Earlier in the week, I decided to try running up and down the stairs at home, wearing my heart rate monitor to see how many calories I burned. I originally aimed for 10 times (after the second I knew I was being too ambitious and changed the goal to 5, lol!), but finally managed 4 times, before almost collapsing in a heap, lol! On checking the HRM I found that it had taken 1 minute and 11 seconds and I'd burned a measly 7 calories ,

Only 7 calories!!! that's not enough!!! I think I'll forget about running up the stairs... and it's much safer to take stairs slowly (can you tell I've injured myself on stairs before? :rotfl:)

I've overdone it again today :(
Been out all day (but most of it driving, so not many calories used up)...stop late lunch time in a town though, and discovered I still don't know what to buy if I want something to eat out. I had 2 cereal bars and an apple with me, but they weren't tempting me, eventually I bought a cheese and pickle roll, which wasn't a good choice!

I even considered buying a big bar of *that* chocolate, and just having that, but realised if I did that I'd get the craving back, so stopped myself...probably the only sensible decision I've made today!

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

    Better late than never...

An STS week but not at all surprising after last weekend.

    B - F&F, ff yogurt, ss milk
L - poached egg on hm toast (no butter)
    D - Korma, noodles
    S - orange, nana, celery/carrot batons, grapes
    E - 2x10 mins + cleaned bedrooms and landing

Phoned pulmonary rehab this morning, going for an assessment next week then maybe back on a 2 month course as breathing hasn't been as good as it could lately, so want to bring it up to par before it gets worse. Grateful for the respiratory clinic for fitting people in as soon as they phone up.

    Sweet dreams :)

  • Reporting back that the cheese triangles were rather nice I shall use them in place of butter where needed and at 28c alories a triangle, its got to be better than butter.Last night I steamed carrots and new potatos and they were delicious.Lost another 2lb this week which I am pleased about I have to see the diet nurse on Wednesday so I shall be pleased to see how much in total I have lost since I was weighed at the begining of August before my holiday, when I was at the hospital .
Eldest DD is losing a bit slower but she has less to lose than I have but my youngest DD is doing really well and it seems to be melting off of her.Her clothes are getting quite loose on her :):)
Still no bread for three weeks now and I can't say I've missed it at all.Cut right back on stream of cups of tea as well I have a nice pot of coffee which I enjoy but I don't have milk with it as I actually enjoy black coffee
Keep up the good work chums we will all get there in the end

Another STS here, my comfort eating earlier in the week has scuppered any loss.

The bad news is I have horrendous toothache and two weeks to wait before I can get the treatment I need, but the good news I don’t feel like eating and if I do I can only manage liquid/soft food. Picked up pain-killers at the chemist which are taking the edge of the pain but in bold writing says “can cause addiction”  so trying not to use unless absolutely necessary.

Luckily I have plenty of soup in the freezer, may dust off my trusty juicer to create some weird and wonderful concoctions with the fruit and veg lurking in the fridge and try something soft like over-cooked pasta for my evening meal.

Thanks ellie, it'll go, just the sudden change in temp causing a few probs I think. None of us are enjoying it :(

Today's is almost exactly the same as yesterday -
    B - F&F, ff yogurt, ss milk
L - dry-fried egg on hm plain toast
    D - Korma with noodles
S - orange, celery/carrot batons. Apple from the garden, pear
E - Kitchen tops, light switches/plates/window sills done

Have a good rest of the afternoon :)

  • morning all I am making a vat of carrot and corriander soup this morning as I bought a kilo of carrots (49p) from Aldi's on Friday so they will be the basic of several lunches this week.
Lost two pounds this week so its slowly going down.I see the dietician nurse on Wednesday so fingers crossed she will be a happy bunny as I am.
