I'm a bit disappointed with an STS this week, as I've mostly been good, but I suppose I can't lose every week.

It was my birthday yesterday, so OH and I went out to the toby carvery for dinner. After having quite a large meal (which I struggled with), we also had a dessert, although I knew I shouldn't. I had the honeycomb dessert (according to MFP this was 728 cals:eek:), which is lovely, but I couldn't finish it all as it was too sweet (never thought I'd be able to say that, lol!), and was making me feel a bit sick. I only had a pint of pear cider to drink, so it could have been worse.

I'm now hoping that this cheat day will work the same as the weekend I had for DS's birthday, and I'll lose at least a couple of pounds next week, lol, although OH is determined to get a cake tomorrow!

  • Well done to everyone who lost this week. Disappointed to say that it's yet another STS for me this week.

Well, two days off weight loss, featuring far too much takeaway pizza and wine, and I've put on best part of a pound and a half since Friday. Consider me suitably shame-faced and back on the straight and narrow!

    Today goes:

Breakfast - two slices of HM white bread with 2tsp of peanut butter and a sliced banana
No lunch as I had breakfast late, but a handful of fresh cherries if I feel peckish later
Dinner - HG aubergines with tomatoes and onions, with a roast chicken thigh with the skin removed (it was going to be sausages, but that's out of the question now)

PS - is anyone else having problems posting? I get an error message and it won't let me post if I try to include any smilies, which is rather annoying. ETA - no, it's not just me! https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/62801027#Comment_62801027
Back after a very long break!
  • Just popped in to say that, after a STS last week I lost 4lbsthis week, so I am quite pleased. Will now go back and read through all that you've all been up to!! I bought the Hairy Bikers diet book and am going to try and make one of their recipes for tea tonight - will report back later!!!

I had that problem last night, my message wouldn't even preview, then I posted without previewing (which I hate doing in case I've made a mistake) and I got the same message, but when I came back to the thread to try again later, I found that the message had posted.

Well I had to go to the blood donors today, and afterwards we went into Mr T's to get a pizza for tonight so I don't have to cook, and we also got a cake for my birthday. It's only a small, 6 portion, chocolate one, which OH and I will eat over at least 3 days, which is much better than the 16-20 portion ones we usually get, to be shared between no more than 4-5 people, lol! Mind you, it's still 290 cals per slice so I will have to make sure I exercise to work it off, lol!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

I almost don't want to report how I've done this weekend, but then you can't just post when you've been good, can you?

Saturday was good, I was busy all day, and pleased with myself that I made food when I got home instead of having takeaway.

Today...oh dear, I've done sweet FA...I've been in pain this weekend, but that's no excuse for sitting in front of the tv all day, I could have done much more even just pottering about the house. The most exercise I got was a SM shop this morning.
I was ok with eating, and planning something simple for evening meal. Then DS turns up unexpectedly at 5pm, so a proper meal is required...and *that* is my feeble excuse for why I sent him to the chip shop! He brought me fish and chips, and it was ginormous! I couldn't finish it, which was annoying, I hate to waste food I've paid for (the "not wasting anything" always overrides "remember you're dieting")
I would have kept half for tomorrow, but didn't think it would reheat very well. I used to reheat Chinese takeaway the next day, until I read that's it's dangerous to reheat rice because bacteria grows in it...so that stopped that habit!

I'd like to think that my weekend will average out okay, but I doubt it, I've really overdone it today. Oh well, tomorrows a new week (I think I said that last week too)

recovering spendaholic..."quite pleased"....quite? you should be dancing around the house singing! that's a great loss.

Have been able to post but there are no 'thanks' buttons, so will have to click them all later. No smilies either, so RS with have to have a WELL DONE!!! instead of the clapping smiley I wanted to use.
Ellie if you don't have a little of what you fancy from time to time you'll get fed up and be more likely to throw in the towel. if I have a jacket potato or muffin I'm not going to feel guilty, I ate it, enjoyed it, don't feel guilty about it, and will work it off over the next day or two

B - F&F, Greek ff yogurt, raspberries & blackberries from the garden
D - jacket with chilli & cheese, side salad. Couldn't eat all of the jacket as it was huge!
T - muffin and a cuppa (only one more muffin left as gave my neighbour three)
    S - melon
E - 2x10 mins, possibly fit in another one this evening

    have a good evening <smiley face>

You're right sparrer...except I didn't have a little of what I fancied, I had a great huge plateful!!! Will have to try and walk more next week.

I also tried to give RS a clapping smiley, but no luck!
I do have the thanks button though, very strange.

Well I will be joining you ellie in the fish and chips as we also had today that today (and it was lively) will also raise in the form of a slice of hm coffee and walnut cake:eek:

I knew there was a reason I don't make that cake too often it was so nice. In my defense I made it for dh as he is off for the week with the kids, I also made a nut free one for dd as she is allergic and resisted the urge to taste hers (as it was the same without the nuts!)

    B. 2 pancakes dh had made for the kids
    L. Cake
    D. F&C

    Oh dear:eek:
