Sparrer, you still did better than me, so that is something to be pleased about
Really I am only doing so appallingly to make you all feel better and give you something to measure yourselves against....really I am doing it to be kind, :A it is nothing to do with utter lack of willpower and too much pasta! At least there has been no cake this week....YET! :rotfl:0 -
TG...look on the back of your Pilates for Dummies DVD (assuming it's the same one as mine)...does it say the woman is 14 instead of (presumably) 41? Mine does and I thought it was hilarious when I noticed! Pilates is so good it can reverse the aging process...:rotfl:
Damn, I was hoping it would, needed a laugh! Ran off to get it....but it doesntMy Pilates for Dummies "class" is run by a Tracey Thompson? Dont know if thats the same one as yours also?
DM is trying to sabotage me! She knows I've been craving chips most of the week and offered to give me money to pop into the fish&chip shop when I went to the post office - the chip shop is five doors down from there! I refused and told her it would take me waaaaay over my calories for the day/week/year/decade!
[Does anyone else live with someone who is like that - knows you're trying to lose weight, knows you count calories and try and eat healthy and then tries to keep you overweight by offering something calorific? Thank God I have some willpower otherwise I would be dashing to that chip shop right now! :rotfl:]
anyway - digital scales this morning showing an increase of +0.5lb. Not thrilled but usually it would be a whole pound on the normal scale, so maybe the pilates and little mini workouts are doing something.
b - cheese on toast, fruit pot
l - fish and mushy peas [NO CHIPS!]
d - hm portion of rice and quorn
s - as MFP allows, but must try not to eat so much between meals.0 -
Afternoon all.
I know I said I wouldn't be on the forum today, but I over-slept so badly that I've changed my mind about going out for the day.Today is still going to be a day off weightloss - it'll just be a day off at home instead!
I really only popped in to say very well done, everyone, and have a lovely holiday JackieO.
daisiegg - I know exactly what you mean about lost motivation before going on holiday as I feel exactly the same - unfortunately my holiday isn't until early September, so I'm going to have to find it again as I can't really take four weeks off!Back after a very long break!0 -
Hi Everyone
Well done the losers!
Im reporting +1LB :eek::eek: what the flip?!!!
Im alittle fed up now to be honest as I have done my work out DVD mon, tues & wed plus took my OH dog out for a 1/2 hr walk last night and cleaned for about an hour!! AND i have been filling in MFP although I have been over my calories each day:o (guess thats where im going wrong huh?!)
Anyway i will not give up!
I measured myself a week last wednesday so ill measure myself this coming wed to see if ive lost any inches :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:more likely to be millimetres
Did anyone see that diet programme last night on BBC2? It a four part series and very interesting. It basically said any fad diet inc ww, slim fast, dukan etc etc dont work! They did a study following ww dieters and after 5 yrs only 16% were slimmer than when they started (and by thinner they literally mean weigh less even if it was just a couple of pounds!):eek:
A doctor on there said we would all be better off concentrating on eating healthy and abit of exercise
Today:
B: 2 small wholemeal toast, butter, 2 x eggs
L: 1/2 wholemeal bagette with chesse & salad, packet of french fried, muller corner
S: I have an apple & banana but unsure if ill eat both
T: Going out for a curry......................... will try and be good :rotfl:O/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -
TG, mine is a Michelle Dozias so it can't be the same one! It is this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pilates-Workout-For-Dummies-DVD/dp/B00009KP1V/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376048402&sr=8-1&keywords=Pilates+workout+for+dummies - literally 'for dummies'!
Just done my 15 mins fast walking on the treadmill (all my foot can manage but at least it is something. My mum works in a hospital and asked one of the doctors she is friendly with and the doctor said with a break like mine it will take at least 6 months to get fully back to normal. So I am pleased I can do anything) and some of my Pilates DVD.
I also went crazy buying '10 minute solution' DVDs as they were all super cheap on Amazon so I might crack out one of those. I have 5!!! Variety is the spice of life after all...I just hope they aren't all the same!
The Pilates one is really good. I can really feel my muscles working and they ache afterwards. It is hard though! But floor exercise is just what I need, can't be leaping around on the foot after all.
Good luck to anyone still left to weigh in!0 -

I'm still waiting for my 10 mins solution DVD to come in the post! Maybe tomorrow! :rotfl:
Just walked to PO and back, nice little walk. Didnt even LOOK at the chipshop!!!!
Posted off a shedload of forms to do with DD's plot in the cemetery to deal with and then more solicitors stuff too, thankfully the details seem to have been passed onto real solicitors now and not a associate firm anymore so pleased that it's all straightforward again for the time being.
Tape measure isnt showing any improvements so getting a bit fed up too! Going to fill in MFP and will do workout/pilates later. I'm determined to get this sodding half pound off that came along this morning!! :mad:0 -
Afternoon
STS this week which I'm happy with because I've kept off the pound I didn't expect to lose last week! At this stage I don't expect to lose every week, as long as I don't put on that's fine. I just keep plodding. It's been about 2 1/2 years now so it's more of a lifetime thing (I hope). And it was my birthday last Tuesday and I didn't pig out even though I was tempted.0 -
TG, is that DVD any good? I might get it as well!
Well done on resisting chips! amazing! Guess what I had for lunch.............a bowl of runner beans dressed with lemon juice, salt and pepper! That's it! A bowl of green stuff for my lunch!
Don't worry, I am still the Daisy you know and love because it will most definitely be pasta for dinnerBut it makes me feel better about indulging at one of the day's meals if I have been incredibly good at the others (those beans were 27 calories!) The past dish will also contain onions, mushrooms, peppers and carrots and I will snack on fruit so it's all not TOO bad.
Well done on your achievements Pollybear! You sound like you've cracked it0 -
TG, is that DVD any good? I might get it as well!
I quite like it - for me a DVD workout is all about the trainer, I can't stand these Americanized sorts, or the ones where the teacher is all nasally and patronising! :rotfl:
The woman on the DVD I have is quite nice and shows you what to do before you do it, first time I did the DVD all the way through I didnt realise it would be done so quickly!
Need to confess, I had pasta with my fish and peas for lunch....but thats better than the millon calories the chips would have had - the 20g of pasta I had only had 71 (according to MFP!)0 -
How did you manage to have 20g of pasta?!? Surely that is about one spoonful! I am in absolute awe of you!!!0
