I find that if I clear the house of all chocolates, biscuits and all the 'naughty' stuff, I crave it more to the point of going out and getting a LOT of it then eat it all in one go !
So I still have in my armageddon cupboard about 10 bars of chocolate, 1 large bag giant choc buttons, 1 huge tin of gorgeous shortbread (sealed) a few family sized bags of various sweets plus a load of other stuff.
I have rarely felt the need to get any out and if I do have an urge then I eat 1 or 2 pieces in the knowledge it is there and this seems to work for me
I know this is a difficult time of year, with the weather, loss of light and heat and everyone is feeling the pain when we need to be frugal and OS , but if you get in the right frame of mind and don't agonise over food , just take it one day at a time, then you won't give up. One days over-indulgences can be forgiven and as Ragz has done, put it behind her and is soldiering on. This as I have said before is a long term way of doing it and there is always another day to be an:A

I used to do exactly the same Dragoncry. Like you I now keep plenty to hand. At the moment I have at least 5 catering size boxes of chocolate which I seldom touch, simply because I know they're there if I really want one. But now I very seldom want any.Eat food. Not too much. Sparrer - TUT, TUT, TUT.We all seem to be struggling this week. They said on the news that this is the time when motivation is low - I think it has something to do with the time of the year. Can we think of any strategies that might help us through?
Its only 47 days till British Summer Time Begins :j:T:j:T,
Fingers crossed I haven't been feeling too bad, still managing to stick to my menu plan, but unlike Dragoncry I do have to rid the house of all treats etc, I wont even buy cereal, cause I just end up having a bowl as a late night snack.
I have finally managed to get all the messy jobs, painting etc, done in my bathroom. Now the bit I really enjoy - doing all the fancy finishes and accessories - unfortunately that is also when I tend to spend too much money.
Today I had
B - Yoghurt, sliced banana, honey & crushed nuts.
L - More Soup from the Freezer
D - Tamarind Chickpeas, chapatis & yoghurt (swapped from the weekend). It was really delicious, found the recipe on the BBC Good Food Website, only 334kcal per portion, the recipe was to serve 2 but I found that to be a bit much so I have 2 portions left. Will try freezing one and having the other for lunch.

I would love to join this group. I really need to lose a stone and a half (2 stone preferably, but a smaller initial target would be ok.)-I have never been this heavy, even when I was pregnant! I had surgery for cancer, lost a lot of weight after that but then because I had my colon removed and had a stoma for a while, I had to completely change my favoured diet which used to be high on veg and salad. Since then I have had the stoma put back, but I have an internal pouch (sorry for TMI!) and I still can't eat veg and only pur!ed fruit (Just a little of that.) As a result I have put on weight eating a lot of carbs. I am always hungry as I can't fill up on veg any more
I tried visiting a SW meeting and talking to the leader but she admitted that my restrictive diet would make it difficult, especially as I don't eat meat. So I limp along trying to cut calories where I can, am not really well enough to do a lot exercise yet either. Obviously I am glad to be still alive, lol, but I really hate what I see in the mirror at the moment.
I am going to carry on reading the thread and seeing if I can motivate myself to do something serious this time! Being overweight increases my chance of recurrence of cancer, and I have 3 kids to worry about, that SHOULD be motivation enough-except I am always flipping hungry! Maybe I should start with a small goal-say half a stone?
Hi Suzie!!!
Your such an inspiration hun and i can imagine the struggles with having to cutout veg.
Anything off is better than on so its a slow progress but im positive you will be successful in your wieght loss journey.

We all seem to be struggling this week. They said on the news that this is the time when motivation is low - I think it has something to do with the time of the year. Can we think of any strategies that might help us through?
I honestly think it just comes down to a) being really honest with ourselves and not looking for excuses and b) good old fashioned will power and self control.
If you want motivation though, just think, summer could be here in a matter of weeks :j, hard to picture at the moment but I can remember lots of lovely warm March and Aprils. I want to wear sundresses, little T shirts and not to have to worry about covering my fat up. Not to mention feeling cooler and comfy instead of sweaty, and no more rashes under my boobs and where my legs rub together [probably TMI but I'm sure a lot of us have been there!]0 -
Suzid - you sound like you have been so strong throughout, really inspirational. It must be hard to lose weight without fruit and veg, but I was just thinking have you tried choosing low GI foods? I have PCOS and the doctor told me to eat low GI as I always feel hungry even when I have just eaten due to hormonal imbalances. I've found I feel so much fuller now, and if I start eating higher GI foods again I'm never satisfied (like yesterday!). I tried SW and could not lose weight however hard I tried, and they actually sent me to the doctor, who diagnosed me with PCOS. Low GI definitely seems to be the way forward for me.
So yesterday didn't go very well, wrong time of the month for me I'm afraid! Ate 6 cream crackers with spread for my lunch instead of soup, then my friend popped round with some amazing HM flapjack for the family so I ate most of that  Had lots of veggies with dinner and was full all evening.
Todays plan:
Breakfast - porridge with agave syrup, seeds and dried fruit
Snack - Apple
Lunch - yesterday's uneaten soup! 1 slice HM wholewheat bread
Snack - Natural yoghurt with agave syrup and lemon juice
Dinner - Slow cooker veg stew
Hope everyone has a great day!Grocery Challenge February 2012 £252.19/£200

We're all designed to work with the weather and the daylight and it's so hard to be motivated to do anything and eat light meals when it's dark and cold. I am very conscious I have only a short time left of the light evenings to go for walks after work, then the chances of me getting much extra exercise are unlikely during the weekdays and salad will be strictly off limits once it goes out of season.
Seems though that whilst every cloud has a silver lining it does offer us some reason or another to procastinate; we've had no summer to speak of, which in certain ways has been good as it hasn't been too hot to do stuff; yet on the other had not warm enough to stop having Sunday roasts etc. rather than salads. :rotfl:
Today I did exactly the same breakfast and lunch regime as yesterday, as it was just perfect and left me loads of calories available for dinner. I hardly thought about snacking much during the day. I am also erring more towards the recommended portion sizes given on the packet or as per MFP, rather than I was doing to save calories for snacks.
B. 100g plain Greek yoghurt / 30g muesli
L. 45g Cottage cheese and 5 poppy seed crackers and big bowl of salad
D. Pasta bake of mushroom tortellini / tomato sauce / heaps of summer veg and little sprinkle of cheese.
