    Afternoon :)

-1lb this week. That sounds so simple. In fact, after I put on 1lb last week the next day I put on another 3lb. In one day. How is that even possible? Anyway, I carried on eating as I was because I knew I wasn't overeating, and by this morning it was all gone again.

But I find it so stressful, even when my head is telling me it's not real weight because it just can't be.

Hopefully it will stay off this time. DH has next week off work and we're going to stay with my sister for a couple of days. I know that I will have to eat different things but I'll try to be careful and not go overboard. I don't want to be seeing the scales doing that again!

Oh, and I've got to get some new walking shoes. I wondered why I had wet socks when I got home this morning so I resprayed my shoes. When I turned them over I saw several small holes in the sole and hardly anything left of the heels :-D No wonder I had wet socks! Still, I have walked literally miles in them so I shouldn't complain but I could really do with some more before going away on Sunday.

officeguru...mmm, tablet  drool...sugar in a square...and you're right, homemade is lovely, shopbought - rubbish, don't waste your money.

Been shopping this morning...I walk past the end of the chocolate aisle, saying don't look, don't look...and at the last minute I LOOK :)...and guess what? the addictive favourite chocolate bar is on special offer again...why can't they keep it at the proper price, which is too expensive to buy? Had to drag myself away (was about to say like I was 6 again, but then realised I don't remember being given chocolate much as a child, I remember getting a bar of caramac to share with my brother as a special treat occasionally...also I thought that crisps only came in one flavour, salt and vinegar, until I was a teenager :rotfl:)

ohhhhhhhh caramac !!!!! I wonder if they still sell that ???? Do you think we enjoyed treats more as everything was only on an occasion rather than every day ??? My favourite crisp was smokey bacon... I was really the bees knees when I bought a hot bovril and a pkt of crisps... and sat in a local cafe ... it was heaven... at last, I didn't have to share.... Imagine that, a whole pkt of crisps to myself.. I had to wait until I was a wage earner to get that !!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

They do still sell Caramac - I saw a pack of three in the 99p store last week - AND I DIDN'T BUY IT !!! I love Caramac. I would have eaten all three bars immediately. I expect you can get single bars but I daren't look....

Definitely, definitely OG...there was a sense of a special treat...why else would I be able to remember, about 45 years later, where I was, what the bar and wrapper was like, halfing the chocolate, the anticipation, what it tasted like...I can't remember what I did last week :rotfl:,so it must have made a big impression on me...
Sad in a way that children now will take it for granted.

I shall try to resist Pollybear, it probably won't be as good as I remember, and I don't want to spoil that :)

Nervous about my first weigh in day. Although have been very very very good and haven't weighed myself which is a first for me.

Made me some prawn and chorizo paella last night which was scrum and has done me enough for tonight, tomorrow and then lunch saturday. Have had a tummy problem for last three weeks and we suspected might be dairy (Dad is dairy intolerant). Today was my first day without and this afternoon is literally the first time I have been hungry in days, and the pain, although there, is minimal. So going to try it for the next couple of days then deliberately eat some and see what happens!

    Today:
    B- Porridge with water
    L - salad
    D - Paella
S - Breadsticks and HM salsa

Good luck for everyone tomorrow x

Just check the breadsticks, they may contain milk, in fact most commercial bread may contain milk
    Must use my stash up!
  • Good morning chums I am pleased today to say I have lost another two pounds which means its slowly coming off.
I hope it keep shifting in a downward way :):):)
    Today will be

B: cereal and chopped banana(I find this fills me up until lunchtime so I don't need a snack mid -morning)

L: I am making carrot and coriander soup this morning so it will be a mug of that plus a couple of cracker breads

D: I have got a nice steak from the freezer and will have it with some salad and a small sweet jacket potato.Pudding will be yoghurt and fruit

I find that I am feeling less hungry than I used to and if I feel peckish I just have a large glass of water.I seem to be drinking lots of it at first, and its obviously de-toxing me from all the unhealthy sugary bits.

I am even losing my cravings for cheese (my usual downfall when dieting) I haven't got a very sweet tooth when it comes to chocolates anyway.I am more a savoury addict.:):)

I am off to visit my brother in France in four weeks time so I must make a point of going nowhere near the cheese shop in his nearby town of Chef-Butonne.The lady there is lovely, and sits you down for a tasting session with a glass of wine and lots of bits of cheese and olives to try that are produced locally :):) Its my idea of heaven but I shall abstain from going there I think or all the good work will be wasted :):):)

    Onwards and upwards chums

    Hi folks

The scales are sure today (stood on them 6 times :rotfl:) - I have lost 1 lb this week.

I caved on the cake yesterday...we have family visiting from abroad, and for the last 3 weeks my DM has been baking cakes like a woman possessed. I've refused them every time, but yesterday I had one, yum.

I tried telling her that they live in a civilized country and can have cake whenever they want, and they said they don't eat cake much at home (perhaps because they are overweight like the rest of us? :)) They say they go home every time weighing more than when they came :) Well, they've not had any cake at my house, just proper food :rotfl:

It's nice though, my DM wanting to make them nice things, it's become a standing joke in the family..."are you making cake for them again, you haven't made us a cake for ages!"

  • Morning All, well done to the loses/sts’s and commiserations to anyone who has gained.

A bit of a lazy morning so far…..Oooh Antonio Bandares on Saturday Kitchen

    Yesterdays meals =
L – l/o baked figs, mozzarella, tomato & basil salad, rocket leaves
D – Lemon & Pea Risotto, green beans, slice of garlic bread

The risotto, a bbcgoodfood recipe (sorry cant do links) was lovely and would thoroughly recommend – light & refreshing not stodgy like some can be, added bonus low cost and I had all the ingredients to hand = another NSD :j.

I need to go search for some breakfast ideas; I’m not ready to start on porridge yet - to me that’s a winter brekkie. I don’t really do cereal as that becomes my downfall having a bowl in the morning and ending the day with a bowl at bedtime :naughty: Gonna do some baking this afternoon and make a batch of scones & pancakes for the freezer – then think up some ideas for toppings to go with them.

    The plan for today =
    B – Ham & Tomato Toastie
    L – Green Soup
    D – H/M Veggie Pizza, salad
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £113.01

Oh lovely I visited the Auvergne region some years ago and was astonished at the selection of cheeses. One in particular was a farmhouse made brie using unpasteurised milk - wow the taste and it was so ripe you practically had to eat it with a spoon
