fozziebeartoo Well done take a large pat on the back.Doesn't it make you feel good when you resist temptation
:):) When I went to bed last night I actually dreamt of a MccyDs strawberry milkshake I swear if I'd been awake I could have almost tasted it It my one thing that I adore thats a take-away, but its definitely off the menu until I have lost at least a stone then I will treat myself to one Hopefully mid October if I can lose it by then.Maybe my urge to drink one will go by then.:):)
Today I am taking my waffle machine and my doughnut making machine to DDs house as I look after my four DGS during the school holidays and I promised them we will make some.I know the temptation will be there to have some but having got almost through this week without giving in I am not going to now
Tonights dinner will be a ribeye steak I have just fished out of the freezer plus a big pile of salad and some organic strawberrys that my DD gave to me last night with plain yogurt on top.I have planned it out this morning, and the steak is in the fridge defrosting.
Breakfast shortly will be cereal and a chopped banana and lunch probably a small jacket spud with some chilli sauce for flavour.I love the Blue dragon dipping sauce on almost anything but dribbled onto a jacket spud it just livens it up a bit.I don't know if its low-cal or not ? but its only a dribble and its got to be better than a dollop of butter:):)
I
shall weigh myself on Saturday and I am hoping I have lost a little bit I am feeling quite hollow now ,not hungry but I do feel as though its begining to work.I decided to weigh on a Saturday morning and not keep jumping on the scales as I would only get cheesed off if the scales didn't show a difference.
My aim at the moment is to get into a pair of jeans that I have in the wardrobe by the time I go to visit my brother in France in early October. They are just that bit to 'snug' at the moment so I have around five weeks to lose a bit of my tummy at least.hopefully its doable:)
Onwards and upwards chums We will do it .0 -
Fozziebeartoo...well done you :T :T :T
we understand what a big deal it is
(last week I did a shop, and apart from 2 pizzas, everything in my trolley was healthy...I felt so smug :rotfl:)
officeguru...what a stressful situation with your in laws...it's awful to have to watch loved ones go downhill, and be limited in what you can do to help. My aunt is almost at the stage of needing to go into a home, but luckily she is still mentally alert (and very annoying with it) so she can make that decision herself. Presumably your in laws won't agree to moving? It must be terrible to be old and confused.

Hello
Is it ok to jump in? I've been overweight all my life (I was even a big baby!) and I'm now 43 and fed up of it. A few months ago I decided it was time I took better care of myself and have so far managed to lose 42lb - I still have a long way to go, though.
This seems like a really supportive thread and I am very much in need of support! I don't know anyone in real life that is losing weight and diet clubs are all far too expensive. Struggling to keep on track at the moment as it is feeling like quite a lonely journey so it will be really helpful to talk with people who are also on this walkJan NSD 4/15

Wotcha Tiff! It's always nice to see new people on this thread but, from my POV, it's particularly nice to see a fellow Pratchett fan.
Barring any last minute blips I look set for a 2lb loss tomorrow, which I am very pleased with as I've been in a serious CBA mood for much of the week.I just hope that not too much of that is from blood loss after a run-in with a vegetable peeler and a butternut squash last night - ouch!
Today goes:
B - two small white rolls with butter and peanut butter (trying to replace sleep with food - having a wailing baby living in the flat above mine isn't doing wonders for my sleep patterns); half a dozen dried apricots
S - digestive biscuit - well, it was the last one in the office packet and it looked lonely all by itself
L - bought sandwich / salad and fruit
D - spicy bean burger with salad and roasted butternut squash wedges (the ones I didn't bleed on, obviously!)
Then it's pub quiz night tonight but I'll only have one or two drinks as I'm struggling to stay awake as it is.Back after a very long break!0 -

Hello Tiffany Aching :hello: ...laughing at the big baby!
Wow, you've already lost 42 lbs, you must be doing something right. That's the total I want to lose, still a long way from that though.
You're right, this is a supportive thread, I'm sure posting on here will help keep you going.

Welcome, Tiffany Aching and also all the other newbies that I have read about over the last posts...
Not a lot to say today... Yes, I know it makes a change... and thank you for your kind thoughts, Ellie .. I am looking at some leaflets for different food for them so that, hopefully, they don't just toss it...
Well, what am I having today..... I had pasta last night and I have a little sauce left over so I am going to convert it into Minestrone... I'll fry a little smoked bacon in it's own fat and then add to the sauce, along with a chicken stock cube... I could add vegetables , but I can't, so I'll chop up 1 and a half raw potatoes and add it instead and also some parsley.. I would love to add some Heinz beans, but I would have to pick them all out so I won't... (As my better half loves them, I'll just add some once I take my portion out...) and then I'll have a look through my freezer and 10 years of food stores and see what I have in miniature pasta and then I will throw a handful in... If someone wants to make it, I used to use up all my little bits and pieces out of the freezer... such as the peas, or sweetcorn or that that you haven't got enough for a meal..
If you want to add meat, I always have thick slices of smoked gammon in the freezer already cubed.... or you could add these smoked sausages that are available nowadays.... (too much fat ????) you could also add chilli to give the soup some bite... It should be a good hearty soup by the time you are finished... and you would have that instead of a meal... I also always grate some cheese on top but I only buy strong cheese so that I don't need a lot...
Have a good day, everyone... I am off to see to the mother and 5 kittens and the other cat hiding under the bed....0 -
Sorry to hear that you and your family are going through the mill at the moment OG, can you ask for a 2nd opinion as to your ILs needing to go into a home (horrible though that idea is, if they need that then they need it).
Welcome to the [STRIKE]madhouse[/STRIKE]thread Tiff - I am sure you will fit right inLet me know if you want to join in the weight loss challenge (5 more weekends for this one then I set another up, which will take us to Yule )

..
OG, when my aunt came home from hospital, they arranged for her to have frozen ready meals delivered free for a few weeks...now she pays for them (she wasn't recovered enough to cook). Would your in laws eat those? I feel bad even saying it, especially after reading the lovely things you cook from scratch, but if it's too hard for them to cook now, maybe needs must?

Hello, is it ok to join? I'm overweight, always have been, but the last few years I've piled it on and it's time to do something about it! I'm quite ashamed of it so don't talk to my friends about weight loss etc, but could use some support and this thread seems lovely.
I could do to lose 5 stones, but atm anything would be welcome! I'm going away for Christmas so I at least need to fit in my summer clothes. I don't like to admit to myself that I'm too fat for most of my wardrobe, so am very limited to what I can wear atm.
Food shopping tomorrow so I'll stock up on lots of nice healthy food.
I've weighed myself this morning () so at least I know where I'm starting from! x
