I discovered my new kitchen scales weigh in mls, so I have weighed out 500ml of milk, the last 2 days and I just use from that jug....
I am still shocked how much I have been drinking without
noticing
But I keep telling myself that ladies of a delicate age (like me) need the calcium for our bones! :rotfl:Me too! I'm sure I underestimate the milk in my huge mug0 -

I wish we could get a definitive answer on whether you should drink water, or whether lots of tea does the same job. I never saw people going round with water bottles when I was young!
As mentioned my kettle never has the chance to get cold so I drink a lot of milk. I used to think I was overdoing it until I realised I can't drink too much milk, and it's basically water anyway. Being OS I buy full milk and dilute it 50/50 with water, I get all sorts of comments when I tell people whjat I do but I've never had anyone complain when they've drunk tea, or had custard, sauces, rice pud etc., in my home. Perhaps they're too polite but they keep coming back so I really don't think they know! (And when I go into Mr M on a Wednesday evening and can pick up as many 4-pint containers as I like, rtc at about 9p each I smile to myself at people who look, pick it up, put it down again and go to the other end of the aisle to buy it at full price)
I need add a couple of 'health' fruit biscuits which I had this afternoon.
Sweet dreams0 -
Thankyou for the lovely welcomes.
As there is still a good way to go i would like to join the challenge if that is ok,if i could be reminded or do i choose my own target to reach in the next 7 weeks?
Sorry for such a late reply, after a long wait i have finally sold my car a galaxy people carrier from childminding days. It was picked up yesterday and as i was so surprised it went i had not yet been looking for a replacement which is what has been going on the last 24hrs with me. Who knew it would be so hard to find a 5dr little run about!
Needless to say food wise not greatest
B- F&F 125ml ssm
no lunch as was car hunting as only time brother could help with search,as is starting his night shift.
d-small serving of hm potato salad (mfp says only 150c pp for decent portion) with slice of cut up ham from butchers, then the downfall,parmesan/garlic mini ciabatta and husband got me chocolate which after stressful day, with car hunting and children was out of my powers to resist :-( sweet things are weakness esp chocolate!
When do you guys like to weigh in?
Hoping all the under the weather guys are feeling back on form now too :-)0 -
Hi ajt welcome to the forum
You choose your own target and most of us weigh in on a Friday or Saturday.
If you put your weeks loss/sts (stay the same)/gain in red bold it makes it easier for the lovely Knit Witch to see and do the chart.
Some of us put our daily menu, some don't, I find it helps me stay on track if I do.
My last car recently expired and I needed what you're looking for, a small 5-door hatch. I got an i20 and love it, mind you my last three cars have been Hyundai's, they're not glamorous or swish but they're reliable and inexpensive to run. I don't get commission, but I should!
Might not be on for a week or so as DGS3 is taking my comp on Thursday evening to see if he can breathe life back into it. Fingers/toes/everything crossed. Will weigh in Thurs morning this week if that's okay.
Night night, again0 -
Today is my 1st weigh-in since joining the thread.
14 - 4 today so thats -4lbs
No more time away now until late September, when we are off on a short cruise, so hopefully I can knuckle down a bit more than usual.
Although OH did just offer to take me tomorrow, to a new Tea Rooms that has opened recently........
And I am a complete sucker for a Cream Tea!!!
Hopefully my willpower will still be in attendance tomorrow....

I have been using SW as an excuse to eat too much "free" food and I just HAVE to get a grip on my portion sizes.
So old fashioned calorie counting for me, with a bit of Rosemary Conley portion pots thrown in.
I had lost 11 lbs......
But a weekend away in a nice hotel with OH has seen me re-find 3 of them!
So currently 14 - 8, down from 15 - 2.
Sorry for lack of smilie waves but MSE wont let me use them at the moment.....common problem I think at the mo!0 -
Well done fozziebeartoo :T
Quite smug with myself today...been out for a walk already
Did a two mile walk which I can manage in 40 minutes at the moment...it took me an hour, so I spent 20 minutes talking to people...but it's nice meeting people to talk to!
Felt a bit more like my old self, a bit less in pain, so very happy...it is always temporary, but every day helps
I even felt a bit lighter, but maybe that would be my imagination :rotfl:
I don't know because I didn't get a chance for a sneaky weigh in this morning...DS2 (the one who doesn't live here) phoned me at 6am saying he couldn't get in because I'd left the key in the door! So normal bathroom routine went out the window, and when I got to it a couple of hours later it was too late to weigh because I'd consumed! On the plus side, I gave him all the cake I had left, and he ate it as part of his breakfast, so that temptation has been removed
I've already had a homemade biscuit though
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
I am not sure if posting my food helps or not, so if no-one minds, I will carry on for a bit and see if I can be 100% truthful about what I eat, and not "accidently" forget things
Yesterday came in at 1290 calories, I saved some for evening snacking, but didnt feel hungry so didnt use them.....
Did I just just say "didnt feel hungry"???
Yesterday was:-
B - 50g of crunchy granola (the one with little all bran sticks in, from H&B)
L - 2 slices of Burgen bread with ham and butter and pickle (planned to have one slice but......:o)
T - chicken, 50g rice, mushrooms, peas ( I would normally have added an egg to stir fry but I thought I had eaten more calories than I actually had......must not try and add up in my head)!!
I was expecting 50g of dry rice to be a rubbish portion but when I had added the veg, it was fine.
However it was a very DRY meal (I usually have stir fry sauce with it) so thats probably why it filled me up, it got stuck in my tum and just sat there!
:rotfl:
S - nectarine
500ml of ss milk for cuppas and cereal
Aiming for between 1400 and 1600 calories for today.0 -
Morning all.
Well, my intention of being good at the pub last night didn't quite work: my drink of choice is cider which, being fermented fruit juice, is pretty high in calories.I'm now going to have to be super-good for the next few days to make up for it.
B - portion of cherries; cereal bar
L - avocado and spicy squid salad with a couple of slices of unbuttered walnut bread
D - cheese and onion batter pudding with baked beans - I'll use the last of the strong cheese to cut down the calories a bit
Have a good day, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Hi everyone

I did my DVD last night and intend to do it tonight too
That programme on BBC2 last night was really good I think one day far far in the future fast food and junk food will be labelled along side smoking!! I cant believe that products that are making people ill and causing diesase are allowed to be sold so freely and marketed at childrenO/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -
Afternoon all
Back to feeling better! Just as well since I'm hosting a BBQ this evening! lol.
Nice weather here, have in some lean burger for grilling, chicken legs (will be able to drain fat and remove skin!), steak, weightwatchers sausages, and then plenty of salad, nibbles, rolls, cheese slices for burgers....om nom nom.
of course hosting means the house got a massive tidy! DM ran the hoover around the rooms and did the dusting while I tackled both the bushes at the front of the house, and the weeds in the back garden! pulled a muscle wrenching a root out of the flowerbed though - owie!
Been snacking (on unhealthy stuff) todaybut plenty of exercise though so I guess I'm just eating the burnt calories back on :rotfl:
