Hi Folks
Well today has been a bit upsy/downsy, thought I had nothing more to do than potter about enjoying the great weather – decided to give my car a good wash & brush up first thing, a bit of shopping before lunch, then enjoy the sun – but the best laid plans etc – ended having to go and help out a friend which took longer than I thought, so the meal plan went to pot
B – Boiled Egg, Oatcake
L – Banana & ½ ltr water
D – Should have been grilled sausages, sweet potato wedges, roasted peppers - but because I was starving fried up the sausage added some pasta sauce and made a very quick Spicy Sausage Ragu with pasta and green beans – surprised myself how tasty this was and will definitely make again.

Well I shall join the next challenge. Im on the hospital food diet atm. It is not good .......although the hot puddings are the best....think school dinner puddings:eek:
But I have had two days semi fast so hopefully will not lump it on too much!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hi everyone, back online...I do miss my internet, and reading what you're all up to
Well ,I did quite well over the weekend, but fell at the last hurdle.
Went to a party on Saturday night, drank a few orange juices as I was driving, nibbled a few crisps, and had a piece of birthday cake, but stayed well away from the buffet table...it didn't really tempt me tbh.
Then I've been at the seaside for 3 days, which would normally mean a fish supper (cos that's what you do at the seaside:))..but..I took healthy food with me, I made salad stuff, when I shopped I bought wholemeal bread, locally grown apples and fresh pea pods...I was impressed with myself :rotfl:
When it was time to come home tonight I went into the town centre to pay some bills...and I cracked...and I went to the chippy and bought fish and chips! I think I was just trying to extend my stay. Sat looking out to sea and ate them, and you know what? I didn't really enjoy them, I didn't like the greasy taste in my mouth...maybe my taste buds are changing a little.
(and as well as no internet, I had no scales, so have no idea how this weeks going)

and I bought a huge bar of Cadburys for the same reason and... the wrapper is all that is left !!! Ohhhhhhh ... not only that, but he denies eating it.... and there is only me in the house apart from him !!!
Mice? Really clever Scottish mice? who know how to unwrap chocolate?Tiffany_Aching wrote: »TY for this post, it has been on my mind since I read it and yesterday it motivated me to get out and carry on when I really could not be bothered and didn't want to walk at all! In the end I managed 2 miles! And today - oh I am so pleased with myself - 2.3miles.
Ok, so I was a total state when I got home and bright red, but I did it!! My toes hurt like hell, I don't think that my trainers fit as well as I thought! Although I can't really afford to, I'm going to buy a new pair of trainers tomorrow as my toes are so sore I don't think I'm going to keep this up otherwise.
Can anyone recommend a decent pedometer? They look quite expensive and I dont want to waste money on one that isn't up to the job
Has anyone here drastically reduced the amount of carbs that they eat? I'm in my second week of cutting back and (sorry if TMI) am now chugging back the syrup of figs like water:eek::eek: Has anyone else found that things have gone all sluggish when cutting back on carbs?
Well done for making the effort TA :T It will get easier, promise!
Sore toes is not good though, shoes that don't hurt are a must. I sometimes struggle to buy trainers which fit properly, and I've made some mistakes (end up with plasters all over my feet), the pair I've got now were from TK M@xx and were well reduced
Do get a pedometer, if you let it, it can get quite addictive
I've had 2, one was a freebie in a mag, and the other was from the pound shop...I don't want lots of info, just to know the number of steps I'm doing.
I'm not trying to reduce carbs, but lately I've had sluggish problems (like, a whole week!)...I'm just drinking a lot, eating linseeds, and have started having a yakult every day. In the past I've had IBS-like symptoms, which have cleared up, so I'm desperate not to have problems in that departmentI like the warm water and lemon suggestion.

Just popped in to make an adjustment to today's lunch, I didn't have the duck salad wrap as when I got to DD's to take her and pup to the vet for a jab DD had bread and Brie ready for me. Yum! Today's lunch is now tomorrow's.
Luverly skool dinner puddings - jam suet pud with lumpy custard, and sago with jam. Odd that I don't like jam much today.
Welcome to the newbies
Sweet dreams
ellie my DM has IBS and the only thing that gives her any relief is Yakult. She hasn't had any probs for months now0 -

Stuck to my plan for yesterday and signed up to MFP, also started blogging on there, hopefully daily but if not however much I can, as it has really helped me on here financially so fingers crossed will do the same. I'm also going to try and work out how much each meal costs as well to make sure I am sticking to saving money too
Having said that, didn't nearly enough of my 1200 calories yesterday (plus walked the dog a couple of miles so gave me more d'oh!) so I think I was about 300 cals under and didn't really want to eat them at 8pm. It's educated me for today though so prepared to put some extra bits in which is good.
Made the mistake of watching GBBO last night (love it so much) and was craving cake after - but didn't have anytbh I get just as much a buzz from making cakes as eating them so will get baking Monday for sure.
Today:
B - (before work) 2 x Nimble Toast and butter (at work 11's) porridge with skimmed milk
L - salad and light choices cottage cheese
D - not decided whether to have one of my HM lean lamb lasagne or freeze the remainined two and make Prawn and Chorizo Paella in fear of the chorizo going funny and also to mix it up a bit.
S - strawberries and light evaporated milkDebt Free by 2015: £5839.01/£13000 1% challenge = 44.91%CAMRA Member: Drinking Ale doesn't make me any less of a woman :beer:0 -
Had a sneaky extra stand on the scales this morning, and it seems I've gone up a bit
Last week I decided to eat a little more, not binging just averaging about 1500 calories a day, because I was worried 1200 cals wasn't enough and I was feeling run down. Obviously not a good idea if I want to lose weight!
I've never really counted calories properly, and it's not the way I want to eat long term, but it's quite interesting seeing how they add up over a day, maybe it will help me make a few tweeks or changes that will help long term.
So, back to being stricter with myself
(re yakult...I bought the "light" version...there are 7g of sugar in that tiny little pot!...is that really necessary?)

Have a sunny day0 -
Hi everyone, I hope everyone is having a good day. I was on here a couple of years ago. I just popped by to remind myself of the eating plan I had on my signature, because in dire need of reminding. Feel inspired to join the thread again as I realise how much I miss it, and the old style thread in general.
Will get myself weighed and work out a target soonHealthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0
