Not been around for a long time but am in need to restart keeping a food diary, and where better than in my old haunt, the OS Forum?
Did not have the nerve to step on scales but will do in due course. Trying to cut out sugar and refined carbs and reduce dairy.
Here goes:
Breakfast: Greek yogurt with blueberries and chopped nuts
Lunch: grilled mushrooms and vegetables, mixed salad with smoked salmon flakes
Snack: a few almonds
Dinner: tofu with mixed veg stir fry.
No exercise, just a bit of walking today. Plenty of water.
Good nightFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Oh I know. I'm STS this week. Happy enough with that for the time being.0 -
(((hugs))) TG. Just noticed, one more post and you've reached 1000!
Welcome back JackieO hope you had a super time
Welcome back Caterina, good to 'see' you
ellie I empathise, I eat reasonably healthily and am often complemented on my skin, hair etc., but just once in a while the whole lot looks 'grey' and unkempt no matter what I do. Sometimes ones psychological condition outweighs the physical one, but I just have to tell myself 'this too shall pass', and it usually does.
B - F&F, ss milk
D - jacket, chilli & cheese, green salad. 3 scoops ice-cream, choc sauce and cream - this last not asked for but the restaurant is UNM and I think they're trying to impress.
T - salad wrap
S - orange, melon
E - 3x10 mins

For the 1st time in ages, I forgot to write down what I ate yesterday.....and now it seems a long time ago!
It went like this....
B - weetabix
L - 1/2 stuffed pepper and black forest gateau (big bit)
T - turkey wrap and crisps
E - weetabix
Later E - glass of sherry, havent had any for well over 2 months and it tasted lovely!
Must remember to write it all down today, my memory is useless.
I am going to DD2's for lunch today, 1st time in her new house, so I am looking forward to not having to cook.0 -

Anyone else had this problem?
Apart from my useless back and a grumpy tummy, I'm always well...I can go for years without catching a cold, it's so long since I was sick I can't remember when it was, I don't catch the bugs that go round...
so why is it that in the last 3 weeks or so, when I've been making an extra effort to eat well and making better choices, have I had one minor ailment after another?
I look tired and run-down, although that could be partly because I've started waking in the night again, after dreaming about a situation from my past (and I shouldn't be, because it's past!)...and once I'm awake, I start coughing and can't get back to sleep  I've been up since 4am.
With all the salady stuff I've been eating, I should be leaping around full of energy, not feeling worse than normal
Sorry to hear that you are not keeping too well...
I've been waking up a lot during the night but it is because I get too warm... or the light shining in the bedroom but mostly because, Arthur, one of the cats I look after has taken to jumping off the top of the wardrobe onto my bed at 4.00 am in the morning and wanting me to clap him
Are you outside more than usual ??? Could you be catching lurgies from other people ??? As it is the holiday time, are you getting more visitors that are bringing in germs or are you going out more, therefore, catching bugs outside.. I used to be a lecturer and as soon as the term time started, I used to get all the bugs going round simply because of the numbers of students...
I work a lot in the garden and I am coughing during the night and I put it down to all the seeds and stuff that's in the air...
I know that it could be that it is nothing to do with any of these suggestions but if you are not sleeping at night, you will be like a zombie during the day... Are you sure you are getting enough protein ???
You take care and I hope you are in the pink soon... :beer:0 -

Thank you officeguru
Still feeling pretty lousy, and also stiff from trying to sleep sitting up to stop the coughing.
I think I got this latest throat and cough from my sister-in-law that I was out with last weekend. I'm frustrated because I usually don't catch anything that's going around...like I have a super effective immune system...I'm not used to this
And you're right, I probably don't get enough protein, and I DO feel like a zombie!
BTW, what does Arthur do on top of the wardrobe..have you checked the toblerone situation lately? :rotfl:
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Hi Everyone! hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday - it is VERY warm today here on Merseyside!
theatregirl Thinking of you ((()))
Well done to the losers - I have to say that you all seem to be more restrained than me when you have "off diet" days - when I fall off the wagon I do it in style and eat loads more than you all seem to!!
Today I am back at it with a vengence though - I got up late so just had a big bowl of porridge made with splenda, and I am hoping not to have anything else until my evening meal which is likely to be roast turkey breast with salad and jacket potato.Jane

Hi there, I haven't posted on here before but I'd like to join in. You all seem like a friendly bunch.
I'm not seriously overweight but I'd like to get to a weight that I'm comfortable with me being if you know what I mean. I've been away on holiday so there was much eating out, and this weekend I've had two meals out and a Sunday lunch at my mum's which along with bingeing on whole bags of popcorn and a whole box of chocs in two dayshas meant that I'm 6.5lb over where I should be.
I probably won't post every day, but its nice to read what you are all up to and feel part of a little weight loss community. How does the challenge thing work? I saw on one post that it ends on 30th September so I think 6.5lb should easily be achievable by then (5 weeks) don't you?
Can you add me to your list of challengers please? What day is weigh-in day?
Right, off to browse the recipe ideas. I'm looking for a 'healthy' cereal-type bar and any courgette recipes as I have a glut in the garden at the moment. Courgettes seem to be one of the only things I can grow with any degree of success!
Bye for now!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

good afternoon chums, well I am sticking like glue to reduced eating plan and feeling a bit hollow at the moment but a large glass of cold water should sort that problem out so far today I have had
B.30g bran flakes and skimmed milk
L.3 small slices of granary bread with the other half of a tin of beans on(left from yesterday) two small mandarin oranges
D.will be a jacket spud and piles of mixed veg and a small chicken kiev from the freezer, pudding will be a yoghurt
So far no snacks, as I intend to cut them out altogether if I can or at most substitute fruit for them.I am determined that it will go this time. I have an operation due in the New Year so its got to be got off, and I have to be as fit as possible for my op. or it won't be done.
Onwards and upwards chums
