Afternoon
Relieved to announce a STS this week. I was worried it would be a gain but I managed to get back down to the same as last Friday. Just annoying that it took all week to get back to square one when I didn't even have anything sinful to account for the gain!
Never mind, perhaps I might manage a pound next week. The main thing is not to put it all back on, as I've done in the past.0 -

I didn't realise about the fruit until my first day of myfitnesspal and 2 bananas took 3/4 of my sugar allowance  Whilst I don't want to cut all fruit out I will try to have more veggies instead
Hope everyone else has a good week
ETA - Does anyone else talk about losing weight a lot? I seem to talk about it all the time and I think some work colleagues are getting fed up of it ... I should have learned my lesson by now and not talk about it but I was bouncing off the wall with a 4lb lossFeeling a bit disheartened now with lack of support or maybe I have just said i'm on a diet one too many times?
Must try harder not to talk about weight loss except on here
I'm the opposite...I never talk about it! I think I don't want people to know I am trying to lose weight because that draws attention to the fact that I need to lose weight....I suppose I can kid myself that otherwise they just won't notice I'm fat!:rotfl:0 -

My auntie had me in tears one weekend saying no one sees me as fat they just see me. I will not mention it unless asked and resolve to keep this promise to myselfI have been told off for having a toffee crisp even though I have counted the calories ... The only person I let down when I secretly eat more than I let on is myself
We will get there - regardless of where we start we are all here trying to get a little closer to our goal ... I hope your journey isn't too bad - mine seems a long way off!SW member: 09/01/2014

I think we can be our own harshest critics...much harder on ourselves than on anyone else. I don't look at other people and see fat...I see people, friends, family, regardless of weight. Yet I look in the mirror and see *fat*...all the bits I don't like.
And I think it's only possible to talk diets and exercise continually with friends who are just as obsessed, others just aren't interested. I've a couple of friends who can talk about weight loss for a whole hours walk...yet one friend didn't comment once when I lost 3 and a half stone!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -

I'm sorry to hear that, MW. I'm lucky enough (if you can call it that) to sit with a group that includes two other people who are trying to lose weight, so we can discuss things amongst ourselves and know we've got a mutually interested audience. (Although none of them helped when I was being persuaded to eat the last slice of carrot cake this afternoon - "it will only go in the bin if you don't eat it" - needless to say I saved it from such a dreadful fate!)
I will say, though - very well done on losing 4lbs - that's excellent. :T
I made a mildly interesting discovery this evening, which reminded me why I don't usually buy branded diet products: I wanted some tortilla wraps for dinner tonight, and looked first at the WW white ones, which are 107 calories each (according to the packet). Then I looked at another, non-diet brand of wholemeal wraps, and they're 109 calories each. So the WW ones save you precisely 2 calories, and of course, not being wholemeal, you miss out on fibre and various other goodies. Guess which I bought?Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all
Lost 1lb this week so at least moving in the right direction
I agree that we are definitely our own worst critics! I don't think that I have ever looked at a photo with me in it and not checked how bad I look first!0 -
Maddy you lost a massive 4lbs!! You absolutely SHOULD be skipping up the street telling all and sundry. :T:T
Loud and proud girl, loud and proud.
So if you have been round the block a few times diet-wise. Who hasn't?
Least everyone can do is support each other whether its diet chat, BF/DH chat, kiddies/grandkiddies chat - lets face it, we've all got something we go on about including all your workmates.
Anyway, I was well impressed with your loss. And officeguru's.:D

So today -
B: cornflakes, sultanas, ss milk
L: 2 slices wm toast (with the mouldy bits picked off)
4 slices mushroom pizza...can you tell DS is home? I'm very easily led astray
No exercise, my back is worse than normal today, which is a bit worrying.
I'm watching a film about Freddie Mercury just now. It's very interesting hearing about his early life, and also hearing him speak - he is very well spoken. It really emphasizes the differences in media coverage from the seventies to now...nowadays the "stars" are reported everywhere, but back then although my friends and I were huge Queen fans, all we did was buy the music (deliberately not saying LPs or cassettes in case youngsters like daisie and TG don't know what I'm talking about :rotfl:)...we had no control of the family TV, no money for magazines, no internet, no smart phones...really no way to find out things about our music heroes. I'm not sure it wasn't better like that.
And in the spirit of us all loving ourselves just as we are...remember, Freddie Mercury very much approved of Fat Bottomed Girls

:rotfl: of course we know what they are! (Not that I can speak for TG...but I do!) Admittedly it was cassettes when I was growing up rather than records but records were still sold and my parents and grandparents still had them.
Interestingly, my husband and I talk about this a lot. He is 15 years older than me yet we find we have many more shared memories/experiences of growing up in terms of technology, popular culture etc, than I would with someone even 5 or 10 years younger than me. I think things have changed so much more rapidly recently than they did prior to that.
And despite my tender years I am also a huge Queen fan0 -

I've lost another 1lb this week! It was so good to see 10st 13lbs, instead of 11 something, but I couldn't bear to look at first in case I hadn't lost anything, or worse I'd put on, lol!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs
