    Morning all :)

I'm really struggling to do any exercise at the moment, it's so cold all I want to do in the evenings is snuggle up under a blanket with DH and eat stodge :o

Pilates tonight though, which I never miss as 1) I've already paid for it, and 2) if I don't go my back starts hurting :rotfl: Just need to come up with similar reasons for going to swimming/aerobics again and get myself out of the house in the evenings.

    Today:
    Breakfast: activia yoghurt and grapes
    Lunch: chicken sandwich, apple, satsumas
Dinner: HM pizzas w/ HM tomato sauce, rf mozzarella, chicken pieces, peppers and a pepperami

Exercise: 1 hour pilates. hope it won't be as intense as last week, my stomach muscles hurt until Saturday! :rotfl: It didn't help that the witch was imminent too, so doing exercises laid on front was really painful

Moog swimming is fab when it's cold and snowy outside, I haven't missed a session and I have to walk there and back. Yesterday the water was just the right temperature and I could picture myself swimming in a tropical sea. The only bad bit was getting out of the water and walking into the changing room, it was freezing at 1st.
If you need more motivation just think of what swimming does for your body, works every muscle group and strengthens your core. My body already looks so much better than I hoped for and I know that is down to so much swimming.

    Breakfast :cheerios + ss milk
Lunch: a few crackers with some red pepper humus, small WM ham + beetroot sandwich
Dinner: cupasoup with a slice of bread to dip
Snacks: 2 small chunks dark choc, 1 banana
    Drinks: Water , lemon tea x 2

Womans Weekly has a 'no-diet guide' in it this week which I think gives no nonsence advice on losing weight. It has 20 tips like eat kiwi as a fruit snack as it really helps to reduce cravings (especially when you are stressed and comfort eating), choose oats and go nuts at breakfast : these are low GI and help you feel full for longer. Add some nuts or seeds for a similar appetite- suppressing affect and drink red wine several times a week but no more than that (or you will pile on the pounds) as it has the plant chemical resveratrol in red grapes that may suppress fat-storing hormones and is linked to a slimmer waistline.

    Makes for good reading :)

    Have a lovely day
    DC xx

Thanks JBD, that was the reminder I needed! :) I actually have my swimming bag packed and sitting by the front door, I just can't quite make myself leave the house at the moment :o Pilates tonight, but I'll definitely go tomorrow! I hate swimming in the winter though, I get cold really easily, and it can take me hours to warm up again. Our swimming pool is always 2-3 °C cooler than I'd like it to be!

I think I need a mantra as I cant get out at the moment. I am moving around more today but the icy paths mean I cant even get out in the garden for fear I slip.

I splurged and ordered some summer clothes and they were delivered today so hope they will provide some inspiration.

Hope you all have a good day x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Well yesterday was unpleasant, was feeling a bit dodgy and then developed a temperature and spend the night rushing (well, shuffling as quickly as possible) between bed and bathroom. Net result is an unexpected weight loss that well exceeds my goal for this week. Now all I have to do is keep it off :rotfl:

The colder the water the more calories you burn, as your body has to work harder to keep warm. My pool is sometimes a little bit too warm as they hold some of the parent and baby classes in the big pool [if they are short staffed I guess].
I read something quite motivating [to me anyway] on another forum. A guy said that he makes it a rule to never miss his gym sessions, barring serious sickness or injury, because once you start to find reasons not to train it's really difficult to get back in the right frame of mind. That is what I do with swimming,I still go and do my hour or my lengths, no matter if it's freezing cold or I feel tired or have a cold or TOTM or whatever, and that is what I'm going to do once I start training in the gym. I just feel better once I have pushed myself physically and mentally.
  • I have stayed the same for two weeks now - didn't weigh myself last week as I knew I had been "bad", and this week I have been away from home so although I did my best it wasn't very good (had some of granddaughter's birthday cake, left the actual cake but ate all the icing! And drank too much wine, v. bad.)

Had a bit of a catastrophe when a large earthenware casserole dish fell from the top of a cupboard onto my kitchen scales, smashing the dish and wrecking the scales - have just had some more delivered from Amazon, but could have done without spending twenty quid!!!

Sorry you weren't well, but sadly most of your weight loss is likely to be water, so unless you intend to go thirsty for the rest of your life it's likely to go straight back on as soon as you have a few cups of tea or whatever!
