Hey but at least we are all in the same boat together.
Repeat - It will get better and I can lose weight..... It will get better and I can lose weight..... It will get better and I can lose weight..... It will get better and I can lose weight.....I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all. I'm having a tough week. Was in bed with flu Monday and Tuesday and although i'm back at work now, I'm still recovering. This means I have done absolutely no exericise this week and it's showing on the scales.
Despite being pretty good foodwise (had the odd bad thing but haven't been eating as much overall so I don't think I've been over my calorie allowance) I seem to have put on half a pound! I shouldn't have looked as it's just depressed me. Official weigh in not until Sunday morning so hopefully it will come off by then. Just really frustrated as sometimes it seems when i'm not so good, I lose the weight, and when I am good, I seem to stay the same!
I think this has confirmed for me what I have suspected for while - diet alone won't do, I need to exercise to lose weight.
Apologies for the lack of motivation and I hope you are all having a better week than me xxx0 -
Arg forgot my tub of soup today! Have bread, yog, fruit but no soup. will have to buy something. Meh.
Trying turkey tikka tonight, spice mix from asian supermarket mixed with l/f creme fraiche and express pilau rice from HB.
Gettin fed up with veg dinners so hope a change will keep me going. Also hope for a loss tmw, but I think as said above i'm gonna have to do more exercise as calorie cutting doesn't seem to be enough.0 -
I'm trying really hard to do more exercise, mostly just walking but with a bit of added oomph and the help of some workout tunes on my i-pod. But each time I go out I come across something else that annoys me, stops me doing more, gets in the way or I need to buy or do that would make it better next time. Inappropriate shoes, clothes, weather, too hot, too hilly, too many people, too dark, wrong sort of earphones that drove me mad falling out and latest was too much effort to try and run with hands full with car keys and i-pod.
I bought belt pouch/pocket thingy today to put my i-Pod and keys in, so one less thing to whinge about next time. Just need to find the right location and weather now, plus a very small drink bottle to take with me.Mortgage

Morning all
Ragz I think you post was fair, as so few of us seem to have any motivation atm the newbies aren't coming in to see a 'gym full of sylph-like bodies pumping the iron' - I can't think of anything more off-putting, and our posts prove that we're all human with the same motivational problems during these cold, dark days
As Mollys mantra - It will get better and I can lose weight, so today I plan to eat sensibly and exercise
B - porridge made with sk milk/water
D - 2 egg omelette made with sk milk, w/tomato, pepper, grated carrot, onion, 2 rashers of chopped lean bacon
T - Chicken & leek soup, 2 crackerbread
Snacks - satsuma, apple, pineapple, melon
Exercise - already attacked the bedroom, bathroom is next then 1/2 hour pulm exercise, more if I can
We're getting there, didn't turn the light on til 5.20pm yesterday
Stay warm & safe0 -
Hello all, and yes it is very hard getting motivated when it's so cold and grey. Well it is here and Muttles and I trudged along on our cold, dank, walk with me thinking longingly of the hot cup of coffee I'd make when I got home. This was just after having the three yearly mammogram, the thought of which had kept wandering in and out of my dreams all night, so now feel totally zonked.
I made a big batch of soup yesterday so have some of that to look forward to and as it's so uninspiring outside I'm going to settle down and get the sewing machine out and get some tasks done that have been hanging around for a while. Hopefully just getting these things done will make me feel I've achieved something and get my mojo back.
Best wishes to you all for a warm, healthy and enjoyable day."It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. Hi All, what a drizzly and dreich day it’s been here, as a result I couldn’t be bothered going anywhere or doing very much. I did watch an exercise DVD does that count :rotfl:
I’m another one to have a sneaky peek on the scales yesterday and am the same as last week so after today’s inactivity I doubt any miracles will happen overnight. Anyway food-wise I’m still being good, although I did eat the last 4 crackers (dry) that were in the tin last night.
But I do feel that I am now well organised as far as my menus are concerned but it’s time to be a bit more organised in scheduling some exercise into my daily routine, as I doubt that I will lose anymore by dieting alone.
I made a litre of yoghurt yesterday so at least that’s breakfast sorted for a few days, today’s menu is as follows
B – Yoghurt, blueberries, sprinkle of oats, drizzle of honey.
L – More soup from the freezer, slice of toast, orange.
D – Aubergine Bake, broccoli, crusty bread roll.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54

Morning all, it's good to see the forum back up and running.
I'm declaring a ***STS*** today (can't make it red on my phone, will change tonight).
I have actually lost about half a pound , not too bad for TOTM week.
I've never watched my weight during TOTM week before but it's been interesting, I started on Saturday and at the start of this week I was up by over 2lb, it's dropped off steadily over the last couple of days and I'm hoping there is a bit more to go which I'll see next week.Piglet
