Afternoon Everyone, Well done to those declaring a loss and commiserations to STS & gains – weve all been there so please don’t let it get you down.
Result for me, weighed myself first thing even before my morning coffee, but the scales don’t lie and I am down, so declaring another 1lb loss.
There’s nothing like being awarded another Smiley Face to keep the motivation going, I haven’t dared measure myself yet but my clothes are fitting much more comfortably apart from THE pair of jeans, but I will keep going with renewed enthusiasm, a bit of exercise and toning up around the middle should hopefully get me there.
Today’s meal plan is
B – Yoghurt, banana, sprinkle of oats, drizzle of honey
L – Baked beans & poached egg on toast, grilled tomato. Handful of blueberries.
D – L/O Aubergine Bake, mixed veg.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £20.630 -
Well done to all those who have lost and STS:T:T:T
Commiserations to all those who have gained - keep on trying x
I am not going to weigh-in this week but am now getting back on track so hope that next week will bring good news xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
No loss to report this week
but at least I sts
Snacking on popcorn this morning rather than the crisps I really wanted, so just have to keep trying.0 -
Afternoon all,
I have gained 1lb this week. Not feel very good at all about that.:(:(Summer weightloss challenge
Aim to lose 10lbs:)0 -
Well done all the losers so far.
Lavenderbees and Mazzy you're not alone... I have gained another pound! I am 11 stone 11lbs... so that's a GAIN of 3lbs this month, 2 I had lost and an extra one, just to make you feel better
But it has given me renewed motivation and determination. I managed 70 lengths (55 minutes) swimming last night. Treated myself to some low calorie things at Morrisons so I can have the treats (will need them over half term!) without the guilt. I had been having instant hot chocolate but I always buy the cheapest which is 120cal a mug and not that nice... I treated myself to a few tubs of Options (on offer, naturally) and I have to say they are almost too sweet, but definitely hit the spot, thick and smooth and rather filling for 40cal. Not very Old Style but my homemade cakes were killing me! Also discovered I really like caramel rice cakes, which are pretty low cal and almost fat free. DD does too so win win there...
I also bought myself a Rosemary Conelly magazine, purely for inspiration and motivation... I did find when doing WW that the magazines helped spur me on, it doesn't last long but it may be all I need! Not looked at it yet but if I find anything interesting I shall share.
Got a few bargains at the charity shop too, so all good. Feeling more motivated and less like eating everything...
Will update list later.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Ragz, sorry to hear you have gained too. Its such a battle just to lose a 1lb that its so disheartening to gain it again!!! But your post has given me some snacking ideas, thanks.
I know what my downfall is, its a very sweet tooth!!! I just cannot live without chocolate or cake, or anything sweet to be honest. I can eat carefully calorie counted, portion controlled meals, and then, without feeling at all hungry, find myself craving something chocolatey! Why????
Ummmm, thats what I need to figure out and then to beat that craving!Summer weightloss challenge

Hi all.
I am just wondering how many of you eat on a tight budget but are still slim and/or healthy?
is it easy to eat healthily on a budget?
What (apart from fruit) do you snack on between meals which is cheap?0 -
Having done Slimming World for years on & off, I eat value savoury rice/noodles/baked potato for lunch, fruit salad with cheapest fat free yoghurts (or as dessert with sugar free jelly, plenty of veg - go often to supermarket if you can too get yellow stickered veg/fruit for a few days at a time or use Aldi's Super Six. A big pack of stir-fry veg is cheap & can`serve up to 4 with a chicken breast or similar (we bulk buy mince & chicken breasts from Costco). Baked beans are also low in fat & are good for a variety of meals. Cooked pudding rice mixed with ff yoghurt also makes a very filling, warming winter brekkie.
Snacks include Babybel Lights (when on offer), fat free yoghurts, grapes (frozen last longer!), sliced cold meats, veg`soup (canned or hm), Alpen Light bars (again when on offer).
ps - frozen veg if you have the space is also v good value & as nutritious as fresh.0 -

Sugar addiction, it's all about blood sugar levels and insulin production. You have sugar (this is true for carbs like bread too for those of you who don't have a sweet tooth), your blood glucose goes up... in response your body releases insulin which lowers your blood sugar. It often goes too far and leaves you needing more sugar and so the cycle continues, with blood sugar and energy levels yoyo-ing like crazy and mood swings and cravings etc etc (This is why diabetics and people with insulin resistance are recommended a low GI diet, to manage these extremes of insulin production/make up for the lack of it)
Our bodies are designed to take in energy for survival so we are hardwired to want sugar (basically, food in general but it all comes down to glucose) so the brain rewards us with endorphins when we eat and encourages us to do it again. Hence the addiction for some people and the glucose/insulin cycle. Don't assume your body knows you are trying to diet, it doesn't, as far as your body is aware you are in danger of starvation at any moment... some people are better at overriding this, some people are more inclined to sugar addiction than others (as with most addictions).June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
