, but this time I really feel that once I get to my goal the weight won't go back on, as I'm losing it a lot slower this time, and I'm learning a lot about what my body needs and what I need to do to lose the weight and keep it off. Also nothing could taste as good as finally fitting into a size 12 (or maybe a 10) again!
I almost went out in my size 14 jeans on Saturday but bottled it at the last minute, as although they fit I had a huge roll of fat hanging over the top when I sat down, not a good look, lol! We were only going to MIL's to play cards with some friends, but as I would have been sitting for most of the evening, I didn't feel comfortable about wearing them, maybe next time!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Well done everyone who has maintained and lost - YEY!
for those who have gained, I think I will be joining you this week and I completely agree that a lot of it is the weather plus there seem to be a lot of bugs going round
Had my girly day with my sister on Saturday (she paid yippee), but also had fish and chips Friday unexpectedly as gas was still off. Yesterday I was a lot better, but following the MASSIVE roast (albeit, mainly veggies) I had made my first ever apple pie for OH so I had to try it... oops, three days in a row of bad behaviour.
Just got to try and behave for the next four days now so that I can maintain this week hopefully.
My pup had a poorly paw at the start of last week and I had this godawful cold at the end so our longish walks went out the window (both sat on sofa feeling sorry for one another!). But the weather is bright here, although cold, and OH is working late tonight, we have leftover pork with mash for tea so I have NO excuses not to take him for a nice 45 minute powerwalk later

Aren't we doing well?
And Knit Witch...notice you've lost those pounds which went on with your medication...AND are now over your target :T
Another very ordinary day here at Chez Ellie...I seem to be back on track after last weeks party and cakes and pastries (although I do have some lemon curd cake left, and have been having little nibbles)
Also had NO takeaway over the weekend, which is usually one of my failings, and I think it's about 2 months since I last had chocolate, so seem to have that under control again...I get tempted, but stop myself before I buy it...can't eat it if I don't buy it
Have been trying to get out for a walk every day (and it's getting cold!!!)...some days are better than others, I'm managing 2 miles a day, which is half what I used to do, but a lot more than I could do last January
I find if I go out late evening it's warms my feet up before bed...I hate going to bed with cold feet :rotfl:

Been off food a bit today as only 99.9% and exercise was rubbish
B - none
L - burger and chips, only ate a few chips
T - 2 slices buttered toast, 1 cheese, 1 marmalade
S - grapes, apple
E - slow walk round a nearby out of town shopping area.
Sweet dreams0 -
Decided this morning to try on the trousers I have hanging on the wardrobe (I think it was officeguru's suggestion to hang up clothes to slim into)
The larger pair, which I could previously zip up but were too tight to wear, now fit perfectly. But they're light weight crop ones for summer, and it's too cold to wear them now...maybe I should put them out right now, because, of course, they shall be too big next summer :rotfl: Hmm, no I think I'll put them back in the wardrobe!
The smaller size 14 pair of jeans now zip up, but are still far too tight to be wearable (like Sue14, I couldn't sit down in them)
Last time I wore them I was a stone lighter, so that's my next aim.
Also have a pair of good quality lined joggers that DS2 put out...he'd had them since he was a teenager and is now a foot tallerbut just the right length for me...why did I think I would fit into a teenage boys joggers? :rotfl: I could *just* squeeze my lumps and bumps into them, so the day they fit will be a celebration...in fact the day they fit I can stop dieting
At the weekend I put out a few clothes which reminded my of the ex every time I looked at them (things from holidays and special occasions)...but the jeans on the wardrobe, I'm keeping them, and I'm going to be so smug when they fit again :rotfl:
Hoping the rain holds off, have a walk planned with a friend later...it's much easier to walk when there's someone to talk to

Had a reasonably good day, feeling better than I have for a while so -
B - F&F, rf yogurt, ss milk
L - rf cheese & pickle on toast (no spread) orange
D - grilled tomato and 1/2 bacon steak, dry fried egg, jacket
S - pear, grapes, stick celery
E - resp clinic for annual tests, had to walk for 6 minutes, was allowed to use puffer but even so it wasn't exactly a 6 minute mile, more like a 6 minute 50 yards! Then did an hour's gardening this afternoon, beds, baskets, tub cleared out in prep for winter planting. Dreadful thought
have a good rest of the day0 -
I had a good day food-wise (and also a good day house-wise..my kitchen's looking a lot tidier than it has for a while...it's very small, that's my excuse
)
UNTIL...my DM made fresh warm rock buns and sent DF round with some...mmm, it was delicious (I managed to stop at one!)
What's the point of eating things like lettuce and coleslaw and fruit, and then finishing the day off with a rock bun? :rotfl:
Also managed to miss the showers and walk with a friend...I enjoy walking on my own, but it's definitely easier with a friend to talk to...and it helps to judge your fitness levels...when we first started every time we came to a hill she would say "you talk now", because she couldn't talk and do a hill at the same time :rotfl:We're much fitter now. I've noticed this week my legs only hurt a little bit, much better than a couple of weeks ago, which is good.
Not sure what to do with myself this evening...neighbour is watching the football, so a right racket coming through the wall (he's a big bit deaf so needs tv volume high)...would like to take myself off for a wallow in the bath away from the noise, but DS2 may visit later, so can't do that..think I need a new hobby

I fell off the wagon but getting back on it now! I'm not great with dieting - as soon as I think I'm missing out I want it more. I eat reasonably heathily most of the time but could do a lot better. The main problem is getting OH on board. We've both put on weight and have agreed to try and lose some. He thinks it will just magically fall off him if he decides he wants it to...?! So I'm finding it hard to maintain motivation.
I've also joined a gym as despite having numerous Wii games and exercise dvd's at home - somehow I can always find a reason not to do it (too tired etc). So I thought if I join a gym, my laziness would hit me where it really hurt...my pocket!! I'm doing OK with attending, I started off well but then got very sick and had to stop for about a month so I'm just starting to get back into the swing of it. Imminent wedding dress shopping is also a good motivator!
So not a great food day today but not terrible. Went to the gym and did some running and power plates. Had induction for power plates today and I can see I'll be using them a lot. Doing it 3 times a week for a month is apparently like doing regular exercise for a year. Just up my street!14 projects in 2014: 3/140 -
I have been pretty stern with myself and stuck like glue to the healthy eating and it is coming off thank goodness.I have the diet nurse to see this morning and to be weighed by her spot-on no -nonsence scales which are accurate to the last ounce.I'm not to sure about my digital ones But I know that her ones are the definate article.I know what I weighed at the hospital in August so whatever her ones weigh will tell me exactly what I have lost.Fingers crossed for 11.15 and I shall know for sure that my eating plan is working
:)
I know I have lost weight as I actually got into a pair of jeans that have been in the wardrobe for yonks and I couldn't do them up and now they slide on very easily.
Onwards and upwards chums
I'll be back to let you know how I've got on.
JackieO xxx
P.S. I have found that trousers that used to fit ok now are too long I think its because my tum is slowly dissapearing Last night I kept tripping over the pair I was wearing so they are going into the charity shop bagIf they don't fit anymore then I am not keeping them .:):)0
