Afternoon - my scales showed a pound down today, making it an sts but I'm going to leave it as it is and hope to build on it for next week. I don't feel so gassy today but DH feels a bit off so I think it's a little bug we've got. At least it doesn't last long.

That wasnt just any cornish pasty I mentioned, it was hand made on the farm, with fresh veggies and gorgeous chunks of free range beef, that they raise themselves and light flakey pastry that wasnt dripping in fat.....:D

Thank goodness I only bought ONE!!

    :rotfl:

Next time I shall try and stick to buying a bunch of organic carrots ;)

Well done on all the losses, peeps! :D

Oh fozzie, did you have to mention Cornish pasties? I've got to go up to the shop in a bit, just for some boring-but-necessary things, and now I want to get a pasty while I'm there. :(

Sorry to be a pain, Knit Witch, but can I change my total for this week, please? The scales are showing a 1lb loss this morning, and obviously I'd far rather have that than yesterday's STS!

    Today goes:

Brunch - scrambled eggs with smoked trout and three rye crispbreads with a scraping of butter
Snack - chopped nectarine with a small amount of honey yoghurt
Dinner - spicy bean burritos, made with wholemeal wraps and a small amount of cheese (I'll use the last little bit of the decent stuff I bought at a farmers' market last month, so I won't be tempted to use more than I should). And a couple of glasses of wine as the bottle's open from last night. ;)

And no Cornish pasties, in any way whatsoever. ;)

I started the day full of determination to not do the usual thing of putting on a pound or two over the weekend, and then having to lose it the following week...imagine how horrible it would be next Friday if I had to say "I'm obese again!" :rotfl:

I'm not sure how I've done today..granola for breakfast, 2 cereal bars for lunch on the go, a few spoonfuls of ice cream which was just going to waste...

I've been out all day, and arranged to go to my sister-in-laws for tea...she texted me and said How'd you fancy fish and chips?...so I said I'm on a diet, that sounds lovely!
So I did the long drive to her house, looking forward to fish and chips, and when I got there she said as I was dieting she'd changed it to turkey and veg stir fry :rotfl: Someone was watching over me :)

Although she did give me 2 choc digestives with my coffee, and I ate them. I'm not bothered by biscuits at all now, but they were very nice.

I've been looking at my diary trying to encourage myself (you know, like "I could be half a stone lighter in so many weeks")...did you all know it's only 18 weeks until xmas?
    Don't all shoot at once...

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

    Hi Ellie

I just popped on the forum and I thought I had read '10 weeks until xmas' and I couldn't believe it... I know it is dark outside but I thought we were still in August !!!!! and then I realised my cursor was covering the inside of the '8' so it looked like a '0'...

I took a sip of my wine, and I feel alright now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Good night all...

Then got home and DM in her wisdom had been cleaning, amongst other things, she'd wiped down the inside of the fridge. In doing so she'd taken my meals and stuff I had on the shelf for defrosting and put them back into the freezer! So that meant takeaway which was another bad choice but tbh I didnt have the energy to cook!
What a shame - she probably thought she was helping you :o
I hope they hadn't defrosted, though, as they might not be safe if re-frozen. I know you are particularly careful about this sort of thing TG, but there might be others who would think it's ok to re-freeze food. :)

Hectic day at work. 'nuf said! Night night :)

Little Miss Wii told me this morning that my weight had decreased since last time, but not enough to make a whole lb, so I'll wait until next week when hopefully she will tell me I have lost a bit more. So officially STS this week.

I got on the wii yesterday, for the first time in 13 days, and was told that I'd lost 2lbs since my last weigh in, but I still needed to lose a little more to reach my goal, although my goal was to lose 2lbs in 2 weeks!?

We had our usual Saturday dinner of pizza and potato skins today (only half of an iceland thin crust pizza each), but because of the exercise I've done today, I've managed to stay under my daily calorie allowance, so that's good. All the chocolate cake has gone, but yesterday OH brought home a pack of kit kats, which his work colleagues had bought him as part of his birthday present, so we have those to eat as he insists on sharing them with me. I said if we have 2 fingers each per day it will be easier to not ruin our efforts, plus they will last a bit longer.

So, ladies, I am in my hotel near the airport and in a few hours will be jetting off to California :D going to go along to the airport and have a massage and breakfast in the Concorde Lounge (flying First - yes, I am spoilt!*). I can't promise there won't be champagne with breakfast!

Once again please wish me willpower on holiday. I do want to enjoy myself and do NOT want to be 'on a diet' while on holiday but I also don't want to gain half a stone in two weeks. That could so easily happen. I have brought gym stuff so I can do whatever my foot will allow in the hotel gyms and I am planning to do as much walking as possible (again within the limitations of my stupid foot), particularly during our 3 days in Yosemite. Maybe I can lose weight in the first few days of the holiday through walking, and then only gain back that weight! Wishful thinking?!

Anyway, hope you all have a good couple of weeks and good luck to you all with the weight losses while I am away - you are all doing sooooo well and I will need to take inspiration from you when I am back in the fold in September!

    Xxxxx

  • Yesterday was bound to be bad for food choices for me, since I was awake at 3.45 am and downstairs by 5am (I was ready for a full 3 course evening meal by 8am)!! :rotfl:

B - tried a WW greek style yog, OMG tasted like an uber-sweet chemical concoction (which I suppose it is ;)) so ended up with just 25g of granola (1/2 my usual portion)

    S - 2 ryvita and butter

L - some LO Costco pizza found in the freezer and the last Enigma Cornetto

    S - nectarine

T - lamb shank (took all the yummy fat off), carrot and swede (no butter added) and 55g of frozen roast spuds

S - another slice of black forest gateau

Mmmm....it doesnt look quite as bad now I have typed it out, but well over 2000 calories......I have called it 2265 in my food diary.

I had a lie-in today, so less time to eat so thats a bonus.

    ;)

The fact Mr Whippy usually stops right outside my house on Sunday afternoons is probably NOT a bonus - but yummy!

    :D
