  • Well done to the losers/STS

A promising start methinks, I may be a bit premature but scales are showing a ½ lb loss, fingers crossed it is still off tomorrow morning.

Just done a F & V shop at Lid!, and couldn’t resist their lovely aubergines so like OG I will be treating myself to Melanzane alla Parmigiana tomorrow.

    Todays plan =
B – Slice of toast with Ham & Tomato
L – Soup – might be butternut squash or tomato & lentil; I really need to label the bags!!
D – Grilled Pork Chop, beansprout & watercress salad, leeks a la grecque – I know, I know lot of oil in this one but I’ll only have a small portion and other than my slice of toast this morning no stodgy carbs passing my lips.
S – well stocked fruit bowl if needed.

Hi Need2bethrifty, I noticed your comment about liking somehting sweet with your coffee. This has been my downfall too and usually means several biscuits or a huge piece of cake with every tea or coffee. I realised it was the sweetness I wanted so recently started adding half a sugar to my hot drinks which doesn't sound very good for weight loss but actually works out a lot fewer calories and a lot less fat than the biscuits or cake.

I really don't have much of a sweet tooth and stopped taking milk and sugar in teas & coffee years ago, I was just getting into bad habits sitting in front of the TV nibbling on biscuits - will get the knitting out again or go to bed earlier :rotfl:
I am just watching the Weight loss programme which was on BBC2 the other night - the one about the slimming clubs. It is reinforcing with me how Slimming clubs are not for me and that posh woman is REALLY getting on my nerves - she reckons she's fat because she likes fois gras - What a t*t.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Oh dear, that really made me laugh out loud almost wet myself.... must go and watch it as well.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I was thinking exactly the same, but was too polite to say :rotfl:
I mentally zoned her out when she was telling us about all her designer clothes...not interested :)

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?
  • I watched a food programme last night and it reinforced what I have thought for years.... It's all a huge money making business ... but I found it interesting how our government is sucking up to huge food companies... now who would have thought that ?????? :(:(:( They would obviously put the people first :p:p
  • Hello all! Sorry i've been MIA, moved house over the 2 weekends and have never been so tired! Plus with all the moving and packing and lifting i was expecting at least 2 stone off (haha) but alas, not.

    Hope you are all well.

    Finally, i can report a 1lb loss :)

Will catch up with the thread over the weekend (if broadband man comes to install!)

L - salad box from the local sandwich shop, probably with some of their delicious home-cooked ham, with two rye crispbreads; pot of rhubarb yoghurt

I ended up having chilli chicken, forgetting that that shop mainly caters for the student market so when they say chilli they mean CHILLI! I'm not complaining - I like spicy food - but I hope my nose and eyes stop streaming soon!
Back after a very long break!

Hellooooo my lovely ladies, just checking in from sunny Las Vegas! :D

Well done all the losers and STSers, sorry I don't have time to read through all the posts I have missed! :o

We are having a wonderful time and surprisingly, a week in to our holiday and the scales in the bathroom here (why do hotels do that?!) reckon I have LOST 3lbs! :D this is not my weigh in though, as I should stick with my scales at home for consistency.

We spent up until yesterday in beautiful Yosemite national park, which was very diet friendly. Loads of walking including a 9 mile hike on Wednesday, which was a huge deal for me after my broken foot and with no training or residual fitness! Also didn't eat that much at all - maximum of 2 meals a day and no snacks.

Now however we are in Vegas so all bets are off! Just hoping I might manage to only gain back what I have lost this week and so come back neutral - I can hope! Just had a banana for breakfast this morning and off for a walk up and down the strip, will probably walk a couple of miles and have a buffet late afternoon that will cover lunch and dinner.

What is helping is we are obviously taking loads of photos and my goodness I am looking terrible in pictures, like a beached whale :( looking at the photos we are taking is helping to curb any excess as I really do NOT want to get even bigger than I am now :(

Hope you are all well and have a lovely bank holiday weekend (I think it is this week? I'm not even sure what day it is :D)

    Another STS week here also.

    Today was -
    B F&F, ss milk
    L - 2 fingers rolls, 1xchicken salad, 1x rf cheese &tomato
D - sweet potato wedges, 2 scrambled eggs
S - grapes, melon, nana, celery, carrot batons
E - repaired shed window, roofing felt, vacuumed shed out, cleaned and replaced all tools that have been sitting on the grass while shed was re-sited. Thinned out strawberry bed, moved pots to their new places, pruned escalonia, painted frames of new fencing panels - still too wet after yesterday's downpour to do more than that. Jiggered!

    Sweet dreams :)
  • Well done all STS's, losers........and wishing you well for next weighin to gainers :j

OH and I had our only full day together yesterday and ate accordingly :o so now my challenge is to NOT let a one day slip, turn into a 4 day slip.

    Yesterday was:-

B - redcurrants, blackcurrants, low fat greek yog and granola

    S - 5 Special K crisps

L - seedy wrap with onion, orange pepper, mushroom, passata, sprinkle of cheese and LO bacon medallion (1/2 price Lidl) baked into a pizzaish thing.......tasted totally gorgeous

S - soft icecream and 1/2 a churro at Costco

T - duck breast, stir fry veg, small amount of boiled rice

E - Nature Valley biscuit thingies x 3 single bars (not 3 double packs) - its 2 months since I had a biscuit and it tasted blooming lovely!!

I now have 3 days in the house (arthritis keeping me indoors) with OH at work.......and this is the time I usually comfort eat, so finger crossed I can eat reasonably.

    :D
