Morning all.
Last night's dinner plan went awry when I got home to find that the milk I had taken out of the freezer in the morning was still a solid block of ice, so I couldn't make the nice, healthy oven-baked veggie fritters I'd planned.Instead I had sausages (mini ones - chipolatas - but still
), with some couscous and veg salad, then added several slices of tomato flatbread: far too many calories and carbs, which means that my weigh-in result for this week is only 1/2lb loss, rather than the whole pound I was expecting. I suppose any loss is better than none, but I'm still quite .
Anyway, today goes:
B - three slices LO tomato flatbread, three cold chipolatas, banana
L - something salady and some fruit - I'm going to have to start getting more organised so I've got something for lunch and don't have to go out and buy food
D - bacon, broad beans and tomatoes in pesto sauce with a small amount of pasta
Best of luck today, all!Back after a very long break!0 -
Hi Everyone,
Woke up this morning and I had a wonderful start to the day !!! Just to put you in the picture ...
I had to buy a special, huge, bath towel a few years ago, as a normal one wouldn't go round meNow this bath towel, which could have been used in the wintertime for keeping the frost of the car - it was that big - was a mustard colour... The only time my better-half put a washing on and I said to him to keep the lights separate, he thought I meant the weight, as in heavy or light and a pair of black jeans got washed with this towel... The result was (even to this day) was a dirty mustard looking colour... but hey, ho, that's life...
Well, my only towel was in the washing, so I had to go and get a 'normal' sized bath towel and guess what ???? There was plenty of room.... Isn't that great ???? All these little changes mean so much in my life .... Just think, maybe by this time next year, I'll be able to cover myself up with a couple of tea-towels .... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Morning all
B - F&F, ff Greek style yogurt, raspberries & blackberries from the garden
D - chicken salad
T - usual 3 crackerbread with peanut butter, Brie, Vegemite
S - muffin, carrot/celery mix, melon
E - pottering in the garden, waved the duster about inside.
(Hidden the pile of dusters in case OG gets her hands on them to use as towels!)
have a sunny day0 -
Lol officeguru at the tea towels, but really well done on the smaller towel!
So far I haven't had anything naughty, and will maybe have some porridge for lunch. I WILL have lost weight at weigh in tomorrow!! Think I might go for a walk this afternoon, and will do some exercise tonight.0 -

Thank you, Missymoo.... It really made my morning... :beer:0 -
Hola everyone, hubby is away in Japan this week and as usual that makes me find it reeeeeally hard to be good as all I want to do is make huge portions of pasta for myself! Just drinking a smoothie for lunch (strawberries, half a leftover can of pineapple and water). I did 15 mins walking on the treadmill (I know that is pathetic but all my post-broken foot can manage!) and then some of a new Pilates DVD I bought. It was really good but I found it very hard...I think I just don't have a core!!
I am really worried about my neck/back/shoulders/posture at the moment. When I had problems with a damaged nerve in the back of my head last year (if anyone remembers) and was on a horrid painkiller that made me gain loads of weight I developed this disgusting sort of hump or lump at the base of my neck/top of my spineThe doctor at the time said it was a combination of the painkiller causing me to lay down fat in strange places and also the tight muscles caused by the constant head pain. Anyway when I lost weight for the wedding it reduced a lot (although it was still there a bit but I felt confident having my hair up for my wedding!) but now I have gained 9 or 10 lbs since my wedding again it has come back and I hate it, I worry about it all the time
I think it is a side effect of being fat but I see women who are way fatter than me (at the end of the day yes I am very big for my height but I am only a Size 14!) who don't have it
I have been focussing so hard on trying to correct my posture and I thought Pilates might help. It really depresses me and makes me self-conscious, I have long hair and will never wear it up as I feel it hides it when it is loose (it probably doesn't!) and if I am wearing a top/dress with a lower back I wear a shrug or cardi over it that comes right up to the neck. Argh!
Anyway enough of my moaning but I just wanted to articulate that to try and remind myself why I really need to lose this weight.
I had a good time in Geneva and it was interesting spending 4 full days with my friend and observing her habits as she is a naturally very slim person. I have some observations that I will share with you ladies but not now as this post is already way too long! I don't think I gained too much in Geneva but the first couple of days back home were BAD (including pizza and ice cream!!) so I have gained a few lbs(not my official weigh in yet !)
Good luck everyone and well done all you fab people who seem to be doing so well!0 -
PS does anyone else have images of Officeguru harnessing her new-found confidence and dancing around the house with a load of bright yellow dusters in the manner of an exotic lady doing a scarf dance?! no...just me?!0

No...just you daisiegg :rotfl:(and maybe lucky Mr Officeguru :rotfl:)
Your 15 minutes on the treadmill is NOT pathetic! We all do what we can manage, and that's what your foot can manage just now, don't beat yourself up about it.
Re your neck...have you considered seeing an osteopath, or even going for acupuncture? (not medical advice, just wondering if it's something they could help?)
I have a very good osteopath I see when I'm really bad...she can tell immediately if the pain is spinal, or muscular or whatever. (as well as my spine, I have a problem where my top ribs move out of place and grind on my shoulder blade...weird, and she knew right away what it was). She also does that thing with her fingers on your head - cranial osteopathy, I think it's called?
I've also had relief from pain with acupuncture.
I know it's not easy to find a good practitioner, but maybe someone could help with the muscles in your neck?
Let us know how you get on with the dvd...pilates was recommended to me too, and I bought a dvd, but haven't done it yetI'm very unco-ordinated and stiff and am dreading going to a class
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -

With regards to the dusters - I get the image similar to that of Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller in the movie version of Starsky and Hutch...the bathroom scene at the beginning where they have those little hand towels over their....manparts
ETA: I have a DVD called Pilates for Dummies :rotfl: It really is that simplistic, I did it for the first time on Tuesday afternoon, and planning to do it again today. I say stick with it before you give it up!!
Also - I totally recommend sports massages. They are amazing.0 -

Haha that's the one I have! I think it is really good. Sometimes I find exercise DVDs go too fast or they expect you to be looking at the screen at the same time as being on the floor/twisted all around so it is impossible to actually do the exercise at the same time as watching how to do it....but this one is really good I think.
I saw a physio last year as part of the treatment for my nerve pain thing and as soon as I am back from holiday in September I am going to ask the dr to refer me again, not least because we pay for Bupa and haven't used it at all this year. The physio I saw last year did acupuncture too. Even though I have only been 'posture conscious' for a few days I can already see and feel a difference so I must keep it up. They say excellent posture can take pounds off the way you look!0
