Thanks ellie, I did. We went to the deer park at Woburn, wandered through the antique shops, had a pot of tea and fruity flapjack, then meandered through the country lanes back home.
Today's menu ended up like this -
    B - nectarine
    L - none
    S - ginormous flapjack
D - gammon, sausage, egg, sweet potato wedges
    S - fresh fruit
E - walked for what seemed like miles around the deer park

    Sweet dreams :)

    Hi All

I had a good laugh reading all your posts...

There are too many to comment on but be sure that I have read every one .... I can prove it too !!! For example, buy some copper wire from the electricians and surround your lettuce bed with wood and nail the copper wire to the wood and it zaps the snails as they slide over... Sometimes you can buy copper tape cheaply from B&M's or similar stores...

I'm still busy sewing... I wish I could top stitch in a straight line as it would save me a lot of unpicking.. :(

    It's hot! hot! hot!

Do you not find that you eat less when the weather is hot ??? I've only been drinking iced water instead of mugs of coffee.. :A

I never even had my evening meal tonight... It was all ready at 5.30pm .. dished up on the plates ... when the doorbell rang... It was a lovely family interested in one of the cats.. Well, the moggie did her part well... acted like a slapper... one minute she was ignoring them and the next she was pulling herself along the carpet, rolling over and over saying, 'look at me'.. An hour later, the lovely family left with one little moggie... All's well with the world and the dinner was ruined.. but what do you do.. ? Homing one of my charges is far more important than eating.. They have had such a rotten start in life, that it fills my heart with joy to see them get a second chance in life.. This wee one had been so badly treated and she was now off to her new home.. :j:j:j

Well, tomorrow is another day... and the weigh-in.... Good luck everyone...

Welcome bouncydog (love the name! :rotfl:)

Would you like to join in the current challenge? It runs until end Sept (about 9 weeks I think). If you do can you let me know how much you will be aiming to lose in that time?

Mind you, I personally think - this is just my opinion - that if you're in your 50s and 8 1/2 stone you're in brilliant shape... :D
TG - I think I'll stick with my Thurs WI day as its when I weigh in with SW online.
I'm highly impressed that you gave away some of your chocolate. I find it very difficult, neigh on impossible, to part with my chocolatey goodies.

Fair enough, I'll update you on the spreadsheet cheerfulness. Chin up and keep going! x

theatregirl...I laughed when you said it was too late to save the chocolate, it's exactly what I thought you would say

Blimming cheek! :rotfl: Anyway it's all gone now....it wont bother me further. And it was ever so nice and well deserved too - DM said it made up for all the time I dont get recognised for all the effort I put into things!!!

    ANYWAY

Dinner was a disaster tonight, overcooked the pasta, undercooked the quorn mince....so gave up, threw it out, and had a wm cheese sandwich + 2 l/o carrots peeled and dipped in chive dip.

Not all is lost though, I THINK I'm looking trimmer tonight, tomorrow morning will be the proof in the pudding. :A

Good luck all. No Oreos or Milky(bar)s this week though :p
  • Hello friends, new and less-new :A

Reporting in from the USA...and its quite frankly not good ;)

I cannot believe the portion sizes here. For example, having alazy day today to give the twins a rest. Decided to order a pizza but to be different, decided to try a deep dish. Mistake no.1. The 'deep dish' was a 2 inch (not joking, seriously) crust with bout an inch of base alone. DH wanted chips so ordered 1 portion. Mistke no.2. Regular fries was a 8" plate of chips, covered in sauce and with more cheese on top. DH also wanted cheesecake (he's very skinny nd eats like a horse!) so ordered 1 slice. Mistake no.3. Seriously, the slice was about the size of 3 nrmal uk slices :eek::eek:

So in short: do not expect any smileys from me for these 3 weeks! HAve been trying to go for healthy options, have stocked the fridge with fruit, healthier choices at breakfast buffet and reasonable lunches. Its all the cakes, cookies and ice cream that are my downfall :(

Heard an interestingphrase though, seems to have stuck in my head. "Treat every food choice as a swop-ertunity" :A and i at least consider swapping the cake for fruit. However, the thought doesn't always lead to action :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Glad to hear you guys are all well. Have missed catching up on daily posts.

See you when i get back!

I am moderately pleased to announce STS for me this week. Actually, it's a loss of half a pound but not sure that can go in the spreadsheet?

Technically it's a loss of 2.5lbs because I gained 2lbs over the weekend :o but not for the purposes of the challenge.

I'm also all very bloated and swollen, and to make matters worse *ahem* haven't been to the toilet in 2 days so that is all probably weighing loads! Yes, in actual fact I weight a svelte 8 stone, the rest is all swollen feet! :rotfl:

The scales are showing a 2lb loss this morning. I think a lot of that is water as I was peeing for England yesterday. Nevertheless it is a positive so will declare it!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

It seems yesterday's weight was indeed a blip (phew!) so I can report a gain of 1/2 pound from this time last week, which isn't bad after a weekend of halloumi and cider. :o It also means a loss of half a pound since I came back on Wednesday, which is even better.

    Today goes:

B - cereal bar and a handful of fresh cherries
L - LO breaded pork fillet (from last night - it's what I ended up having instead of the planned quorn fillet) with mixed salad; some fresh fruit (I'll have to buy some so I don't know what yet)
D - veggie enchiladas; large glass of chilled white wine, because it's Friday

bouncydog - it's lovely to have you along, but 8 and a half stone really isn't fat - depending on your height you're either in the 'healthy' zone or possibly even heading towards being under-weight (taken from this trusty little chart on the NHS website). By all means come and join us if you'd like to lose a bit of weight, but please don't make yourself ill doing it!
Back after a very long break!

An STS this week, not bad considering all the yummy barbies, st@rbucks etc I had when I was away.
Seriously need to cut down on bread, even though I have WW wm, and watch portion sizes cos my tum definitely goes before me :o. Could also be the amount of water I'm drinking though, going through at least a litre a day atm
Goodness FG sounds like a days meals would do for a week here! Prefer my chips 'straight' but the cheesecake would be a good treat for TG to portion up and hand out if she's short on Oreo's and Milky bars ;)
    B - F&F, ss milk
L - egg on 1 slice WW toast
D - salad with grilled ribs
    S - fresh fruit
E - digging up plants and moving them around

    Enjoy this beautiful weather :)
